Penny moves a lock of her hair out her face before she slides the helmet of her normal suit into place. She studies the cockpit around her then starts up the systems like she was taught. As he fingers flick switches the cockpit comes to life around her. She ignores the voices over her comm as the screen in front of her lights up and shows her a clearing in a very large jungle.
"This is Ensign Penny McKenzie, ready to begin testing of the Minovsky Craft System." states Penny calmly into her mike.
"Acknowledged Ensign." replies a voice over her comm. "Begin engine start up and then proceed with engine test flight."
"Acknowledged Op." says Penny as she begins the minovsky craft system start up sequence. Behind her in the other seat in the cockpit another person's fingers fly over a keyboard but this person is just monitoring system read outs. "Ready when ever you are sir."
"I think all is go." replies a nervous voice.
Penny nods and moves controls. The Apsalus erupts into the sky. Penny grunts as the g-forces of the sudden upwards blast pushes into the seat of her chair. She quickly cuts off thrust and her eyes widen as she looks at the main view screen. All she can see is the jungle. She whistles as she realizes what just happened how the mobile armor is just hovering in the sky. Then the world seems to tilt as the Apsalus' top begins to tilt towards the ground.
Penny tries to correct the tilt but just ends up blasting the mobile armor sideways. "Boy, this thing is sensitive."
"And it seems to have not enough power available to keep its flight steady. I think we can land. I got all the data I need." replies the tech behind Penny.
Penny nods and slowly brings the mobile armor down to ground. Trying to land smoothly Penny chews on her tongue as she concentrates. She fails to land smoothly as a slight jerk of her feet and hands causes the mobile armor tilt again and slam into the ground on its side. A few minutes later find Penny and the sitting on the ground beside the mobile armor.
"So what did you think Ensign." asks the tech as he types away at his computer.
"It was powerful sir. And it didn't seem to want to stay upright." aswers Penny truthfully but with a slight awed tone to her voice. "But it seemed to fly like gravity wasn't even there."
"Good. Thanks for the ride ensign." replies the tech as he puts all his attention back into his computer. Penny sensing that the tech no longer ever knew she was there anymore leans back and watchs the clouds drift by.
Outcome: Engine test successful
Penny McKenzie: no damage, 30 exp, 200,000 credits
