Larsen: The Washington Post said it reviewed more than 160-thousands emails and instant message conversations, and another 8,000 documents that were collected between 2009 and 2012. The paper says "ordinary internet users, American and non-American alike, far outnumber legally targeted foreigners in the communications intercepted by the national security agency." The paper reports that nearly half of the files contained details that the NSA identified as being from us citizens or residents. The report also found that some of the communications captured by the NSA did contain significant intelligence value, including "a secret overseas nuclear project, double-dealing by an ostensible ally, and the identities of aggressive intruders into U.S. computer networks."
