I had this weird Idea on the way home today. Cause i was thinking, of my now fumbled, action of the day; a rock stuck me in the head and I called him Idea....

Anyways, what I have to suggest to do is some sort of 'Service' to expedite (as said above) traveling time. It would be costly, but not overly so. Using this service would do as described and cut down travel time between 'Friendly' locations. This isn't meant to travel from your base to mine, so don't get any bright ideas. Pricing is still something I haven't pinned down due to my complete lack of understanding of this game, or any games true economy; but I wanted to give it a shot..

[2] Days to [1] Day: 2k
[3] Days to [1] Day: 4k
[4] Days to [1] Day: 8k
[5] Days to [1] Day: 16k

Game logistics I can't fathom, RP wise its a nightmare, and current tech I am unsure of each sides true capabilities. Again this is just a suggestion, which may never be considered or implemented. Though i do see it more possible towards the 'end' of any eventual space race, where ships are almost always necessary but damn expensive. Not in anyways that I am saying this is going to be less expensive for groups of people, just buy the damn ship, but it would help individual players IMO. You may want to hide it behind rank, as though it takes some 'weight' to make this happen.

I didn't scale it any further due to the idea of cutting down more then a 'weeks' worth of actions into a single day. However multiple people doing this in tandem, together what-ever, would of course double the price; if one person was covering for the two. So two units expediting a 5 days travel period would cost 32k all together, this of course doesn't count your NPC units; since nothing in the game does.

Things I haven't thought of in the way it may mess with the game
-Factions using this method to send 'squads' to their boarders to deflect an attack.
-Possible Neutral factions being able to travel freely amongst allied nations.
-Any other relevant flaw with this 'system'.

I like the idea. Makes building a proper defense force for bases/regions even more important.

I think there needs to be a cap on just how much you can expedite though. Maybe half-time or -1/-2 total days tops.

Services are an interesting idea for this.
Other thoughts:
New Action - SPRINT: Expedite Travel, at cost of FATIGUE status.
New Ships - Fast-Travel-Class : Similar to OYW and other such past RPGs. Certain ships/transports can travel at increased speed compared to normal Mobile Weapons and Ships.

Personally, my favorite is the SPRINT action concept, though I like the Services concept as well.

The sprint concept is an interesting one and it would make sense that any expedited travel would cause fatigue as the unit was moving full-steam ahead without any pauses for rest to refresh them.

I like sprint too. Double time with fatigue for each day is right out of The Art of War.
