As the commander-type Zaku II strode through the training camp, recruits took a moment from practicing their firing drills to salute. Ranmaru Alaunte observed the practicing soldiers with satisfaction, pleased with their progress since he had arrived at the Korean training camp to observe the application of newly-developed training techniques. He had been ordered to survey the sight as a morale booster, giving the troops the feeling like their commanders cared about how they were progressing through the ranks.
"It was a good idea not to get out of my suit," Ranmaru thought to himself, moving on to where Zaku Is were participating in melee combat using deactivated heat hawks. "The fresh paint was also a good move."
The Zaku Is paused from their exercise to show their respect as well. Before they could return to their drills though, their instructor stepped forward in his own Command Type.
"Pardon me, sir, but would you care to give the recruits a demonstration of superior melee combat?" the training commander asked.
"Of course, Rikugun Shōi," Ranmaru said, stepping forward.
One of the recruits handed him a heat hawk and stepped back, leaving him alone in the sparring circle with another rookie. They saluted each other before beginning their battle, clashing their blades together and pushing. Ranmaru stepped to the side, letting the Zaku I overreach and stumbled forward, giving Ranmaru the opportunity to press his blade against the rookie's back.
"You see what he did, poozers?" the trainer asked. "He didn't just use brute force to try battering his opponent down. Keep that in mind for the next drills."
The commander Zaku II returned the heat hawk and walked away to observe another group of training soldiers. The new program seemed to be very efficient and would likely produce superior results.
"I think we've seen all we need to," Ranmaru told his squad mates. "We'll hit the mess and then head out."
Outcome: Ranmaru Alaunte wins Ranmaru Alaunte: 4 Xp
