Marketplace

While individual locations in the game have their own shops detailing what they sell, the prices are standardized with very few items that shift price by location. This page is a catalogue of all the items the various shops of Ourissa sell, with their prices and descriptions. If an item is priced differently on a location page, the location pages price takes precedence, but this will be rare.

The first number after an item is its price, while the number in parenthesis is the items weight. Remember, a character can carry their STR score x2 number of items, but only their STR score +1 in weight.

Items might be listed in shops as purchasable at Exquisite or Master Craftsmanship, or Gourmet/Purebred in the case of food/animals respectively. These items have increased effectiveness, though the higher the craftsmanship, the less cost efficient they will be.

If a particular item or its higher grade version cannot be found at your location, you can make an action to Search for a specific item, though this may not be successful. Certain class skills can help with this.

Weapons

Daggers

Knife - 1 (0)
A small knife, this basic tool can be used for combat as well as for eating food.

Dagger - 2 (0)
Larger than a knife, a dagger is a small double blade created specifically for combat. Daggers can be thrown, but with poor accuracy.

Main Gauche - 4 (.5)
A dagger with an oversized hand guard, designed specifically for parrying in the offhand.

Throwing Dagger - 4 (0)
Slightly smaller and thinner than a dagger, throwing daggers have been balanced perfectly for their task.

Swords

Shortsword - 5 (.5)
A small, double bladed sword with a short handguard, these swords are mainly used by infantry to stab at an enemy.

Longsword - 7 (1)
A longer and more regal blade, the single bladed longsword is generally used as a slashing weapon.

Rapier - 7 (1)
Thin bladed rapiers contain large hand guards and are used by fencers, their blades quicker but less apt at blocking attacks.

Saber - 7 (1)
Sabers are longswords specifically made for mounted combat, larger and heavier at the end and slightly curved.

Bastard Sword - 10 (1.5)
Also known as a hand and a half sword, the Bastard Sword is larger than a Longsword and smaller than a Zweihander. It can be used with one or two hands, and works with either proficiency.

Zweihander - 12 (2)
The Zweihander is a long and thin two handed sword, double bladed and with a long reach.

Claymore - 12 (2)
Claymores are not any longer than a longsword, but are extremely thick bladed heavy weapons, packing much more of a punch. The weight of the Claymore requires two hands to use.

Maces

Cudgel - 3 (1)
A simple club, a cudgel may be no more than an accurately shaped tree branch.

Stave - 5 (.5)
A wizard's stave, this staff has either been imbued with a bit of ether, or comes from a particularly ancient and magical tree. This staff assists a Wizard in their spellcasting.

Mace - 5 (1)
A wooden stick with a metal mace head, this is a fairly small and simple weapon.

Heavy Club - 5 (2)
Similar to the cudgel, this is merely the two handed variety.

Flail - 6 (1.5)
A Flail is simply a length of chain with a handle, often with very heavy links on the end. This can be used with two hands for more power, and works with either proficiency.

Heavy Mace - 7 (2)
A larger Mace, this is intended to be used with two hands.

Morning Star - 9 (2)
A combination of mace and flail, Morning Stars consist of a long handle linked to a chain, with a heavy iron ball on the end. Only usable with two hands.

Warhammer - 12 (2)
A large and double handed sledgehammer designed for combat.

Spears

2x Javelin - 4 (.5)
Javelins are small thin spears, too fragile to be used in prolonged close combat but excellent for throwing.

Short Spear - 4 (.5)
A short spear is designed for versatility, with more range than a longsword but still easily usable in one hand. It is also light enough that it may be thrown, but not at the same range as a javelin.

Spear - 6 (1)
A longer and heavier spear, this weapon achieves the maximum range possible while still being one handed, and can be used with two hands for more maneuverability. Works with both proficiencies. Most are spiked on both ends to still be useful if one end breaks.

Lance - 10 (1.5)
A one handed spear designed for horseback, lances are especially thick and heavy, being heavy and hard to maneuver with but packing a harder punch. Lances are next to useless without a steed.

Halbard - 10 (1.5)
A heavy poleaxe, halbards are used like a spear but with a heavy axe blade as well, a very versatile weapon. The topheavy Halbard requires two hands to use.

Long Spear - 10 (1.5)
A double pointed spear the size of a Lance, these are smaller than Pikes, but achieve the maximum possible length while retaining some maneuverability in two hands.

Pike - 12 (2)
A huge double handed spear tipped at one end and counterweighted at the other, pikes are made for maximum reach, able to outrange a spear by a long margin, but only usable for thrusting attacks.

Axes

Throwing Axe - 4 (.5)
A simple, roundish axe balanced for throwing, this weapon is somewhat small and oddly shaped for close combat.

Tomahawk - 5 (.5)
Tomahawks are a versatile and well weighted weapon, able to be thrown with precision or used for close combat.

Cleaver - 5 (.5)
A large and heavy cooking knife, used when chopping. Not exactly a weapon of war, but usable like an axe all the same.

Axe - 7 (1)
The axe is a weapon designed for close combat, with a heavy blade.

Battleaxe - 10 (1.5)
A larger axe, this can be used with one or two hands, bearing a heavy blade with spikes on top and the backside. Works with either proficiency.

Greataxe - 12 (2)
The greataxe is a huge double handed affair, sporting an axe head on both sides.

Missile Weapons

Bow - 4 (.5)
A simple tool, bows like these can be found in many households.

Sling - 4 (0)
A simple weapon made out of thickened cloth, used for throwing stones long distances.

Staff sling - 6 (.5)
A combination of a sling and a wooden staff, can be used as a throwing weapon or a close combat weapon, but requires two hands to use as a missile weapon.

Compound Bow - 7 (.5)
While the same size and weight as a bow, compound bows have a better design, generally made for military use.

Shortbow - 8 (.5)
Made specifically to be the smallest possible bow that retains a good range and force, shortbows can be used while mounted or on the run.

Longbow - 8 (1)
Longbows are designed for maximum power, huge affairs with a great range. A longbow cannot be used if not supported on the ground.

Light Crossbow - 8 (.5)
Designed for ease of use, a crossbow is a one handed mechanical affair that fires a small bolt. While worse in range and power to a good compound bow and somewhat harder to load, once loaded the crossbow can be used at any time, and can be concealed and used one handed at short ranges.

Heavy Crossbow - 9 (1)
A heavier Crossbow, this version works in much the same way, but requires both hands to operate and load, and has power and range equivalent to or greater than a longbow. However, this reloads very slowly.

Guns & Bombs

Bomb x2 - 6 (.5)
A rudimentary explosive with a clumsy triggering mechanism, these can be used for demolition, but unless you are experienced in the use of grenades, it is advised not to use these in combat!

Dynamite - 8 (.5)
A heavier explosive than the throwable bombs, this cannot really be used for combat, but makes an excellent demolition tool.

Pistol - 10 (.5)
A simple smoothbore blackpowder pistol. While pistols and other handguns are easy to fire, they can be very difficult to load, and take training and experience to care for properly, and are both innacurate and dangerous to the weilder in untrained hands.

Double barreled pistol - 14 (.5)
A double barreled smoothbore blackpowder pistol.

Musket - 16 (1)
A simple smoothbore blackpowder musket.

Double barreled musket - 20 (1)
A double barreled smoothbore blackpowder musket.

Great Musket - 30 (2)
A humongous musket that must be fired from a fixed position.

Ammunition

Arrows - 1 (0)
Simple arrows, more can be carried if you have a quiver. Enough for a single battle if they are not retrieved.

Simple crossbow bolts, more can be carried if you have a quiver. Enough for a single battle if they are not retrieved.

Slingstones - 1 (0)
Simple rounded stones, more can be carried with an ammo pouch. Enough for a single battle if they are not retrieved.

Powder and shot - 2 (0)
Firearm weaponry, more can be carried with an ammo pouch.

Quiver - 2 (.5)
Used to hold arrows or bolts, any accomplished archer must carry one. A quiver can carry up to 3x Arrows or Bolts, or 4x Javelins.

Ammo pouch - 2 (.5)
Used to carry slingstones or gunshot. An Ammo pouch can carry up to 3x Slingstones or Balls and Shot.

Special Weapons

Bolas - 4 (.5)
Used by Huntsman, Bolas are an excellent choice for disabling an enemy.

Grappling Hook - 5 (.5)
Used by sailors, the grappling hook is a useful tool, as well as a rather unique weapon.

Whip - 6 (.5)
Used by Beast Tamers, whips can be a very effective weapon in the correct hands.

Lockpicks - 6 (0)
Used by Rogues, these complex tools are useful for getting into locked areas.

Traps - 6 (.5)
Required by Wanderers for their trade, this is a set of trapping materials.

Armor

Body Armor

Wayfarers Clothes - 5 (0)
Thickened travellers clothes made for protection against the weather, these provide a small degree of protection against attack as well.

Robes - 5 (0)
Thin garments designed for ease of movement, these make it easier for a spellcaster to use his magic, but offer no protection.

Warpaint - 5 (0)
Body paint of various colors blessed by a tribal Shaman. This paint seems to curiously ward away attacks, though it is only about as effective as Wayfarers Clothes. Also provides limited magic resistance.

Padded armor - 6 (.5)
The lightest sort of protection, this armor is made by quilting thickened pads of cloth together. It provides more protection than ordinary Clothing, but is slightly heavier and more cumbersome.

Hide Armor - 6 (1)
Made from thickened animal hides sewn together, Hide armor provides more protection than that of quilted cloth, but not as much as hardened leather, while having similar weight to the latter.

Leather Armor - 7 (1)
Leather plates boiled and hardened, leather armor provides adequete protection while remaining lightweight.

Brigandine - 10 (1)
Leather armor made tougher with metal studs attached to it, brigandine is more expensive than plain leather but provides better protection with similar weight.

Scale Mail - 15 (1.5)
Scale mail is the simplest of metal armors, being a jerkin of thin metal squares or scales. The protection is adequete, but the size of the scales can restrict movement.

Chainmail - 18 (1.5)
Solving the problem of scale mail by using interlocking rings instead of flat scales, chainmail provides as much protection with more mobility.

Half Plate - 20 (3)
A heavy breastplate of metal and supporting armguards, half plate gives excellent protection to the most vulnerable areas of the body, saving weight and mobility by not providing full body protection.

Full Plate - 30 (4)
Full plate shoulders, breastplate, legs, arms and gloves, full plate provides permanent, full body protection while providing quite a drain on weight and mobility. People with a penchant for total protection will wear full plate as well as chainmail.

Shields

Buckler - 4 (.5)
A short round, wooden shield. Not very useful against missile weapons but excellent for blocking without reducing mobility.

Hide Shield - 4 (.5)
A large shield with a wooden frame and a hide backing. Useful for stopping arrows, but a heavy blade will cut straight through it.

Wooden Shield - 6 (.5)
Similar to hide shields, wooden shields have a complete wooden frame, possibly with a hide backing over the top. Better wooden shields will have a metal frame. These provide reasonable protection against missiles and melee attacks.

Metal shield - 9 (0.5)
Heavy and expensive, a metal or heater shield is made of pure metal, usually unsightly but providing excellent protection. More expensive varieties may include a lot of ornamentation.

Tower Shield - 12 (1)
Much larger than most, Varanian Tower Shields are exquisite affairs, made of metal and able to defend the entire body.

Barding

Padded Barding - 8 (1)
A form of padded armor, design to protect the body and head of a horse.

Hide Barding - 10 (1.5)
Made of thickened animal hides, this form of horse armor is just as heavy as hardened leather, but does not offer quite as much protection.

Leather Barding - 13 (1.5)
Barding for a horse made of boiled and hardened leather, heavier than padded barding but providing better protection.

Plate Barding - 24 (3)
Barding made of hard metal plates designed to provide good protection for a horse, at the cost of weight and maneuverability.

Equipment and Non Combat Items

Basic Items

Torch - 3 (.5)
A simple torch and a vial of oil for lighting it, useful in any dark place. Burns out after one days use.

Firewood - 3 (.5)
Pre-packaged tinder, usable for a nights campfire if no wood is on hand.

Rope - 4 (.5)
A length of rope. Soap not included.

Flint - 4 (0)
A device needed to start fires.

Grains - 4 (.5)
Wound tightly with simple string, these grains will provide a parties beasts with a days nourishment, should the land be impossible to graze upon.

Dry Rations - 5 (.5)
Dried fruits and nuts to keep the party nourished on a long journey. Provides the party with a days nourishment.

Sealed Water - 5 (.5)
Water sealed in a waxed leather gourd, it will stay fresh for weeks. Provides the party with a days nourishment.

Pots and Pans - 5 (.5)
Simple tools used for cooking and lighting fires, this will provide some comfort to the party on a journey.

Fishing tools - 5 (.5)
Simple tools used for fishing, these can keep you alive if a source of water is nearby.

Pick - 5 (.5)
A pick. Could come in handy to many an adventurer.

Shovel - 5 (.5)
A shovel. Could come in handy to many an adventurer.

Travellers Pack - 6 (.5)
A large backpack suitable for going on an adventure. Increases the maximum number of items a character can carry by 4.

Sleeping Bag - 6 (.5)
A simple adventurers sleeping bag, this will provide one member of a party with a comfortable place to sleep at night, but does little to protect against the weather.

Alcohol - 6 (.5)
Not intended for nourishment, a flask full of grain alcohol can do much to cure depression in the ranks.

Compass - 6 (0)
Usable deep within the Earth, a Compass helps ensure that you will not get lost in dark places.

Ether Lantern - 15 (.5)
A special lantern that constantly glows in the dark when released from a magical covering. This lantern will remain useful as long as there is ether in the region.

Tent Equipment - 20 (1.5)
Equipment for a sturdy, weatherproof tent, this provides much more protection from the elements than a standard travelers sleeping bag. Provides the entire party with a place to avoid the weather at night.

Crafting Tools

Chemists Tools - 20 (1)
Strange baubles, mixers and grinders for use in the alchemists trade.

Smithing Tools - 20 (1)
Hammers, tongs and bellows, the various things a smith needs.

Cooking Tools - 20 (1)
Bowls and skillets, everything an accomplished cook needs to make a quality meal. For those not of the Cook class, these more advanced tools are unimportant.

Engineering Tools - 20 (1)
Sprockets and gadgets galore, everything an Engineer needs for his trade.

Rune Dagger - 20 (.5)
A special dagger that is made to transfix ether into what it carves, used for enchanting.

Musicians Tools - 20 (1)
A musical instrument and its maintenance implements, needed by Minstrels for their trade.

Potions

Healing Poultice - 5 (0)
This poultice heals five hit points, but can only be used while making a Rest action. Better versions double or triple the effects.

Healing Potion - 10 (0)
When imbibed, this potion heals five hit points. Better versions double or triple the effects.

Antidote - 10 (0)
This potion cures simple poisons. Better versions cure more complex poisons.

Strength Potion - 10 (0)
This elixir endows the user with 1 Str for a day. Better versions double or triple the effects.

Ether Potion - 10 (0)
This potion endows the user with 1 Int for a day. Better versions double or triple the effects.

Agility Potion - 10 (0)
This potion endows the user with 1 Agi for a day. Better versions double or triple the effects.

Constitution Potion - 10 (0)
This potion endows the user with 1 Sta for a day. Better versions double or triple the effects.

Charisma Potion - 10 (0)
This potion endows the user with 1 Cha for a day. Better versions double or triple the effects.

Luck Potion - 25 (0)
This potion endows the user with 1 Luk for a day. Better versions double or triple the effects.

Animals

Every character can have one animal in their inventory, which can be a guardian, a steed, or a pack animal. The Beast Tamer class with certain skills can have additional animals, although these will often be of a more exotic nature.

If a character is riding a horse, the horse can be barded but cannot carry any other items.

Hound - 10
A dog of mixed breed, loyal and ready to fight for you. It can carry 1 item up to .5 weight.

Warhound - 15
While just as large and strong and the mutt, these hounds are specially trained for warfare. It can carry 1 item up to .5 weight.

Pack Donkey - 20 Only ridable by children, pack donkeys are used for transporting goods on long journeys. It can carry 6 items up to 3 weight.

Horse - 30
A decently well bred horse for riding. If used as a pack animal can carry 6 items up to 3 weight. If the entire party is riding Horses, the party moves at Horse speed.

Warhorse - 40
A horse bred and trained for combat, it is just as good a pack animal as a horse but better a steed. It can carry 6 items up to 3 weight. If the entire party is riding Horses, the party moves at Horse speed.

Mule and Cart - 50
A sturdy mule carrying a small cart. This cart can carry 20 items up to 9 weight. Alternatively, the cart can carry a single character who is too injured or ill to travel.

Caravan - 100
This large Caravan can carry 50 items up to 20 weight. One Caravan makes the entire party move at Caravan speed, regardless of how many are on horses. Caravans do not take up a characters animal slot.

Boats

Smaller boats might be used by a small party of adventurers, but larger boats become such an ordeal to crew and maintain that they will become the focus of the party, and should not be looked into unless one wants to become a fulltime pirate or privateer.

Lumber used to repair a ships hull. With one action can be used to repair a ships hull by 1 point. One point of hull and one point of sails can be repaired per day.

Services

Travel
Some shops will have caravan or boat travel listed with prices. These prices will differ by area, and the travel will consist of travel on a guarded caravan or merchant cog.

Bank Deposit - 1
Most Cities and large towns will have banks, that can guard your money for a small deposit fee, to be withdrawn at any other bank.

Bank Withdrawl - 2
A nominal fee is in place when one withdraws their money from a bank. Of course the bank charges more to withdraw your money than it did to deposit it!

Hospital stay - 10
While staying with a healer and making a Rest action, a characters HP regen will be 3x their Stamina+1 rather than 2x. Remember, the equation is 3x(STA+1)

Scrying - 10
A fortune teller or soothsayer can be paid to answer a single question about your journey, though the answer may be insightful or altogether dubious.

Blessing - 10
A Priest can be payed to bless you as you go upon your journey. This will result in a +1 LUK score to the character for the next few days.

Identify Magic - 10
A Wizard can be paid to identify a magic item for those parties that do not have their own conjuror.

War Ritual - 10
A Tribal Witch Doctor can imbue your war paint with energy, causing it to protect you better than normal for the next few days.

Endow - 10
A Wizard can endow your weaponry with magical properties, lasting for a few days.

Special

Special items are only available in rare areas, and their prices may change dramatically in different cities.

Waterberries - 30 (0)
This special potion looks like sticky black berries, and is infused with a powerful magic. While sickly to the taste, it will let a person survive underwater without breathing for about an hour, shortly after imbibing it.

Lissiyan Steed - 50
A warhorse of exceptional breeding, Lissiyan Steeds are smarter, faster and stronger than horses of the other Tribes.

Kerali Iron Ingots - 10 (1)
A hoard of high quality iron mined from deep in mount Keral. These ingots can be taken to a blacksmith to make up to 1 weight in items of Kerali Steel, forging a higher quality weapon than standard manufacture.

Monster Bones - 10 (1)
The Mitiyans understand the magical properties of the desert, and often make their weapons from monster bones. These bones can be taken to a blacksmith to make up to 1 weight in monster bone items. Monster bone items harm magical targets as if they were enchanted.

Trollhide - 10 (1)
Hides of mountain trolls, commonly used amongst the Arakani to make armor. These hides can be taken to an armorsmith to make up to 1 weight in trollhide armor. Trollhide armor provides a magical resistance similar to warpaint.

Mitiyan Greatspider - 20
These large black spiders are the size of a dog, and just as strong and well bred. However, they are more intelligent, and quicker to heel and attack on command, and quite poisonous. The Mitiyans keep them as pets and guard animals. Mitiyan Greatspiders cannot carry items, refusing to do so.

Gemstones - 30 (0)
Though not magical or even particularly useful in nature, gemstones are often prized by collectors, and are seen as a good measure of wealth to be traded or bartered.

Piraean Port Wine - 15 (0)
Especially strong and with a thick taste, these wines are more highly prized than even the alcohols of Gujar.

Magikal Tome - 30
While mages do not need books of magic to cast their spells, many catalogue the ways they formate ether in a variety of methods. Old tomes that teach simple spells can be acquired by a wealthy mage, increasing their repertoire.
