Midori sits in the small dining room looking around the table at the commanding officers of the task force she has just received command of. She feels slightly nervous but she refuses to let any of it show on her face. They had just finished their meal. It was a simple affair, just a bowl of soup with a side of rice. As she munches on a slice of orange she watches the submarine commanders. They all seem calm about the current situation. Even though their new C-O is less experienced than they are but they also refuse to let it show. And Midori is the only female among the group. She finishes off her last slice of orange and pushes her plate away.

“Greetings Gentlemen, I am honored to meet you and command you.” States Midori calmly as her eyes travel from face to face. “You are here to assist in making the glory of the Empire greater. When you return to your subs you will find the information on our upcoming actions uploaded to your terminals. I would like you to go over them and if you have any suggestions I want you to send them my way.”

She pauses she looks around once more but this time her face is cold as she lets them know that they better discuss everything if they have any doubts. “You will shame me and the empire if you don’t use everything in your power to assist me. That includes your mind. Remember we are members of the Imperial Navy and we will show the army that we are better than they are. Understood?”

Around the table all their heads nod their understanding. She nods and leans back in her seat. “Any concerns?”

“I think you have laid our fears to rest.” States the commanding officer of the Dai-Rei. “We were almost afraid that we were sent a young commander who was only seeking glory. It will be our honor to serve in the glory of the Empire.”

“Thank you. Now you are dismissed and you may return to your boats.”

With that everyone at the table stands and then bows to each other. Midori nods after they leave and sits down on the bench to and begins to think.
