My Chicken continued to roll through its grand world tour of Eco, rattling along the unpaved village streets to the steady pace of Lizzie the Komodo's limbering feet. It was night time, and the two passengers held torches into the air to light their way. "BRING OUT YER DEAD!" Katherine Lockheart yelled. She and the Village Chief had seen the end of more than one skeleton - and now, would see the end of the last. They were lucky in that they were out of the village during the ambush - but now Chief Punion had returned, and was ready to do his duty in protecting the town. The first skeleton they encountered was inside the storage area. Ball and Katherine stormed the building, but the skeleton exited out the back. Katherine gave chase, but paused upon seeing a shiny key on the ground. The key to the storage area! The skeleton ran as fast as its muscle-less legs could take it. It entered the Blacksmith, where a big-boned skeleton lounged in a leather curiass and leather hat pulled over its head. A few chatterings before them and the panic spread. The blacksmith skeleton grabbed an iron short sword, while the storage skeleton grabbed a bow and quiver of arrows. The two exited out the back, the glow of torches peeking through the edges of the door. Chief Punion kicked the door in, but the skeletons had already fled. The two skeletons marched on, making for the former Graveyard - where a large, imposing library now sat constructed out of tombstones and coffin covers. Shrooms peeked out at the edges of the building, nestled between overturned statues and epitaphs. The two skeletons scurried up the front stairs, entering the stone building. There, the skeleton of a wyvern was sleeping. The two chattered, catching the dragon's attention, who came to life and chomped with a line of teeth. The glow of torches soon peeked through the building. It was time. The cannons of My Chicken went off, one after one, sending cannonballs that bounced off the stone building. After three shots, the fire stopped and the two thought about what to do next. Ball Punion jumped off the vehicle and charged at the library, only to be met with an ambush! An arrow shot through the darkness and embedded into Ball's shoulder. Ball through his whaling harpoon in that direction, catching the skeleton in the torso and shattering its spine. He grabbed the prone bow and quiver, noticing a low growl in the library and fled. Ball limped back to My Chicken and was pulled into the back of the wagon by Katherine. She broke off the arrow and threw it to the side - noticing an armored skeleton sneaking up under the wagonboat. She raised her hand crossbow and shot him - shooting off his leather cap. The skeleton made an angry face, then crawled onto the boat. She was at arms at once with her rapier, and the two leather armored fighters made battle - iron shortword to saber. They clashed over Ball Punion's wounded body, who was slowly dragged away by Steve the Goat. Eventually, Katherine sliced at his feet, the bones coming apart. The skeleton sliced across her side, drawing blood. With one good kick, Katherine tossed the armored skeleton into a mast - shattering him into pieces. At this point, the skeleton wyvern crawled out of the Haunted Library, chomping its teeth and spreading its skeletal wings. Lizzie held her ground, stamping at the floor and roaring back. The skeleton wyvern opened its mouth, revealing a giant ruby, and from it erupted a pillar of fire. Lizzie whirled around, dragging My Chicken behind her and making tracks. The wounded party watched the skeleton wyvern scorch the ground, making a wall of fire at the cemetery wall. Outcome: Stalemate Ball Punion: -50 HP, +35 SP, Iron Short Sword, Leather Jacket Katherine Lockheart: -50 SP, +35 SP, Bow and Quiver, Key to Storage Area Blacksmith: Liberated Storage Area: Liberated Dragonshroom's Haunted Library: Occupied |
