The cockpit of the Type 61 jostled slightly as Marcus Cohen's team drove through the packed streets of Baltimore. It seemed almost ridiculous in this new age of giant robots and fancy energy weapons for a tank team to be asked for specifically for a mission. For all their size and power though, mobile suits were almost too big to navigate safely under the circumstances.

"Son of a bitch!"

Marcus couldn't help but curse at the circumstances though. A war protest had somehow devolved into a flat out riot, overwhelming the police that had been overseeing the situation. Things had gone even worse when the rioters started heading towards the nearest National Guard armory. Every off-duty soldier and National Guardsman was being summoned to suppress the riot, but Marcus' team had been called for in case things got particularly nasty.

"How bad could it actually be if they need tanks to open for on civilians though?" he asked himself as the team neared the armory.

"Ah shit!" Rusty suddenly barked. "Sir, we've got reports of civilians busting into the armory! Security's got most of it under control, but..."

"But what?" Marcus growled.

But what marched into sight a moment later. Sixteen meters of armed mobile suit, one of the older Tierens, exited the armory grounds, sowing panic as it went for a stroll through the city.

"All units, lock and load!" Marcus ordered. "Some moron's put our people in danger and it's up to us to bring it down!"

The reason regular army suit couldn't be called manifested for the Tieren as it crushed cars beneath its feet and stumbled into a building. Glass and masonry rained down upon the crowd, sending protesters and rioters screaming in panic as they fled the scene. Police looked at each other in confusion, eager to take action but not knowing what would be effective.

"All police forces, this is Ensign Marcus Cohen, American Ground SDF," Marcus called out. "Get the civilians to safety while my teams team with the mobile suit."

The three Type-61s lined up in front of the armory and spun their turrets towards the Tieren. The rioter had found how to operate the suit's Smoothebore cannon and fired, blowing a building to pieces before taking off again.

"Get its attention!" Marcus ordered.

Gunners on top of the three tanks began firing their light machineguns at the Tieren's back, causing minor damage but attracting the suit's attention. It turned to face the tank group, preparing to fire, when Marcus gave the order to fire the main guns. The tanks rocked as they sent 180mm shells flying, slamming into the ponderous suit's torso. It stumbled back as chunks of armor were blasted free. The tanks fired a second barrage that slammed into the mobile suit's waist as it reeled, pushing it over into a flaming wreck. Marcus waved one of his units forward, keeping the machineguns trained on the suit in case it got up.

"All clear, sir," the tank commander reported. "The cockpit's a bloody mess, literally."

"Alright then, secure the area," Marcus ordered. "And call in the firefighters."

By now, the streets were mostly clear of the living. The fury of a mobile suit dispelled notions of rioting in many people, save a few foolhardy looters who paid for their greed with death.
