“More proof that they only care for their military budgets and those in the North,” spat one of guerrillas as he targeted the motionless Tallgeese with a SAM launcher.


“This should show them the error of their ways. Are the others ready?”

“Yeah.”

“On my mark. Three. Two. One. Mark.”

A hail of missiles erupted from around the SOL team, most of them passing harmlessly between them, but a few scored telling blows on the armor of the Mobile Suits. Crow’s Aries found itself with the left shoulder air intake of its thrusters obliterated from a missile.

“Awh, damnit,” Crow cursed as he raised the Aries chain gun and fired into the forest where the missiles had originated.

“Crow, are you going to explode?”

“Not today, I don’t think so.”

“Can you get out of the way anyway?”

“Sure thing.”

Crow’s Aries stepped out of the clearing and into the forest, pushing down trees with its ponderous bulk as the Tallgeese’s massive Verniers flared to life, scorching the ground and leaving a ring of fire in its wake as the Tallgeese shot up into the air, more missiles from the Separatists snaking after it, only to be consumed by the gouts of flame that erupted from the thrusters.

Nelson was slammed back into his seat and rocked by the explosions, but he endeavored, knowing that the less armored and slower Aries could be taken out. He needed to present a much more tempting target. A stream of tracer rounds betrayed their point of origin and Nelson aimed the Dobergun at the truck that had somehow been grafted to an Anti-Air Vulcan.

The smaller bullets, meant to shred aircraft and missiles, chipped away at the Tallgeese’s armor and Nelson fired. The explosion that propelled the shell forward was deafening to those on the ground and it surged forward, through the hail of AA fire and crashing into the ground directly behind the bed of the truck, sending a blossoming sphere of crimson and orange into the air that consumed the truck, the gun and its contents.

Other Separatists fired recoilless rifles and missiles at the Tallgeese, each one eating away at the Tallgeese’s body as Nelson fired the Dobergun again and again, leaving a ring of craters nearly a mile wide as the powerful Dobergun’s shells tore through materiel, men and the Earth itself before it too, was rocked by an explosion that nearly knocked the Tallgeese out of the air.

Grunting with effort, Nelson surged toward the self propelled mortar that had remained hidden at the edge of the forest. Its first shot had obliterated the magazine and clip assembly of the Tallgeese, rending the weapon useless. With covering fire from both Gypsy and Crow, Nelson ejected the gun from the Tallgeese’s shoulder, sending it hurtling toward the ground.

Igniting the Tallgeese’s beam saber, he pushed the Tallgeese forward, stopping directly in front of the mortar before raising the beam saber up over the Mobile Suit’s head and bringing it down, cleaving the mortar in twain and leaving a deep gash in the ground as the mortar’s ammunition and fuel exploded around the Tallgeese’s arm.

Outcome: Nelson Robinson and Team SOL encounter South American Separatists. Said Separatists encounter explosions and beam sabers.
