I can't believe I let her go, thought Nigel Ferdinand as tears rolled down his face laying in a bed in small mostly empty officers quarters at New Amsterdam. The snow was already seeping up to the windows of the small building that was built just yesterday.
"Why do I fail everyone," muttered Nigel to himself in the dark room. The moon light leaking through the top of the window made the pouring tears flicker in the light as they ran down Nigel's face.
If she is alive, I will save her, I have to save her, I must, thought Nigel as he looked out at the moon outside his window.

The beaten form of Melissa Ferdinand hung in chains against the wall of a make shift jail inside a converted cruise liner that had been captured by the Zeon forces. The moon shined in the port hole that was beside Melissa, showing her soft lips and the reflection of her eyes.
The door slammed open again, sending shivers down the spine of Melissa yet again. Lifting her face slightly the moon shined across the eyes of Melissa relieving their blackened state.
God, just kill me tonight, thought Melissa as the greasy haired Schutzstaffel soldier appeared yet again in her cell.
"Hello princess," said the soldier in a snake like voice as he moved across the darkened room. "You look pretty as always," said the soldier as he pressing himself up against the chest of Melissa, placing his head up near the neck of a shaking Melissa.
"Leave me alone you creep," sobbed Melissa as she pressed back as hard as she could against the cold steel wall, refusing to make eye contact with her assaulter.
"Why the name calling," said the slimy soldier as he moved away slightly as he ran his fingers down Melissa's neck, "I thought you might be beginning to like me."
Melissa screamed and thrashed in her chains, attempting with all her might to move the hand off her neck. Screaming she continued to thrash until a slap came firmly across her face, sending her immediately into a fit of tears.
"I told you before not to fight," said the soldier brushing off his dirty uniform for a moment, "I don't have to hurt you."
The sobs of Melissa continued as she muttered, "I have told you all I know, leave me alone. I haven't done anything."
"Shhhhh... Shhh... my dear, its ok, I am here," said the soldier with a crazed look on his face as he reached down grabbing Melissa's butt, pulling her closer to him.
The door to the room opened suddenly, sending the soldier sliding quickly away from Melissa. Turning around with an evil grin on his face the soldier turned to face the door, the light of moon lighting up his eyes in the otherwise dark room.
Melissa couldn't control herself and broke into uncontrollable sobbing again. Her uncontrollable sobs echoed in the room, as she muttered a few words in her sobs that were far from audible.
