The Eagle Swoops Down Part I

Side 3, Imperial Palace

The approach to the throne was a long and dark one, guards who had their faces concealed stood at the ready, armed with Katana and assault rifles. Even they were kept at a distance, however, a mandatory distance of one hundred feet was kept from the Empress at all times. The hall was a lavish one and it concluded at a massive throne where the Empress sat, staring out over the sleek marble approach way. While the original Imperial Palace remained on Earth, a mighty replica was constructed in Side 3 as well as Tokyo-II. At first, Tokyo II served as temporary Capital of the Empire after the Empire expanded into the reaches of space, then it returned to Tokyo where it remained until the outset of the war.

With the war on and the treaty preventing fighting within the colonies it was deemed more practical to move the Heavenly Sovereign to Side 3 and keep the Imperial Family mostly secluded from the violence. Tokyo continued to act, however, as the cultural and militaristic Capital of the Empire. Few even realized that the Empress had been safely removed to space, given how little she is seen by the public.

The doors to the palace burst open and a man wearing a formal uniform approached. He was stopped by the guards and searched, allowed to pass, stopped again, searched, allowed to pass, stopped, searched, until finally he was able to reach the one-hundred foot mark. He prostrated himself before the Empress, Katana placed upon the floor before her. The woman simply shifting in her seat as she leans up, voice calling across the way

"Why have you come?" The Admiral did not understand, blinking as a Court Attendant slowly strode across the floor, one of the Empresses many handmaidens and the only ones allowed to come within a hundred feet of the Empress outside of the Imperial Family.

"Her Imperial Majesty wishes to know what news you bring..." The handmaiden replied, the Admiral giving a blink before nodding his head and raising up.

"Tennō Heika, our forces have crossed the border of Canada and everything is going as planned. We are ready to proceed with the attack." The Admiral announced, while the handmaiden translated it back to the Empress who closed her eyes and seemed to sink back into her throne. Beside her emerged the Crown Prince, a man wearing a uniform similar to that of the Admiral, his hands clasped behind his back. While the Admiral had temporarily arisen, he resumed his position at the appearance of the Prince who gave a small nod as his Mother slowly stood from her throne, leaned to her son and whispered before disappearing, flanked by her hand maidens.

"Apologies, Admiral, Mother has gone to pray and meditate." The Prince replied, speaking in plain Japanese now "Arise." He commanded, the Admiral rising up and nodding his head to the Prince as the two marched through the halls of the Palace to the Warroom "Send the signal, begin operations at once."

Western Canada, JOSH-A

"There's no doubt about it." An America General said, mashing his cigar out in an ashtray. He was sitting at a table in JOSH-A, surrounded by his colleagues as the last scouting reports were tossed on the desk "How could they let this happen?" An Admiral mused before taking a drink from his glass of water.

"We were certain California was the target, Jackson." A woman replied, sighing heavily as she leaned back in her chair.

"We still can't be certain it's not. This could be a diversion." Another argued. The discussion? The Japanese force encroaching fast on their territory and why none of the mass forces built up in California had reacted. Orders had gone out to secure the West Coast and still there were reports that several of their forces had broken away to Central America for unknown reasons. While it wasn't clear, a Test Pilot seemed to have arrived in the area not long ago, accompanied with several Union Flags. They would be useful at least.

"Burn everything." A sturdy, deep, voice boomed from the end of the table. The highest ranking member present leaned forward over the desk and came to light, a thick gray beard covered his face "We cannot let it come to light what we were working on here. The consequences would be disastrous. Burn everything sensitive and we'll leave while they keep them distracted." The man concluded, pushing a cigarette out against an ashtray as he rose to his feet.

"What about the soldiers?" The woman piped up in response to the orders.

"Tell them nothing. They should be able to keep our enemy occupied." The Field Marshall replied, the woman opened her mouth to protest but he simply lifted an arm and silenced her.

"You have your orders." With that the Field Marshall departed with his personal staff. Deep within the confines of JOSH-A documents were being quickly shredded and tossed into burning waste bins, hidden from the eyes of the normal soldiers who were digging in for a fight, unaware that their officers had already decided to abandon the base. All the while the Supreme Commanders of the American Union boarded a secret evacuation train and set off via underground tunnel to safety. They would shift their main focus to Jaburo after this.

The Eagle Swoops Down Part I

Western Canada - First Contact

Midori sat with her breath held. Every Jukon in her battlegroup had been on silent running for awhile now, they were in advance of the main invasion fleet. All unnecessary electronics had been shut down and Midori kept an eye on a pocket watch, waiting for the hour to strike. Tense minutes beneath the surface as they evaded detection seemed to drag on and then suddenly it happened. There were no loud klaxons or the chiming of an alarm clock, just the simple tick as the hand on the watch moved and Midori closed the pocket watch.

"Emergency Surface, load all missile compartments, launch all Mobile Suits!" Midori ordered as she dropped into her Captain chair and the Jukons suddenly roared to life, lights returning to the bridge of the ship as the crew hurried back and forth to carry out their functions. Steadily the ships surfaced and Mobile Suits deployed from the insides, in the distance behind them numerous flying aircraft of the primary invasion force came into view.

"ALL UNITS OPEN FIRE!" Midori shouted as she threw her arm down, missiles pouring out into the air above the Jukon's and straking to their targets. Minovsky Missiles exploded first, silencing communication and cutting out radar to their enemies, followed by MIRV Missiles which rained down upon the unsuspecting 4th Canadian Guard.

Though small and relatively ineffectual the rounds were capable of damaging the Big Trays and even capable of destroying Mobile Suits that had the misfortune to be walking on the ground along side them or standing atop the massive battleships.

"SIR ITS A SURPRISE ATTACK!" One of the helmsmen shouted from the bridge of a Big Tray, the hoverjets of an adjacent Big Tray being knocked out by the sudden barrage of missiles causing it to crash down into the hard ground beneath it. The massive ship was disabled and left helpless in the ground as the Jukon's deployed Mobile Suits began to claim a beach-head, making short work of the Leo's as the Tieren's fired blindly in the direction of the Missile Barrage.

One man, however, stood atop his Dodai. His Zaku I had it's arms crossed as he flew straight into the hail of gunfire, his co-pilot cursing the old man for making him agree to this as the Dodai released it's package and Scarth jumped, following the bombs. He was in a rage which would not be stopped, the Zaku landing atop a big tray and putting it's fist straight through the bridge of the ship, killing its command crew before grabbing hold of one of the cannons, forcing it to the side and causing it to fire on another Big Tray, causing it to explode as well, before Elbow dropping off the Big Tray and onto a Leo as his Dodai comrade fled the scene.

"Fire one more and then dive. We're done here." Midori said simply, the Jukon's firing their last salvo's off into the air and raining hell down upon the Big Tray's from afar as Scarth was busy wrestling the head off of a Leo, he commandeered it's beam saber, igniting it and stuffing it through the torso of the Leo.

"Pathetic!" Scarth barked, drawing the saber from the torso of the Leo "IS THERE NONE AMONG YOU THAT WILL FACE ME!?" Scarth roared out as he crushed his Zaku I's foot down onto the remains of the Leo before charging forward, clashing his pilfered Beam Saber against that of another Zaku.

The Union Fleet wasn't sure how to when the Acguy's and Z'Gok's emerged on the surface and began to fire Mega Particle Weaponry at them. No armor that the Big Tray's possessed could protect them from the beams which sliced through like the ships had nothing but rubber padding protecting them.

Just when it looked like all was going according to plan, however, a loud bang erupted on the scene. Throatling ahead of his forces, Michael Haley gritted his teeth as he pushed the Overflag to it's limit. Firing a Salvo of missiles he struck a gaw in the wing, causing it to rupture into flames, it's cargo attempting to bail out as the massive cargo plane crashed to a fiery death below. Next behind him came the Super Sonic Transports, firing their laser cannons close to the ground they bisected several Acguy's and caused them to detonate before the Overflag was joined by by a squad of Union Flags, which thrust forward toward the attacking fleet, only to find themselves intercepted by heavy anti-fir fire. A union flag exploded, and then another, as the Gaw's fired their Mega Particle Cannons forward.

"FALL BACK TO JOSH-A!" A woman's voice shouted over the comm to Haley, just as he swooped around and fired his Linear Gun's into the back of a transport plane, causing it to plummet to the ocean below and explode, the Super Sonic Transports making one more pass before the Union Flags loaded up into the Super Sonic Transports, the Last Big Tray on the ground erupting in an explosion as the forces retreated back toward JOSH-A.

[Result]
-Michael Haley and Task Force Eagle, moved to JOSH-A
-Japanese Invasion Continues toward JOSH-A.

Note: I will not be updating EXP and damage and all that shit until the end of the event. Those of you who joined are stuck in this until the end. kthx.

The Eagle Swoops Down Part II

Earth Orbit

"RELAY THE MESSAGE TO COMMAND!" The Captain yelled hastily, a bright streak of energy narrowly missing the bridge of the Battleship, several bursts of energy streaking forward in return fire as arcs of energy danced delicately above the pearl that was Earth. A ship beside the lead crusier was hit dead on, the beams forcing it off course and knocking the ship into the atmosphere where it burned up and streaked across the sky over California.

"All batteries, fire!" The Captain of the Japanese battleship ordered, the turrets of all ships pivoting toward the American's attempt to hastily defend their skies, the blasts of energy streaking away and slamming into each of the remaining cruisers, destroying them. The action had finally come to a close high above Earth as the Japanese Captain settled into his seat aboard the Musai. The American forces weren't able to get the warning out fast enough, broken typeset communication reaching the American Headquarters at Jaburo was barely of any use.

Hovering amid the fleet was the Apsalus II, towed between two Papua Class supply ships, the young Watanabe Fuuka watched the space battle with mild interest as she hovered in place in the low gravity, sipping juice from the container provided to her by her co-pilot. The Captain of the Papua slowly entering the observation where the Princess was casually floating in place.

"We have a message from the Kaigun Taishō, he wishes you luck in your mission." The Captain stated, hands quickly snapping a secret document closed "It wasn't what we had in mind for the Apsalus, but this is as good a mission as any." The older man said with a simple sigh. He was the chief of the Apsalus Project and it was about time to see his masterwork in action. See, the original plan was to use the Apsalus on Jaburo, but Command had been unable to ascertain the exact location of Jaburo. What little they knew of Jaburo came from minor defectors that seemed to indicate that it was just a massive production sight for the Union's Mobile Weapon projects. JOSH-A, on the otherhand, was the public Headquarters of the American Union Self-Defense Forces. Reports on that base were a dime a dozen and the exact location was well known to the Japanese.

Fuuka remained silent as the Papua shifted position and the Earth now occupied the entire view port that she had been staring at. She had always enjoyed the view of Earth from space and part of her was glad that the war had been confined for the most part to Earth. There wasn't much of a point in involving the Colonies, she was too absorbed in her own thoughts and the juice to give much of a reply to the Captain, simply turning her head toward him and blinking as he checked a watch.

"Anyways Hime-sama. Preparations are almost complete. Please proceed to the Apsalus." The Captain finally said with a sigh as he moved back toward the Bridge of the Papua. The young girl just sighed as she pulled the juice from her mouth and fastened her helmet atop her head. Her co-pilot had already taken up residence in the cockpit by the time she arrived. The Apsalus was quickly upgraded during their time in Space, the problem with the Minovsky Craft System was corrected and the weapon system was installed allowing for it to carry out it's mission.

The Eagle Swoops Down Part II

JOSH-A

The cannons roared loudly as shells splashed down against the ocean in the distance, the artillery emplacements of JOSH-A trying fruitlessly to sink the Jukon Class ships which hid deep beneath the surface toward the distance. The ships would only surface long enough to fire a barrage of Minovsky Particle Missiles, further dampening the capabilities of the booming artillery. Effectively JOSH-A had been cut off from the world and those left defending it were oblivious to the fact that their commanding officers had left them behind as decoys.

The night passed with everyone tense. The aircraft that had so brazenly destroyed the Canadian Guard had taken inland positions as they encircled Jaburo, landing and setting up make shift camps in the distance as the Transport Planes unloaded their forces Haruka oversaw the operation, setting up logistics in a field tent as she micromanaged the positioning of the unloading troops. The transport planes would be useless to them, but the Gaw's could still be used for fire support and for paradrop operations in support of the Mobile Suits which were stuck ground pounding it up. Beside the map that was strewn across the table Haruka examined a copy of the operation Orders. Thus far everything had been proceeding according to the established time-table which made it easier to manage things. Naturally Haruka was not privy to the entire Battle Plan, there were those of Higher Rank that knew more than she and she was fine with that.

At another tent, Scarth was receiving praise for an event he only narrowly recalled. It all seemed to be a blur for the old battle-hardened warrior. He had been engineered by the State to be a superior warrior, the drawback was he didn't listen to any orders and the express extent of his usefulness at times was basically 'Let the old fool go wild until he tires himself out'. The unfortunate side effect was that he was strangely good at inspiring friendly troops while also putting the fear of the Empress in his enemies. Hell, who else could destroy several new Mobile Suits and a Battleship all in a Zaku I? But Scarth cared little for the attention, shoving the hopeful young recruits away before storming back into the cockpit of his Zaku I, where he watched them. It was enough to shoo the young recruits back to their duty and give Scarth a break.

In response to the Japanese Invasion the American's were at wits end. Sleep had become a commodity as they constantly cycled through false alarms and patrol cycles to prepare for the ultimate battle. Some people even thought that they could still wait the Japs out, but it was looking less and less likely. Hell, if it wasn't for the Minovsky Missiles exploding overhead every now and then the American's would almost think that the Japanese had simply abandoned the entire operation.

5:59 AM, Local Time, and Michael Haley was staggering out of his bunk. He had a pain in his chest from the previous day of pushing the Overflag to it's limit and his alarm had gone off only moments earlier to alert him that it was time to move out and relieve the local patrols. Not that much sleep could be had, as every now and again the massive howitzers would open fire in the direction that they assumed the enemies were. It was fruitless and a waste of ammo, Michael thought, but at the same time it was nice to hear. It meant that they were still in the fight, still in control. He pulled his uniform on and opened the door to his quarters just as a blonde in a Red Uniform was fixing to knock.

"Shouldn't you have been evacuated?" Michael asked immediately, a look of surprise across his face at the observation of the woman who was obviously a civilian contractor. She gave a small laugh and shook her face "Unfortunately I'm considered essential personnel...Untill orders come down I have to hold the fort like everyone else." The woman replied, glancing toward the pilot before she shifted her stance "I was just asked to provide you with this information." She said, handing over a pile of documents which had been left behind by the Civilian Researchers that were located at JOSH-A "It's data on the Overflag. If you're interested we can begin fine tuning the Flag's in your Task Force to match the specifications...With the newly finished safety instruments."

"So why are you asking?" Michael seemed confused, but the woman in the red suit just gave a nervous laugh before leaning back against a wall "It's unsafe. Even with the safety measures...well..they're untested." She pointed out, watching as Michael flipped through the documents. He just gave a sigh before nodding "Go through with it. We need the boost in power." It might be a decision he would one day regret, but doing nothing seemed like a worse situation.

"I'll pass along the word along." The woman replied, taking the folders back and marching off to give orders to the mechanics as Michael proceeded toward the Hangar to board his Overflag. It wouldn't be bad having a few wingmen in the air that could at least try to keep up.

The Eagle Swoops Down Part II

JOSH-A

Midori emerged onto the bridge with a stretch and a yawn as she once more checked a pocket watch. 6:10 AM. The Union Patrols would be in the Middle of switching out if they stayed punctual, which it seemed that they did so. The woman collapsed down into her chair and stretched her body as she held a cup of hot coffee, taking a small sip out of it. The Sonar pinged to life, the Naval Contacts of the Union were holding just out of her range as they had been the night before but more importantly the Catamaran's were cycling as their patrols landed on the decks of the carriers, the female captain took a small sip from her coffee again. The Jukon's were notorious for their stealth and the Minovsky Particle interference that they had been putting out had played hell with most of JOSH-A's long range scanners.

"Well." Midori said with an amused kind of voice as she set her coffee aside "It's time." She snapped the watch closed and propelled her self from her chair "Up periscope." She ordered, the periscope surfacing as she grabbed ahold of it and peered out, a grin across her face as one hand rose into the air. All through the task force pilots were climbing into their Mobile Suits and silently slipping out. The Stealthy Acguys were perfect for this job, and Sebastion was just the man to lead them. Strapped into his Z'gok his suit was the next to silently exit the Jukon as they set a steady course forward. It was silent running for the Z'gok and it's Acguy comrades, as close to the enemy line as they could get before Midori dropped her hand.

A signal went out across the task force and each Jukon opened fire, torpedoes streaked forward through the sea and the Catamaran's crew went crazy. Orders were screamed but there wouldn't be enough time to evade them all. Bracing for impact, the crew breathed a sigh of relief when nothing happened. It was only then that they realized the terrible truth, their entire Minefield had just been neutralized.

The aquatic suits suddenly burst fully to life as they stormed the bottom of the Catamaran Class ships, the skilled Acguy pilots firing their rockets at the Catamaran, the explosives targeting the primary turbines of the massive ships. Soon, both ships found themselves crippled as the Acguy's and the Z'gok fired their Mega Particle Cannons up into the belly of the two Catamaran's while their destroyer escorts hastily dropped depth charges. In a panic the base defenses fired their torpedoes, but with the proximity of the suits toward the Catamaran's they were barely effective. A single Acguy was struck by a Torpedo and exploded as the Catamaran took two torpedos from her own forces, the massive ship creaking and trembling from the explosions as the Mega Particles fired point blank into the bottom of the ship caused massive damage. Abandon Ship was ordered just as two more Acguy's had been destroyed and the suits were signaled to return to their ships.

Back aboard the Jukon's Midori ordered one more barrage, even if it meant risking their position. The torpedoes streaked out, this time loaded with explosive ammunition and set on a course to the remaining disabled Catamaran. They sailed through and impacted their targets, the massive ship being torn open by the torpedoes soon began taking on massive amounts of sea water. Though severely crippled, the Jukon's could not down the remaining Catamaran.

The final barrage was not without cost, however, as JOSH-A zeroed in on their enemies they unleashed fury upon the submarines, which were forced to best a hasty retreat to a new location, one now limping behind the pack and a handful of Mobile Suits down.

It was just the beginning of the day, however, as Zaku Cannon's suddenly boomed to life from inland, their bodies crouched down or on all fours to support the recoil of their massive artillery pieces which began shelling the enemy fleet and artillery positions from the other side as the submarines, at the same time, Mobile Suits whirred to life and Zaku's marched ever onwards through thick forest toward the site of JOSH-A. The fighting was about to take on a new face as the Leo's began pouring out of the secret exits to the Underground Base and Flag's and the newly outfitted Overflags took to the air.

In the distance, a Zaku I stood, it's arms folded infront of it's chest as it stood upon a Dodai, behind it were the sun and an entire fleet of Gaws. The old and now empty Transport planes were also among the fleet, the pilots wearing the flag of their Empire about their heads as they pushed their engines as hard as they could, driving the massive transports ahead of the fleet. The Zaku I lifting it's arm in a simple salute to the transport planes that went forward to die. The first barrage of anti-air missiles were directed at these transports, who opened fire with their anti-air machine guns targeting any Union Aircraft and missiles that they could. One plane was hit, a missile slamming into it's wing and so the pilot gripped the controls and forced it into a downward course, targeting a small group of Tieren's the transport increased speed and slammed directly into the Tieren's, erupting into a massive ball of flames.

Once more the Dodai thrust it's self forward as Scarth jumped from atop the Bomber, the Bomber sending a hail of bombs down below on the enemy. These Leo's were more skilled than the one that Scarth had done combat with previously as the Zaku I began the elegant dance of death with the Leo, dodging and parrying the Beam Saber attacks as another transport erupted into flames in the back ground.

The Combat had begun for real now, the Gaw's dropping their Mobile Suit compliments from the back of the massive aircraft. The Zaku's turning their Machine Gun's toward the Spearheads which attempted to intercepted them, the 120mm Shells easily cutting the planes out of the air.

In the distance, Himuro Hatsuharu had set up an artillery position, the Dabude's massive guns opening firing and sending forth varying degrees of death and destruction on his enemies. Flak cannons roared to life as the Dabude marched forward, backing up the land based advance, its flak cannons tearing Spearheads and Don Escargots out of the sky and providing support for the ground troops.

Meanwhile, the Gaw's which had unloaded their Mobile Suit Compliment continued flying forward, this time a new thing falling from behind the Gaw's as hundreds of high-explosive ordinance rained down upon the Union's lines, destroying handfuls of tanks and defensive emplacements. Two gaws were quickly taken down, however, as the Spearheads shifted focus from the Mobile Suits to the Gaw Carriers.

The last of the transport planes was finally taken down just in time for Scarth to ram his Heathawk through the head of a Leo and straight down its torso, killing the pilot and utterly destroying the Mobile Suit. With all Mobile Suits on the ground now the invasion proceeded as planned, the Zaku II's avoiding beam fire from the Leo's who did their best with their primitive beam rifles, though many had opted to use the Dober Gun's or the Machine Gun's, finding them to be far more practical on land. One such Leo opened fire with two Dober Guns, taking aim at a Gaw flying over head, the two rounds causing the massive carrier to come crumbling down onto the ground before the Leo its self was taken apart by concentrated fire from a line of Zaku's.

The Tragos fared a little better, engaging in a long-range war with the Zaku Cannons and the Dabude, while the Dodai's which had accompanied most of the Zakus were now put to use attempting to strafe Leos and slow moving Tierens. The Tragos would suffer a fatal blow, as the Dabude's cannons struck true and destroyed a group of three.

"This is no Zaku!" A voice cried, one of Japan's newest models came bursting forward, driving its heat sword through the chest of a Leo, cutting the unit clean in half before it spun to the side and threw its heat rod at another, the tentacle like whip curling about the leg of a Leo and suddenly sending an electric shock through the suit which rendered its electronics useless before it drove the heat sword into it.

Task Force Eagle deployed, though hesitant on the idea of leaving the coast, Michael understood that the Overflags were needed to hault the advance of the Gaw's. The Supersonic Transports followed close behind the Overflags as they blasted forward at near insane speeds before one suddenly suffered a terrible malfunction and became engulfed in flames. The safety settings of the hastily improved Mobile Suit had failed and Michael would mourn the loss later. At the moment, however, the pain in his chest was not subsiding and he gritted his teeth. The Overflag unleashed another barrage of missiles, targeting the wings of a Gaw and taking it down just as he had done before the Overflag blasted away before any of the Zaku's below could get a lock on it.

His Wingmen met mild success, not used to the sudden G force some of them struggled to acquire solid targets and often missed the Gaw's making their usefulness relatively small. The Supersonic Transports fared even worse, on to their shenanigans the Gaws would target the Supersonic Transports and focus fire their Mega Particle Cannons just as one began to strafe the suits on the deck. The transport was quickly downed and send into a flaming wreck on the ground below. But overall, the Union seemed to be winning the pitched battle.

"Just a little bit longer..." Haruka groaned as the Zaku II Commander type jumped out of hiding and fired its Zaku Bazooka into the head of a Leo, she was providing close fire support as well as recon data to the rest of the squads. It seemed that her squad was one of the few capable of doing such and with the Zaku Recon Type, reliable targeting data was fed back to the Dabude and to the other Zaku Cannons, who focused their fire on gatherings of enemy units. Type 61's dashed across the field of battle however "COME ON YOU COWARDS, DO YOU WANT TO LIVE FOREVER!?" The cigar smoking tank commander shouted, only to be met with a cheer from his squad mates. The tank ramping off a mound of dirt was sent barreling toward the enemy lines as several smoke canisters fired from each of the tanks, which pivoted their turrets and opened fire at the nearest Zaku I they could find. The shells were quick to bring the Zaku I Land Warfare Type down, the mobile suit falling over paralyzed.

"JUST DONT STOP MOVING!" The Tank Command hollered via the limited line of communication he had with his fellow tankers. Though considered obsolete by most standards, the Type 61 was still a frighteningly effective weapon en masse and alot of Union bases still had plenty of grizzled old Tank Crews itching to prove their worth on the battlefield against newfangled Mobile Suits.

In the air, things faired better for the Union. Though most of the Supersonic Transports had been lost the Overflags were steadily getting the hang of it and another Gaw was brought crashing down onto the battlefield below as the Aries units were launched to provide close-air support to the Leo's below which seemed to be having a difficult time fighting their more experienced counter-parts.

"Almost..." Michael grunted, before he suddenly stopped. His eyes went wide and he wretched, the inside of his helmet suddenly being covered in Blood as the Overflag transformed into a Mobile Suit and narrowly avoided a crash landing "Get him and fall back!" One of the other Overflags barked, grabbing hold of Michael the Overflags pulled back toward JOSH-A as Leo's attempted to cover their withdraw. Likewise, the Gaws began to circle back toward their own lines as the Union Aerial superiority proved too much for them.

Aboard the submarine and inside the Zaku II Commander type, simultaneous smiles crossed the faces of the female Officers, who each glanced at their own method of keeping time.

"It's time." Haruka said with relief, her Zaku II Commander Type turning its gaze toward the sky as several glistening streaks came into view.

The Eagle Swoops Down Part II

Orbit

"Everything is going according to plan. The drop will be in fifteen minutes." The Captain of the Musai informed a distant party, saluting before the communication ended and his eyes cast out over the observation deck toward the HLV's which sat poised over their target below. It was unexpected, never before had such a tactic been performed in war. Typically the HLV's were used to ferry various things up to space without the assistance of Mass Drivers and were typically used to carry supplies to the colonies and precious resources. In this case, Mobile Suits and various other war goods had been tossed inside the HLV's and they were to be dropped straight into the battlefield. It was Japan's trump card that the Union would not see coming.

Aboard the Apsalus II Fuuka waited impatiently, performing their final checks over and over again. It was almost time for her part of the operation as text orders appeared on screen before her she gave a simple nod but did not bother relay them to her co-pilot.

The Eagle Swoops Down Climax

JOSH-A

Scarth found himself once more locked in fierce combat, spinning to the side as he fired his Zaku Bazooka into the torso of a Leo with one arm, the other arm bringing his heat hawk down onto a Tieren, cutting into the cheap imitation Zaku. His rage only seemed to grow with every attack, blasting forward as his own insanity fueled his combat abilities, he skillfully dodged attacks thanks to his genetic enhancements which put him on par with a Newtype and Coordinator in terms of awareness, his suit continued its rampage onwards as Zaku II's began to push forward in support.

When the Type 61's became too much of a bother, cracker grenades were fired off into the air, the devices exploding and raining death down upon the tanks much to the dismay of their commander as several of the old war machines found themselves destroyed by the cracker grenades. The Goufs pushed the hardest, the newest machine capable of fighting onpar with the Union's newest units, and capable of easily doing away with the Tieren which was easily the Union's first attempt at a Mobile Suit.

From her observation post Haruka smirked, the Zaku Cannons had done a good job of softening the enemy defenders up but their side had, for the most part, lost the air earlier in the fight as Spearheads and Don Escargot screeched over head, attempting to strafe various different Zaku's with varying degrees of success and failure. Dodai were forced to shift their focus from bombing Tieren's to acting as an almost Air Vanguard, though by no means fighter aircraft, the Dodai were about the closest thing to real air power that Japan had deployed at the moment.

Still, the Dabude was doing amazing things with the targeting information that was still being fed to it by Haruka's team-mate, the massive shells capable of causing extravagant degrees of destruction upon whatever they even landed near. Things had gotten a bit dicey, as JOSH-A decided to deploy several big tray class ships to return fire in the direction of the Dabude, which forced the walking battleship to frequently shift positions, downplaying its artillery role and making it focus more on anti-aircraft. Zaku Cannons stilll raged on as they rained shells onto their enemies and blasted the base.

In the infirmary, Michael Haley was being treated for his injury. Though it was strongly advised against, the Flag Pilot rose from his bed and snapped his uniform back into place before setting off back toward the Hangars, the entire base rocking every now and again as artillery fire struck it. In the distance, the Jukon Class ships had fallen back far beyond the range of their Naval Counterparts and rose to the surface again. The Minovsky Interference meant that wireless communication had become difficult for the Jukon's but they had pre-set target information for the base. Binoculars turned toward the field of battle which was illuminated by various explosions and Midori fed corrected data toward her fellow captains. The plan was a simple one, each of the Jukon's suddenly firing a barrage of missiles from far in the distance while the bases Howitzers were focused on trying to hit the Dabude and Zaku Cannons.

The missiles separated high above the enemy lines and suddenly hundreds of smaller explosive devices rained down upon the enemy lines, tearing Leo and Tieren apart alike as well as some of the more primitive forces fielded by JOSH-A in its defense. The defenders were caught off-guard by the sudden barrage of missile fire and the Howitzers shifted focus to try and hone in on the Submarines, but by the time they could shift focus, the Zaku Cannons opened fire once more, and the Dabude locked down, firing its massive guns as well forcing the base to divide its focus. The Jukons fired another barrage but were struck with surprise when a shell slammed into the damage Jukon and sent it up in a fiery blaze. The other Jukons dived back beneath the depths and once again the Marine Mobile Suits deployed as the Jukons pressed onwards.

"WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT" Haruka shouted as a mass of red suddenly appeared in the sky and before she knew what was happening streaks of beamu were pouring down onto the invading Japanese forces, sending several Zaku's up in flames.

"That was a Noventa Cannon, ma'am." The Zaku Recon's pilot responded with a bit of a bemused express "Focusing fire on it now." The Zaku Cannon piped up, the coordinates of the Noventa Cannon being relayed to the rest of the Japanese Artillery, which began firing in its general direction hoping to knock it out.

Just when the battle seemed to be going in the favor of the Americans, several red streaks blitzed across the sky as the HLV's re-entered the atmosphere, the massive cargo ships darting past the American lines and parachuting down to safe landings as the newest of Japanese suits exited, Dom's suddenly tearing across the field of battle in packs of 3, demolishing anything that stands in their way as the Gouf's begin making short work of the Leo's. Magella Attack Tanks, Dopps, and Komusai sent to support the troops on the Aerial front swarm forth along side the forces as Infantry deploys as well.

The tide was beginning to turn on all fronts, the Aqutic Mobile Suits blitzed across the Ocean, this time the Z'goks leading the charge as their Mega Particle Cannons tore into the hulls of the Arkansas Class ships and made quick work of them, Torpedoes from the Jukon's were enough to sink the already crippled Catamaran that remained.

Meanwhile, the last of the research staff were loaded into Medea's which set out on an emergency launch, flying over the heads of the Marine Mobile Suits and flying off toward the coast of the Western United States in an attempt to escape the coming oblivion.

Almost as if on cue, the Apsalus II began its descent, going faster than it had ever gone as Fuuka clutched the controls tight. There was a reason she had been chosen for this mission. Her ruthless nature as a child would allow her to kill thousands of people without so much as a passing thought about whether it was right or wrong, the Mobile Armor glowed red as it descended down toward JOSH-A. The fighting on the ground had steadily shifted to the side of Japan, the Overflags launched, the Apsalus suddenly broke through the orbit and stopped above the JOSH-A Complex.

Inside the massive Mobile Armor, and over the communication channels Japanese Pop Music blared across the channels as Fuuka clutched the controls and the weapons system came online, the front of the Apsalus II glowing bright as she smirked "Ja ne." The girl said playfully before squeezing the trigger. Blinding light filled the air as the super-powered Mega Particle Cannon fired straight down, the Mega Particles superheating the Earth beneath them and melting it away, causing a flood of lava to pour into JOSH-A as the beam expanded in length and the Mobile Armor began to slowly pivot, cutting a massive trench through the earth as she drug the beam over the Big Tray Class ships and across the enemy line. Japanese and American troops stared on in horror as the beam of energy finally concluded.

The Overflag went 'Well fuck this shit' and charge the Apsalus II, one ramming into it and throwing it off balance, Fuuka attempted to defend but was pretty much a failed attempt given as the Mobile Armor stupidly had two modes 'Kill things directly below me' and 'Kill everything in a big fucking blast', because equipping it with other weapons would have just been silly.

Her co-pilot, sensing the danger, hit the eject button and saved the Princesses life despite her protests as Michael drove his Plasma sword into the reactor of the Apsalus and fell away as the Apsalus exploded. Shortly later, JOSH-A Capitulated to Japan, while Michael Haley fled with the remaining Overflags.

Out of it all arose Scarth, his Zaku I Missing a single arm but surrounded by destroyed Leo's which he had some how managed to convince to fight him one on one.
