Watanabe Fuuka had to be restrained for a while. Her initial attempts to end the life of her co pilot were not perceived as a constructive force in the scarred battleground that was JOSH-A. So as the girl stared out the window of the briefing room she restrained ever impulse in her to scream. She wasn't directly permitted to leave, although the chaos among the people here would have made it possible enough, even with a lone guard there, and it wasn't like other people couldn't use the room to rest as well. She had somewhat come to her senses by now, and the girl was attempting to find some consolation. She had shone there, she had ended the lives of countless gajin. The softness of the girl would begin to show as she watched the Japanese supply ships being loaded a ways away. She had done her family proud, certainly it would be recognized. "Onii..." It was almost a childish grunt. Was he thinking about her? Had their mother been informed?

Fuuka had already tried to do something, contacting the Professor who had seen her off from orbit. The Minovsky particles were finally wearing off now anyways, so she was able to get in contact, even if it had to be brief. The rush of it, it was incredible. She couldn't properly describe the difference to those who had only ever existed under this oppressive gravity. But her pleas had been in vain. The Apsalus II was no where even remotely close to salvageable, and constructing a new one meant they had to fine tune another superior compacted Minovsky reactor, as build the frame, build the massive gun which had been mounted on it. And it all required funding. Funding that would be better placed to reinforcing the Japanese front. That idiot in Korea base had lost an entire fleet. They'd lost two here, and taken over a base. The chances of her seeing her Apsalus again any time soon was so minimal that it wasn't even worth discussing. She would just be assigned some other project. Something foreign and useless most likely. Perhaps they'd even get their hands on the murderer of her Apsalus? While Fuuka had no desire to pilot that disgusting stick figure called a mobile suit she would delight in shooting the man piloting it herself.

So the girl stood at the window. Punching the wall next to it a few times until her hand got sore. She was furious, even to the point of a tantrum for a moment. Her training as a soldier being the only thing keeping her from hurling chairs through the window in anger. She did scream however, as she finally leaned against the same wall she'd been hitting. Trying to regain composure. She'd stare at the door she wasn't being allowed to pass, a hand briefly reaching for a side arm that wasn't there. Everyone else was celebrating. Except for the ones who had lost friends, but they weren't important. The pressure of so much joy pushing against her own angry was uncomfortable. She could feel it so easily too. So many faces, gleefully moving about the captured fortress. Didn't they get it? With the Apsalus now dead, they could never do another orbital drop like that. It was imperative that she be given a new one to pilot! But they wouldn't care...soldiers who only knew how to fight under the weight of the earth's gravity where unable to truly think outside of the box. That was their failing.

"Here you are." Nick Scryer said as he entered one of the newly acquired classrooms of JOSH-A. Scarth Maheart had tossed most of the furniture in the room against the walls and now occupied a single desk in the dead center of the room. A projector played footage retrieved from Japan's Lugguns during the recent battle. The footage focused on the newly discovered OVERFLAG mobile weapons, one particular unit above the rest.

"This pilot proved himself capable of overwhelming some of our most capable pilots. Even pure-bloods. According to the debriefing, he was even accreditted with single-handedly destroying a Gaw and the Apsalus prototype." Scarth replied. The old man took a sip of his tea, the only item on his desk. His eyes never drifted from the footage.

"Apsalus huh? I guess that means the little bitch is dead." Nick laughed. The chuckle was cut short, as Nick narrowly dodged a desk thrown at his head.

"You shall not speak that way about the Royalty, Drone!" Scarth replied, now standing upright.

Nick just laughed more. "I'm going to miss that about you. I suppose you heard the brass is handing out promotions like candy? We've both been reassigned."

Scarth turned his head back to the footage. "I did not. Ever since the debriefing I have been in this room. A promotion?" Scarth's voice grew distant. He had served the Empire's army for 80 years, longer than any other soldier thanks to his unique condition. But, ever since the EM3 project, he had failed to advance beyond the simple rank of E-2. Scarth had assumed this was a way to control and limit his influence, being of foreign-blood.

"Looks like you've been assigned to a member of the Alaunte family. You just can't help but serve those distant branches of the royal family huh? Well, I'm being shipped back to the Siberian border on Monday, help bolster the defenses after that debacle last week. I wish I could say it was a pleasure, but you know us half-bloods, bastions of truth." Nick chuckled one last time as he flipped off Scarth and mockingly marched out the room.

Scarth stood silent, still shocked at news of a promotion. "Her royalty lies dead. I should inquire at the infirmary and see if any remains were recovered so I may pay my respects."

The girl glared at her guard. It was a quick exchange, but it would feel like an eternity. She was assessing his vulnerabilities, even as a Newtype, one couldn't simply read minds or hearts. No, she was forced to rely on intuition. Orders. Orders, orders, orders; that's all she ever got from these kinds of people. His orders were to make certain she didn't have another outburst. That was legitimate, killing your co pilots tended to put a dampening on the entire morale of a base. There was no doubt that she also fully intended to kill him. He said he saved her life, that could be true. But because of it, that person was able to claim victory over her Apsalus. This was completely unacceptable. For something as luxurious as the mortal form, her pride and honor had been forsaken. Her mother would understand, but how long had it been since they last had a chance to understand one another?

The girl would approach the guard in a rather childish way. Military protocol be damned, it was much easier to manipulate people who forgot just what she did on a daily basis. "I'm fine now, just let me go" As though she really expected that to work. Glares were exchanged and and ended up pouting, as she rubbed her arm. A rise. That was what she was looking for, he was still an idiot man after all. The girl would allow the softest of whines to escape her as the man watched her move back to the window, still rubbing the arm. The question came after a long while. He even used Ohime-sama. For someone denying her things he need not be so respectful, and it's not like she wanted a lot of people to know. Somehow they always did... "I think I just got a little banged up from the batt-" That was all it took. She was already picked up. Apparently he had other orders, and he was either gullible enough or desperate enough to fall into her trap. Yet... now that she had stopped being so angry... her body was killing her. She wasn't really injured, no way, but all those G forces, re-entry. It must have taken a greater toll on her than she would have ever expected. And then there was the failing of her plan, now she had to let a doctor fuss over her. Why couldn't she have her gun back yet?
