I just remembered that we can't buy support in Hostile territory, so we wouldn't be able to deploy flight support in the Atlantic. That kind of makes me less in favor of that idea for the moment.

Yes, we can. The idea is what we would buy the flight support in Friendly Territory (North Africa) and perform a Paradrop action onto a patrol in the Atlantic, allowing both movement, engagement of the patrol on our terms, and the flight support to assist. Since in a paradrop action you can not purchase starting from enemy territory services that are in the next territory over, can you go from say friendly territory purchasing services with a paradrop action into enemy territory? Damn, dude changed rules it looks like. I coulda sworn you could only target installations with paradrop actions, not patrols...
