Loss of Innocence.
Penny McKenzie finds herself in a situation that she would rather not find herself in. She cannot understand what Zeon command was thinking when they decided to build a base in this location. She grinds her teeth as looks around at all the buildings around her. This location would provide massive amounts of cover for the base and its defenders once it was completed but right now all it was is a danger to civilian lives. She grunts to herself and looks to her side where a group of engineers where working on one of the first weapons turrets for the base. It had a clear field of fire down four streets around it. This would provide a path enemies would have to come to destroy it.
In another mobile suit nearby Daniel Norrington keeps an eye down a side alley way. Leaning against a building beside his mobile suit is a magella attack cannon. His Zaku II F stands in a dead end but Daniel isn’t worried about that since it means no one can sneak up behind him. He is nervous being alone but he feels an odd excitement pulse through his veins. His mobile suit is currently armed with a bazooka and a GM shield. He has spare weapons set up in case he runs out of ammo for one, he can just drop the spent weapon and pull out a new one. He nods in satisfaction with his preparations.
In another alley guarding a similar alley way is Ren Steward. He is more calm than Daniel but that is mainly because he has more experience. He has his eyes closed as he remembers previous battles that he took part in. He goes over what he did wrong and what he did right. As he nods with satisfaction he opens his eyes to make sure the world is still there. He isn’t surprised to see it there. He tightens his grip on his controls. He is ready for what is coming.
At the edge of the city the group of Earth Federation soldiers gather. In the lead is Tyler Back. His eyes taking in the city that he knew the Zeon soldiers where building the base he came to destroy was located. His eyes burning with hatred for the Zeon soldiers and the civilians who are allowing the Zeon forces to build in the city. His mind urns with the feeling righteousness that he knows is on his side. He shall make this city burn when he is done with it. But before he can do that he has to defeat the forces protecting the city. He knows that they out number his forces and he also knows most of them are more experienced than his. He also knows that city shall allow his smaller force to be take them on more less equal footing because they can’t come at him at once. And he also has a plan to allow him to cash in on this advantage thanks to his new commander. He has been embarrassed by these Zeeks too often and today he is planning on returning the favor.
"Sir. We are receiving reports of a concentration of Zeon mobile suits in a sector of the city that seems to have been abandoned by th civilians." states the voice of one of his mobile suit pilots."And it seems they are protecting a group of engineers who are setting up defensive weapons."
"Is this information reliable?" asks Tyler as he looks over at the Armored GM mobile suit that the voice is coming from.
‘It is. I payed the civilian well. It seems that he is a little angry about the fact that he forced to leave his home."
"Good. Hopefully the bastard doesn’t have a home when we are done with the Zeeks." snorts Tyler in reply. His mind already visualizing the city burning around the wreckage of Zeon mobile suits and its base. "Proceed with the plan. You all know what to do. Our first target shall be the Zeon forces away from the base. We can’t attack that base with those forces loose to come behind us."
He listens as the mobile suit pilots give their acknowledgment. He then watches as the Armored GM blasts ahead of his forces. A GM Ground type blasts off in pursuit while he and another GM Ground Type proceed more slowly. All must go according to plan, Tyler thinks to himself. No! All will go according to plan and those Zeek will be destroyed.
A few minutes later Daniel Norrington sits up straighter as an alarm sounds in his cockpit as his sensors detect an in coming contact. "Lead this Norrington. I have a fast moving contact in coming."
"Roger." replies Penny McKenzie’s voice over the radio. "Try to keep it in the main streets if you can. We have to keep them there until this weapon is finished and it can destroy them with ease."
"Roger Lead." answers Daniel as he moves his mobile suit to look down the main street. "Proceeding with plan."
As he looks out the alley at the incoming mobile suit his eyes grow large as he sees the mobile suit moving like a Dom and at high speed. It opens fire at the Zaku II F and Daniel ducks back into the dead end as machine gun rounds slams into building beside him. Then the GM is blasts past his position and Daniel curses as he pops back around the corner and opens fire with his bazooka. Further down the main street two more Zaku II F types pop out of the same alley to either side of the main street and open fire on the GM with their machine guns. The Armored GM returns fire with both its hyper bazooka and machine gun but due to the heavy weapons fire coming its way, its shots miss.
It spins around and blasts away from the two Zakus and heads straight at Daniel while firing its machine gun some more. Daniel is forced to hide behind his GM shield as the rounds slam into the building beside him and his shield. Then the Armored GM leaps into the air and slams its foot into Daniel’s shield knocking his mobile suit into the wall of the opposite side of the alley. Then the GM blasts down the open alley way as Daniel tries to recover. Once he is recovered he aims his bazooka at the now distant GM but before he can fire a round blasts past his position and slams into one of the Zakus further down the main street. Daniel curses as he feels the distant mobile suit fall.
With the distraction Armored GM escapes the alley and disappears down another road. Ren detects the enemy mobile suit on his scopes and readies himself. He checks to make sure his machine gun is ready to fire and makes sure his shield is in position. Then his eyes grow large as the GM pops around the corner and opens fire on him with its machine gun and hyper bazooka. With his shield up Ren is saved from destruction as he returns fire. The rounds just slam into the nearby buildings as the GM slides away from the attack. But finds itself under heavy weapons fire as two Zaku II JC types and Zaku Cannon open fire on it. It quickly shoots down the main street while dodging enemy fire.
"Heavy hitters found." states the pilot of the Armored GM over its radio.
Ren frowns as he listens to the signal then his world seems to come apart as his position comes under heavy fire from shells. He moves his mobile suit back against the far wall of the dead end he is hiding in and settles in to wait for his allies to rescue him.
Penny signals for the Guncannon in her mobile suit team to go assist the 02nd MS Team while she moves quickly to assist Daniel’s team. Armed with a bazooka Penny rains rounds down the street as Daniel now armed with his magella attack cannon pops out the dead end and fires at the distant GM Ground Type. Then the Armored GM appears back in the alley across from Daniel and catches him unaware. Penny blasts her mobile suit down the street to try to save Daniel but the GM fires its hyper bazooka and machine gun to the Zaku’s exposed side. The rounds destroy the Zaku’s arm and leg on that side. But before the Armored GM can finish off Daniel, it comes under fire by large bazooka rounds as a Dom Funf enters the flight. It leaps over its charging commander and chases after the GM as it turns away from its victim and blasts back down the street.
At the end of the street the GM ground type tries to cover its alley but it finds itself under fire from a much closer Zaku II F type. The GM’s pilot curses as it is forced to retreat as bazooka rounds land around it. Then Armored GM enters the fight and fires its last bazooka round into the Zaku. It disappears in the explosion but it is just lightly damaged as it tosses a flash cracker which explodes blinding the two Federation pilots allowing to the Zaku to retreat down another alley way to recover from its damage.
Meanwhile Tyler curses as his position starts to get shelled forcing him to take cover and allowing the Gelgoog Marine he was trying to destroy to escape the dead end and head to the square. His eyes narrow as he zooms in on the distant Guncannon that used to belong to him. He pops back around the corner at the end of the street and fires his beam rifle at the distant mobile suit. The blast strikes the ground in front of the enemy Guncannon and sends a huge amount of debris into the air blocking sight for the enemy Guncannon but also making it so Tyler can’t see his target either. He curses and begins to run down the street with the GM Ground type behind him providing covering fire with its cannon. At the end of the street the Guncannon follows the Gelgoog as blasts out of the street and to the side. As the two Zaku’s in his Mobile suit team open fire through the cloud that is still settling one of them takes a beam blasts to the chest and it explodes adding more debris, dust and smoke to the cloud. Then Tyler erupts out of th cloud and fires his shoulder cannons again. The rounds take the legs out from under Gelgoog and tosses its torso to the ground.
Tyler grins as his mobile suit comes under fire from a machine gun but ignores it as it pings off his suit’s heavy armor but he curses as he thrown forwards in his restraints as his mobile suit falls backwards as a powerful energy blasts causes his suits left shoulder to explode. Tyler quickly recovers and his eyes grows large as he spots the Zaku armed with a sniper rifle taking aim at him. Tyler then runs into debris cloud and sighs in relief as the next energy beam barely misses him. He retreats quickly down the street. He opens a channel to the GM Ground type covering his retreat.
"We are leaving. They are too well equipped for us to able to win this battle. "Orders Tyler.
"But what about the other two pilots?" asks the pilot.
"They will sacrifice themselves so we can escape." states Tyler as he aims his beam rifle at his ally. "You can sacrifice yourself as well if you want to or you can shut up and come with me."
The pilot lowers his head and follows the Guncannon out of the city.
Penny finds herself under fire from a more experienced pilot but her forces out number the single GM. Not by a huge margin but enough that they are able to close the distance between them quickly. The GM Ground Type drops its cannon and draws a machine gun and opens fire on Penny and her Gouf but ducks undercover which allows the Zaku II F type with her to get a hit with its bazooka. As the GM goes down the Zaku goes in for the kill. As the GM is taken out the Armored GM reappears in the alley and charges the Zaku who has its back to the fast moving GM. Penny curses as she leaps out of the alley and presents her shield slams into the Armored GM. It draws its beam saber cuts away the Bazooka Gouf was holding. Then goes for another strike but Penny some how gets her shield in the way and slams on her thrusters forcing the GM to slam into the nearby way. The impact damages the Armored GM’s backpack cutting off its thrusters.
"Fire the weapon now!!" yells Penny as she continues to push into the GM.
Then the GM slams its knee into Penny’s cockpit hatch. The monitor shatters and showers her with class. Her gouf stumbles backwards but at this point the Dom Funf enters the battle again and slams into the Gouf and carries the damaged mobile suit away as the GM slices an arm off with its beam saber. Both the Dom and Gouf slams into an alley way as the street behind them is filled with energy. Both pilots feel the Armored GM explodes.
Penny in her cockpit sighs with relief as the Dom forces her damaged hatch open. She looks out at the burning street behind it and shakes her head.
"Damage?" she asks over the radio.
"We lost a few mobile suits but the main people are still with us." answers the voice of the Dom pilot. "The Guncannon and its escort have escaped and it seems that they have set another part of the city on fire to escape us. Do you want us to pursue or help the civilians?"
"Help the civilians." grunts Penny as she settles in her seat. "And make sure you see to any injured as well."
At the edge of the city head down a highway is the Guncannon and a GM Ground Type. Tyler in Guncannon continues to curse to himself as he looks back at the city where another operation he was in failed. But he nods in satisfaction as he watches another part of the city that is on fire. Set by him to make this mission not a total loss. At least some of the civilians will pay he thinks to himself.

Ren Steward: 4 days of damage, 140 exp, 50,000 credits paid, lost 2 x Zaku II JC, Salvaged 1 x Hyper Bazooka
Red Andrews Ambushes Ulbrecht von Drechsler
Red blasts towards a distant point in lunar orbit that he knows his prey is at. He quickly finds the Neue Ziel floating lifelessly in space. Red grins as he aims both of his bazookas at the mobile armor and begins firing. The rounds explode around the mobile armor and it suddenly comes to life. It spins around and launches its mega claws. One misses the Stamen but the other grabs its shoulder. It ignites its blade destroying that shoulder and then the Neue Ziel tosses the damaged mobile suit away.
Outcome: Neue Ziel wins.
