This was, what, the fourth sortie for the day? Timetables were becoming increasingly packed, and things likewise became increasingly hectic for them so due to their unique skills and demand for it. Just the four of them tasked with battling an onslaught of Zeon's newest ever since the war began. First it was the Saberfish; those were fun, fast, and fantastically useless against the Zakus of the time. Then the Balls, though most of squadron members wanted little to talk about that time. Now, the most of them operated GM E's with the exception of the commander who was fortunate enough to get a GM Command.
"Beux, Haifa, screen right. Kimi, you're with me," came the reassuringly calm words from the veteran commander. "Remember to be on your toes, ladies, we're dealing with Rick twos this time."
"Roger that, sir," came a reply in unison.
No sooner had the prep session concluded did a bright green flare fire streak across the starry background, and fully five sources of light revealed themselves from a distance.
"Stand by, 8 seconds to sensor range. Stand by. Okay, got 'em, and damn are they fast," mentioned one of the pilots while following his commander's faster mobile suit.
With the sensor advantage now gone, the Zeon Rick Dom IIs began to take pot shots with their extremely potent recoilless guns. Yet despite their high muzzle velocities, four kilometers offered the GMs plenty of time for evasive maneuvers.

A pink beam lanced out toward the five green mobile suits, yet their bulky and armoured appearance deceived them; with ease, and even some grace, the gargantuan machines dodged the much faster particle beam. But, it didn't take long for the Rick Dom flight to display its amateur status, as most of them delivered a hail of gunfire at the two groups of GMs in retaliation. The Federation MS, of course, dodged the mostly incoherent retaliatory fire and swept in to prey on the two Rick Doms that were in the midst of reloading their giant bazookas.
It became readily evident that this group worked in MMP / bazooka pairs, with the odd one out dealing with targets of higher priority. Haifa deduced this when her attempts at picking off the more cumbersomely armed Rick Dom hit a stream of 90mm bullets.
"Well, that was a nice touch," she said to herself, referring to the grenade launched from the second Rick Dom's MMP-80.
Naturally, however, experience erred on the side of the GM pilots, and the tactics that the Rick Dom IIs utilized became too much for fresh rookies to use. After the initial attack, the GMs quickly divided the pairs and in a short time neutralized the entire Zeon squadron at the loss of Kimi's right leg and shield.

"Commander, what the hell? I thought they were supposed to use paint rounds!" exclaimed the blonde haired pilot while looking at the mangled limb of his otherwise pristine mobile suit.
Separating his palms, the commander replied, "Kimi, those giant bazookas normally fire darts this long. No filler. Do you expect them to devote an R&D team to developing paint rounds this late in the war?"
"Well, no, obviously not," said the seaman, rolling his eyes at the NCO, "but you'd think they'd just use the machine guns then!"
"Well, then that wouldn't be a very good training exercise, now would it?" said the commander before walking off into the interior of the base.
