The North Atlantic Viktoria Kunze, North Atlantic Fleet, 10th Supply Fleet vs 1st Northern Defense Fleet, 2nd Northern Defense Fleet
"Herr Kapitan, we have them in our sights." The First Mate of the Spengler said simply, removing a set of binoculars from his eyes. They were operating under careful radio silence as it was water that the Germans begrudgingly shared with the Americans. A single flare shot from the deck of the Spengler and exploded with a bright red before burning out. In the distance Viktoria Kunze closed her watch "Thats our signal. All hands, crash dive." Viktoria ordered, the large Archangel suddenly turning toward the sea as klaxons alerted the crew that the ship was submerging.
Of all the new models of warships that had come out in recent days, the Archangel was the only one which could perform such a feet, the massive battleship slowly sinking beneath the surface where they came into formation with the infamous U-Boats of the European Empire. Of all the nations, it seemed the Europeans understood how the Japanese had bested the American fleets so easily in the earlier stages of the war. The underwater Mobile Suits did away quickly with the large Aircraft Carriers, and most American ships hilariously lacked an effective means of submarine combat.
But the American's were new, Viktoria thought, giving a soft sigh. If nothing else it was their spirit and determination which was the most threatening. Unlike the Japanese and the Europeans, who had frequent border wars to build their skills against one another, the American's were relatively unskilled due to their isolation. Ultimately, their Power Bloc across the Atlantic was their own undoing so far. That left little to be said about the American Industrial Might, however, and Der Kaiser had summarized that the only way to be safe of such things was to seize control of the Atlantic Ocean in its whole.
"God Bless the Japanese." Viktoria said with a little bit of a chuckle, leaning back into her chair. They had the American's so occupied that they were unable to notice the steady build-up of European Forces at their own door steps and as such they were to be punished for their laxity. It was, afterall, best to take advantage of the situation which the Japanese had created for the American's. For the task of clearing the Atlantic, the Kommissar was chosen.
The Submarine Units broke away from the surface ships and began heading toward the forefront of the battle ground while the Surface ships also prepared. What the American's were unaware most of was the new Spengler Class Aircraft Carrier, which allowed the European Empire to deploy a large number of Mobile Suits or Aircraft. All eyes were on Japan, and it was time to change that.
Each sub captain had its target clearly marked out, the Queen Victoria and the King Edward were the priority targets. If they could neutralize those two ships a majority of the American's Mobile Suit power would be knocked out and thus leaving the rest of the fleet at the mercy of the European's Mobile Suits. Within minutes they were in range of the Carriers.
"SONAR CONTACT! ONE MILE OUT! UNKNOWN MODEL!" While the Vosgulov's were stealthy and able to avoid detection, the Archangel was not quite as subtle but it mattered not. The escort units began to shift position just as each submerged vessel opened fire with a Salvo of Torpedoes. The torpedoes visibly tracked through the water as the Captain of the Queen Victoria gritted his teeth "ALL HANDS BRACE FOR IMPACT! HARD TO PORT!" The Captain shouted as the massive Catamaran tried to evade the torpedoes, one streaked past only to crash into an Arkansas, the Torpedo striking a fatal blow into the ships magazine, resulting in a massive explosion and fire on the deck as the commander ordered all hands to abandon ship. The rest of the Torpedoes slammed into the Catamaran which creaked and churned as explosion after explosion racked its massive hull. Fires broke out across the ship and steering as well as propulsion was lost.
As the Queen Viktoria was now left listing by the current her protectors attempted to surround it. The Trieste began deploying Mobile Suits but it would be a useless gesture as the Submarines launched their Marine Mobile Suits. After a brief underwater duel, the Trieste managed to sink a Vosgulov only to in turn be sunk by the Archangel. The European Marine MS quickly tore the American Union suits apart before moving on to finish off the Catamaran. Several hull punctures and explosions later and the ship was declared lost, all hands abandoning ship as she began to capsize.
The King Edward had established a CAP just in-time for the arrival of the surface fleet, swarms of Infestus and Fly Manta danced in an Aerial Engagement against the Don Escargot's and Dish's as the escort ships below pumped anti-aircraft fire into the skies above. In the distance, the European's fierce new weapons came into the fray. The Jet Dagger's blasting forward on their flight packs took careful aim at the King Edward, pink arcs of energy ripping through the air as beam after beam pierced through the flight deck and fires consumed the ship from the damage.
"THEY HAVE BEAM WEAPONS? IMPOSSIBLE!" The Himalaya's captain shouted as he stared on in horror, until that point the American Union had held the market on Beam Weapons as well as Mobile Suits capable of independent flight like that. Sure, the European's had the DINN, but they had proved fairly useless in competition to the Flag or the Aries. The Captain's life was ended quickly by a single beam shot through the bridge of the ship. With no Aerial Mobile Suits or really anything to counter the relentless European assault the First Northern Defense Fleet was utterly destroyed, the last thing it would see was the Archangel as it emerged from the watery depths. But the fleet wasn't done, now free of their entanglements, they turned their eyes toward rescuing their comrades which were being relentlessly hounded by American forces.
"Charge the Positron Cannon." Viktoria ordered, only to hear shouted responses of JAWHOL. The German Ship made breakneck speed toward the last broadcasted position of the 10th Supply Fleet. For far too long had that fleet been stuck by the relentless hounding of the American's and Viktoria intended to end that as Aircraft and Jet Daggers joined in formation with her. The enemy fleet came into view and began opening fire up toward the Archangel, though most of the fire was ineffective.
"Major, the cannon is 99% Charged." The CIC reported and Viktoria let a smile cross her face "TARGET THE QUEEN MARY! OPEN FIRE!" She barked, the Positron Cannons suddenly unleashing their full power against the Catamaran. It cut through the hull of the ship like a hot knife through butter, the Cancer Mobile Suits struggling to launch only to be enveloped by the massive beam as the Archangel opened fire with all of its remaining weapons at the rest of the fleet.
The King Edward was unable to launch its aircraft, as the Europeans caught it off guard, strafing the flight deck as aircraft tried to launch only to cause them to explode on the deck and cause damage to the ship. The 10th Supply Fleet, taking notice of the battle, also took this chance to engage. Torpedoes streaked across the sea and slammed into the hulls of ships. Viktoria rocked in her ship as the escorts targeted the Archangel exclusively but it would be a short lived fight, the Jet Daggers arriving and cleaning up the remains.
