"Anyone
got a handbasket?" Mason Cress asked as he and the rest of the Mobile
Suits in the Loki Exploration Group descended toward the fiery sphere
called Hell.John Craven resisted the urge to fry Mason's brain like he
had done the V2's pilot a few weeks before, "Don't say it, Cress. I sign
your paycheck." "So this means we aren't going to Hell in a
handbasket," Mason snicked. "I'ma kill him," Cyrus said as he raised the
4th's Beam Rifle. "No you won't," Deacon said, "Because we'd spend the
next four months waist deep in paperwork.""Damnit," Cyrus said. "We're
preparing to enter the...whatever it is Hell has. Its mainly sulfur,
carbon dioxide and trace amounts of oxygen. We're landing on the North
Pole because it won't turn us to slag.""And that ladies and gentlemen,
would suck," Gan said. "So how are we supposed to check the planet out."
"Little does he know, but we brought Mason as a recon bitch, but hes
also a sacrifice for any pagan diety we come across," Jin said."Of
course we did," Mason said, "Why else am I around here for?" "Cannon
fodder," Jun said. "Human shield," Cyrus muttered. "Martyr," Trent
smirked. "You're all dicks," Mason grumbled. "Cut the chatter. You
should be able to jump from outcropping to outcropping. Remember to
stay keep within fifteen Kilometers of eachother. The ships will be
doing the hard work, we're checking out the surface for its tension and
all that merry shit." Seventeen hours later, the Explorer's had what
they wanted. Hell: The Owners can make 6 Million a month. "I hate oceans," Cyrus Kane said as the 4th Gundam plunged into the massive ocean of Llyr. "Affraid of water?" Gan asked. "No, I don't like what lives in the water," Cyrus said. "What? Did you see Jaws too many times?" Trent teased. "Actually..." Cryus began before Ryoko cut him off, "Something big coming this way...Lots of big things. Coming in fast...fifty miles an hour." "Remember, beam rifles and sabers won't work in the water, stick to vulcans and shell firing weapons," Jiedash said. "But vulcans don't do shit," Gan said. "Against heavy armor, no, but against flesh and bone," John Craven said, "it hurts. Alot." A mile ahead of them, the explorers saw a vast array of lights ranging from a lighter shade of blue to a burning yellow. As the shapes grew closer, they resembled sharks. Except they were the size of Mobile Suits and the largest was easily twice the size of The O Custom."What the hell..." Alex said as he tightened his grips on the Zeph's controls. "Goddamn. Those are mean looking fish...I count twenty," Ryoko said. Suddenly, the large one shot ahead of the group and toward the Kampfer Devil Killer. As it opened its mouth, two long, hooked tentacles shot out and grabbed the Mobile Suit around the waist. The tentacles pulled the Kampfer closer and closer to the large, neon colored shark as its kin moved into attack the others. Trent smirked as the shark-alien bit down on the armor of the Kampfer, expecting it to shatter its teeth. However, that didn't happen. Warning klaxxons blared signaling a breach in the skin of the Kampfer."You overgrown goldfish!" Trent yelled as he fired the Kampfer's vulcans into the hide of the Shark. The shells tore through the hide of the shark and into its innards. Trent laughed as his guns clicked empty. The massive shark's head had been removed from the rest of its body. The tentacles' grip slackened and the head began to drift toward the unseen bottom of the Llyrian Ocean."Fucking guppies!" John Craven as he slammed the massive fist of The O Custom into the head of a shark. The fist sunk forearm deep into the creatures skull before it stopped thrashing. "Are we having sushi for dinner?" Gan asked as he launched the massive ball and chain like weapon called a Gundam Hammer into the mouth of another Shark. The shark bit down and severed the chain, then surged forward and opened its jaw wide enough to bite down to the waist of the Gundam. Gan fired the vulcans from inside and they tore out through the top of the beast's skull. "Does it worry anyone else about all the shark blood in the water?" Mason asked as he tore a Shark's lower jaw from the rest of the skull. "No. Should it?" Jin asked as he fired the 300mm Rifle through the mouth of one shark. The shell exited via the shark's tail. "Well, think about it. What if there are bigger animals on this planet?" Mason asked. "Shut up, Mason, you're gonna jinx us," Ryoko said as she force fed a shark a grenade. "Fucking a. Goddamnit Mason. Something bigger is coming...christ...its as big as a Pegasus," Alex said. "Well then...we've proven to these fish that humans are the new dominant species. I saw we retreat," Cyrus said as he fired three bazooka rounds into another shark. No one argued with him. Llyr: Owners can make 5 Million a month. "I've died and gone to hell!" Gan yelled as the Gundam walked with its air conditioner on full blast. "No. This isn't Hell. Hell isn't as humid. This is Florida in August," Cyrus sighed as he wiped sweat from his brow. "Dry heat I don't mind. Wet, sticky, miserable, swampy heat I despise!" Jin bitched. "Get over it, there are more planets and after we get off this Dagobah looking hell-hole, we get to go to Eden," Shinju said. "Wonderful," Jiedash muttered as the Aegis/Justice walked through a massive, spider's web. "Wow. Its a good thing you aren't affraid of spiders," Mason said. "Oh, and why is that?" Jiedash said as the Aegis walked clear of the web. "Because there are about ten spiders coming this way. Big spiders. They look like they can flip a fucking tank!" Mason yelled as he fired his vulcans into the swollen back of one spider. The back exploded in a storm of innards and dozens of smaller, translucent spiders. "Aw goddamnit!" Trent yelled as a spider jumped toward the Kampfer. Trent raised the Kampfer's shotgun and fired. Mobile Suit sized buckshot tore the spider apart. "This is my boomstick. S-Mart's top of the line..." Trent began before another spider attacked, "Fucking bugs." Meanwhile, on the southern continent, the Titan, The O Custom, Zephyranthes and the Gundam Mark II FA had encountered another life form. "I don't know whether its cute or ugly," John Craven said. "I didn't know you liked calamari," Deacon smirked. What the quartet was looking at was a large...herd of large, quadrapeds. They had four, thick, tree-trunk like legs, two thick tentacles that acted as hands and near the front shoulders and another, thinner pair mounted near the face. "Lets call them a Squidasaurus," Alex joked. "How about we call them...what the hell?" Deacon said. Suddenly on the other side of the clearing, a dozen small, gorilla sized creatures stormed out. They seemed to be a sort of squid like the massive creatures, but they carried primitive weapons. Sharpened sticks, large rocks and what appeared to be a stone axe. They walked on six, long, lithe tentacles that ended in sharp hooks. They had muscular tentacles coming down from their shoulders that ended at their waist. They covered the fifty meters between the edge of the clearing and the herd in a blur. Suddenly, one leapt up, folding its body and extending another, hidden pair of tentacles. These tentacles resembled the longer ones seen on modern Giant Squids. The tentacles extended and slapped against the side of one of the herd-squid. The herd squid was smaller than the rest and its colors werent as subdued as the ones in the herd, giving one reason to believe it was younger, but it was still fiver meters from foot to waist with another three being the actual body of the herd-squid. The young one screamed in pain and Ryoko magnified the image. She could see traces of dark red blood oozing from around the latched tentacles. The hunter-squid unrolled itself and slammed a spear into the stomach of the herd-squid. A larger squid, this one twice as far from the ground as the young one, charged forward, swinging its massive shoulder tentacles. With incredible percision, the large tentacle grabbed the hunter and flung it from the smaller herd-squid.Two bloody diamond shaped pieces of flesh were torn from the young one where the hunter's tentacles had latched on. Suddenly, the MS pilots heard a loud, blood curtling scream. They turned around in time to see a medium sized herd-squid fall under the constant stabbing and hacking from the other members of the hunter-squid pack. "My god. They're intelligent. They used a distraction," Deacon trailed off as they watched the spectacle. Cordelia: Owners can make 5 Million a month. |
