Midori Murakami vs Pirates

Deep beneath the depths of the Pacific Ocean lurked the true might of the Japanese Navy, the Jukon Class submarine. It was a mundane patrol to say the least. With activity as high as it was in the region Midori didn't expect to come into contact with much in the terms of enemies. After all, the Pacific Ocean was one of the few oceans which could be truly considered 'owned'.

She liked it this way. Quiet and orderly. Everything was in-control and that meant that these patrols usually went off without a hitch but just as she was finishing the last leg of her journey klaxons sounded. The captain rushed from her cabin to the bridge immediately.

"Con Sonar, unidentified target bearing nine zero five!" A voice shouted, the lights in the bridge had taken a red shade as the Submarine was brought to alert. All hands rushed to their stations as Midori took position at the periscope.

"Ensign, bring us to periscope depth." She said calmly, the silent hunter's engines churned as the ship pivoted upwards and began to rise slowly as the Ensign responded "Aye ma'am!" The sea above had been fairly rough, a small storm brewing overhead provided the perfect chance for smugglers and their ilk to skirt by the defensive line.

Sure enough as the Jukon hit periscope depth and Midori peered out across the waves she caught sight of one armed ship. It bore no IFF that signaled it as friend or foe, and had instead suddenly shifted from broadcasting an American civilian IFF to that of an older Japanese Civilian IFF. It was a common tactic of pirates and smugglers to switch IFF once they switched territorial waters. Piracy had become a huge problem in the pacific, and Civilian IFF's were cycled frequently because of this.

"Con Sonar, Two more targets just appeared bearing nine zero five, identified as Pisces. Approaching fast!" The sonar officer reported. Clearly the pirates had realized the jig was up when they'd detected the Jukon . Midori gave a bit of a sigh before she stepped away from the periscope, allowing it to retract.

"All hands battle-stations. Weapons load tubes 1 and 2, deploy the Acguy's!" Midori barked the orders before she assumed position in her captains chair. The Acguy's deployed first as the Torpedo Tubes were loaded. The pirate ship made a turn, firing a depth charge off the side.

"Evasive maneuvers, all ahead full!" Midori ordered, the ship shifting it's position to avoid the depth charge the Jukon avoiding the explosion with minimal damage. Outside the Submarine, the Acguy's were engaged in combat against the Pisces Mobile Suits. Truthfully, the pirates were rather skill-less when it came to their Mobile Suits and the Acguys were making short work of them. One Acguy slamming it's claw into the poor mobile suit before firing it's vulcans into it. The bullets pierced the hull, causing the entire mobile suit to crumble from the sudden decompression.

The Pisces did not fare much better as the Acguy avoided a barrage of torpedoes and returned fire with it's vulcans. Once more the rounds tore into the hull of the Pisces and resulted in explosive decompression. It was time to move in for the kill, the Acguy's falling back as more depth charges were loaded.

In silence Midori just grinned, a hand raised in the air silently dropped as she approached the periscope once more. The submarine came to a halt, the periscope raised so she could witness her handy work as the two torpedoes streaked toward their target. Both scored a solid hit, the enemy ship exploding into a ball of fire as the pirates met their end.
