Confined Patience

Day two in his holding cell; Bryce let out a long sigh, looking over at the door again. He had hoped if he looked at the door enough, a Federation soldier would come in and start interrogating him. It would be so much better dealing with someone instead of sitting in an event-less prison room. No matter, the seclusion gave Bryce ample time to reflect on various things.

Bryce’s thoughts traveled to his actions once the commotion over his defection calms down. The most urgent piece of business on his agenda would be acquiring a mobile weapon. He had left Hildolfr back at the Zeon base in Constantinople. It would be missed. Even though, it didn't live up to Bryce's standards to be able to protect Arianna with, it had served him well and kept him alive. Now though, Bryce would need a mobile suit capable of fending off any enemies that engage Arianna; he would need something to keep Zeons at a distance. Sort of like how fire would keep a wild animal away. The Hildolfr was a great mobile armor. The power behind it was phenomenal. It helped destroy quite a bit at New Amsterdam's compound. Not to mention, the shells it fired would rip a mobile suit in two. However, that wasn't enough to suit the needs Bryce was looking for. The Hildolfr was all about power, and its strength was being an artillery unit. This GM Bryce thought about would have the ability to fend off a mobile suit at close range. That was the difference in the roles he would have to take in this war.

He would need to go from a Zeon piloting a mobile armor that had long range power to a Federation soldier piloting a mobile suit specializing in close quarters combat. The beam sabers of the Federation would be a welcome change of pace. The technology was admirable, considering it sliced off the cannon of the Hildolfr in one fell swoop.

“A beam saber alone wouldn't be enough to keep away the more hardened troops of the Zeon army though.” He contemplated out loud; he's seen Zeon’s forces charge a Federation MS brandishing a beam sword.

A thought crossed Bryce's mind as he remembered something from his recent past. Photograph's of mobile suits he took while he was taking part in espionage! Thoughts long since forgotten after getting so entrenched in ending this war. After seeing the Gundam, Bryce saw many more mobile suits being produced by the Federation and even was fortunate enough to get a picture or two. Most of the pictures never even made it into Zeon’s hand; done to spite them for discrediting his work. Many of the shots were of the standard GMs and the like. Others were like nothing he has seen, even after taking to the battle field. One photograph stood out more amongst the rest, however. The expression on his face looked like he had seen a ghost, but as quickly as it appeared, it turned into a grin. It was a GM that resembled something of the Land Combat Type. He knew not of its name or specs, but he remember taking pictures of the suit while it was equipped and being tested with what looked like a beam spear.

“Wait a minute...” He closed his eyes, rubbing them as he attempted to accurately relive the moment. He recalled that it was dubbed the twin beam spear. Now a suit with such a weapon could surely help Bryce keep offenders away from his beloved Arianna. Even if as a decoy, he could easily flash that weapon to draw attention away from her -- It would be perfect. A GM fitted to escort Arianna's GM S-Type.

Bryce smiled and took in a deep breath. He tilted his head back against the cold wall and glanced up at the ceiling. Coming across such a discovery put him at ease once again while awaited his Federation audience from inside of his holding cell. Things could turn out much better than he originally had thought. Hopefully the "gift" Bryce gave to the Federation would be enough to convince them to provide him with the mobile weapon he needed to protect Arianna. You never know, they might be for the idea, especially if it means I protect a precious test type mobile suit. “I'd be protecting a Federation investment," Bryce chuckled.
