Technical and Historical Notes
The original Apsalas was a bit of a hodgepodge of mobile suit, mobile armor and ship technology, and made entirely from spare parts. Made to test the Minovsky Craft system in a high speed mobile armor, the Apsalas boasted excellent speed and maneuverability on Earth, as well as the ability to enter and break orbit on its own. It is also capable of operating in space, although it is almost totally ineffective in this environment, requiring an air cushion to maneuver.

The Apsalas was only made as a test project, and its weaponry consisted soley of a pair of Zaku II D head vulcans. Its pilot, Mohammad Shahryar, took it to several combat engagements, but was only able to deliver a handful of aircraft kills with the behemoth. When the armor was taken back to Lhasa for an upgrade, Shahryar refused to pilot it again.

Constructed off the test bed Apsalus, the Apsalus II still incorporated basic Zaku parts and many of the same features as its predecessor. Ghinias Sahalin perfected Minovsky craft system this time around, making the Apsalus much more stable in atmospheric flight. It also incorporated an extremely powerful mega particle cannon, capable of blasting through thick layers of rock, reinforced metal, and even a mountainside. The Apsalus II is considered the foremost contender in real estate destruction.

Since the Apsalus's first test pilot, Mohammad Shahryar, was shot refusing to pilot it, Ginius chose one of his chief test pilots to fill the position. Lucas Marcolini, a man of mystery by most accounts, currently pilots the behemoth. Lucas has since become one of the Federations highest priority targets, responsible for the absolute destruction of Torrington, as well as for severely damaging Gibraltar. The Apsalas was grounded at the battle of Odessa, but Marcolini piloted a Zaku II at the battle, scoring several kills.

Weapons and Features
Cockpit - The Apsalus II's cockpit is designed to seat two, a pilot and a gunner, though one individual is more than enough to fill both roles. The seats are positioned one directly behind the other in classic aviation fashion.
