"NO! No no no no!" Xavier fired a few shots into the water before falling to his knees, dropping his helmet and gun into the wet sand. "FUCK!"
The defeated Schuzstaffel officer began shaking uncontrollably as he stared out into the waves where the Federation mobile suits had disappeared. In their wake the moon reflected brightly off the waves, creating a blanket of light across the surface. He fought back the tears as he clinched his fist and slammed it into the sand.
Marina...
Xavier no longer could hold back the emotions that were welling up inside him - he finally broke. His inability to stop the damned Aquatic GM had put Marina in so many unnecessarily dangerous situations and he couldn't help but feel that she wouldn't make it this time... Would he lose yet another?
"Daddy?" Xavier looked up to see the ghostly form of his daughter slowly materialize in the waves. Her body held an eerie, yet heavenly glow as she waded through the water towards her father. The broken man stared into her deep blue eyes, his tears subsiding for the moment as she came closer.
"Ariel? is that you?" The Schuzstaffel officer's mind was unstable, but it seemed too real for him to dismiss; or at least too comfortable. The father was hesitant at first as he extended his shaking hand to caress the side of his daughter's face.
"Yes Daddy." The small child flashed a smile that warmed Xavier as he imagined he was embracing her in his arms. Oh how he had missed her...
