Historical Profile: Born in the United States of the American Union, Michael Haley grew up with a fascination for aircraft. The son of an aerospace engineer, Michael grew up with various fighters over the years. Reaching 18, Michael joined the military under the American Union Air Force. It was within the year after joining, that rumors started creeping in along with escalated tensions along both the East and West. After the debut of Mobile Suits by the Empire of Japan, then by the European Empire, the American Union began hasty construction and training of their military in these new machines. For the Air Force, they were not a priority due to their aircraft still holding some fighting capabilities against these new machines, but it was quickly dwindling. By the time the Air Force began their own training, rumors cropped up of new prototypes in their own forces.

Michael applied himself to the training and simulations further than the others, and in the process was noticed by one of the R&D cells. Taken aside, as the Union Flag debuted for the American Union was Michael given a test unit of his own, the next-generation Flag, the Over Flag. With the escalations on both coasts, the new machines are needed, with the Union's future in question.
