To haul cargo you will have to have a ship that has a cargo rating. For each cargo allowed on your ship you will earn the basic amount of credits per trip. Here is a list of the places that need cargo transported what they will pay. (Also note that while you are hauling cargo you may become a target of pirates.)
CMC Controled Side 1 to any other colony will Earn you 200,000 credits per trip and 100,000 credits on a return trip.
Riah Republic to the Moon will Earn you 400,000 credits and 300,000 credits on a return trip
Von Braun to Side 3 will earn you 300,000 credits and 100,000 credits on a return trip
Von Braun to Earth will Earn you 200,000 credits and 200,000 credits on a return trip.
North America to South America will earn you 200,000 credits and 200,000 credits on a return trip
North America to Europe will earn you 250,000 credits and 150,000 credits on a return trip
North America to Asia or Japan will earn you 100,000 creditsand 300,000 credits on a return trip
South America to Europe will Earn you 200,000 credits and 300,000 credits on a return trip.
South America to Asia or Japan will earn you 100,000 creditsand 300,000 credits on a return trip
Any Colony Cluster to Another will earn you 200,000 credits and 200,000 credits on a return trip unless otherwise noted.
Any colony cluster to the moon will earn you 200,000 credits and 150,000 credits on a return Trip unless otherwise noted.

Also you can use a mobile suit slot to haul cargo. But that means you can not have a mobile suit there. And also you can have a ship move independent of you. Just remember that if it is defenseless it can be captured by pirate or player.
