![]() Born in a small mountain village, Enki lived the normal life of a farm hand. Strong for his size, Enki would often wander into the nearby mountains following a strange draw into them. He was generally accepted by the inhabitants of the mountain, stout golem like creatures who often would compete with him in feats of strength. Eventually he found his way deep into the feeding ground of those he had befriended, finding the remains of a great lizard submerged in cold lava. Enki was surprised to find a being whose skin and body had not been melted and had, in fact cooled the lava around it. In fact it seemed, the grand creature, had permeated the spirit of the earth within itself as its soul left it in its death throes. This is the being that had drawn him into the mountains. Immediately, Enki began work removing the skin of the creature, he worked tirelessly removing the tough skin over many years. The creatures would often pass by him and comment on his work removing the skin of the gargantuan, he learned that the creatures typically explode after death and that this one it had been killed by feeding it bomb flowers. Enki redoubled his efforts feeling desire for not only the strong skin of the creature but for the energy of the earth that permeated it. As he worked, the energy of the land nourished him, it fed his body as the muscles grew from their labors. Eventually he would free the skin and with the help of his friends, fashion it into a set of mighty armor. Any explosion or heat that came for it would fail to penetrate, the labor he had poured, the earth’s blessing that had been given, and the might strength of the creature where all high costs distilled in the plates of the armor. The armor was no heavier than leather to those around him but, to him it felt as if it was naught but a second skin, the earth that impregnated the armor also permeated his body. The years he had spent unearth and fashioning the armor had made him strong and as he walked to the edge of the cave he had spent seven years in, a light spread across the land, a great evil had been defeated and its actions were being undone along with all other of the years. The earth would not let his efforts be reversed like others, he would not be returned to time with only the memories of his hard labor, it refused. Instead it cast him adrift in the world between worlds where he eventually found soil once more, in the world known as Thracs. Apparent age: mid 20's Height: 6'2" Personality: Growing up working at a nearby farm Enki has no trouble with long arduous labor, and finds a sense of satisfaction in it. He is wary of predators and prey alike and knows how to read their intentions from experience, experience that has taught him the difference between the need of force and the need for a quick snarl as a warning. He is, naive about sexual matters, finding more annoyance in obvious sexual advances that enjoyment. He spent the years of life most would have learned about such things secluded in a cave so learned sexual attraction and courtship is lost on him. He understands the land he sets his feet upon, ans speaks to it regularly as a companion. He is aware that others do not share his connection and expects the odd looks he is given, taking slight amusement in their arrogant thoughts that he is the ignorant one. He is friendly, offering food to travelers in need with a simple grin, and walking on without waiting to see what they would do with it. In contrast he must be given greater reason other than another's desire to give things of greater value. He has a strong distaste for any form of undead, for they are thieves from the earth not repaying their loans. He does not fight without reason but he does enjoy recreational fights. He is a simple man with simple needs, he can sustain himself wherever he goes so he wanders only looking for a roof over his head to replicate the time spent within the earth, as such he prefers dark buildings lit by the glow of a fire. |

| “The problem with cyborg food is that it looks so unappetizing” The Order citizen said to his friend as he purchased a small milky white bar with spherical pustules covering its surface. “It's not bad, wanna try some?” he responded offering some to his fellow. “Uggh no thanks.” He responded turning his head away in disgust. The other street vendors smiled offering their wares of food and various mechanical parts to those mostly uninterested like Saigo. As part of the diplomatic relations between his temporary home with the Brotherhood and the forces of Order he had decided to tour the citizenry to see a better perspective of how they lived. The grimy atmosphere of the marketplace choked Saigo with its rich greasy smell, it wasn’t the most advanced areas of order but, these people still had luxuries that Brotherhood citizens lacked, running water, electricity and other wonders. Still to Saigo it seemed, they lacked a sense of place, they had not committed niche in society they each simply made their way through life however they saw fit. “Disgraceful.” He muttered as he looked over the shoulder of a patron sorting through piles of scrap metal and old computing parts. Saigo jumped at the sound of a loud siren that echoed through the streets. “Attention citizens of Order dimensional quake detected, take cover immediately. Attention citizens…” It droned on as merchants struggled to gather their prized wares before they would be lost in the chaos. Saigo and the two bodyguards that accompanied him crouched on the ground as the ground started to shake, Earthquakes were not new to a Japanese citizen and Saigo was unfazed by the event until he saw the true scale as a giant land mass appeared into view, it was if a mountain itself had shaken loose and thrown itself into the continent. The impact threw Saigo and his men nearly ten meters tumbling on the ground as all sorts of wreckage rolled by. Afterward the shaking seemed to stop and Saigo, a short distance from his comrades, picked himself up off the ground and surveyed the damage, the hastily created stalls had been toppled and thrown. As Saigo helped to lift one of the structures from over top of his comrade he wondered how Order would handle the catastrophe, this was a good opportunity to see what they were capable of. “Citizens of Order, evacuate to the third level shelter or Order Headquarters, please remain there until situation can be surveyed, please leave all belongings behind and hurry to the shelters.” The voice played over the speakers once more as Saigo saw several Hecatonchires fly out from the large tower visible in the center of the city. “Pichuu, Pika cha!” a small yellow rat bounced up to Saigo, a cross shaped scar covering his eye changing the otherwise unremarkable rodent into an angry looking creature. “Pichuu Pika cha.” It said, sparks emanating from its cheeks in frustration. Saigo pulled out his Nanbu on the creature which only served to anger it as it braced for combat with the foreigner. “Brotherhood representative, Saigo.” A small high pitched voice called out from on top a pile of wreckage. “You are requested to head to the nearest shelter, Operative Thor will guide you.” Saigo looked up in confusion at the source of the voice only to see a small brown monkey waving his arms in what looked like a dance. “I am portable terminal Data for regulatory matters within Order.” He said hopping down from his perch. “This is Thor; it seems you do not have nanomachines, so he is having trouble communicating with you I will act as translator.” Saigo gave an incredulous look to the mechanical primate before sheathing his pistol. “Very well, should you require assistance I can dispatch a messenger for the Brotherhood to help with the rescue.” “That will not be necessary at this time; it does seem that the dimensional shift was of a much larger scale than usual, early reports indicate that a large island has shifted into a landlocked position with order.” “Pika picha.” Thor mumbled. “Thor remarks that this would happen on his day off.” Data remarked. “We have the situation well in hand…” As Data was speaking a large tiger pounced on Saigo pinning him to the ground. Saigo was quick to draw his dirk and insert it between the creature’s jaws, stopping them from delivering a lethal blow to his neck but could do little else but avoid swats from the creature. Suddenly Thor jumped onto the creature’s head and in a strange feat, flipped it off Saigo and flung it some distance before it landed heavily on the ground shortly before one of the knights’s accompanying Saigo severed the beast’s head with a single blow from his long sword. “This is well in hand?” Saigo angrily remarked to the monkey as his body guard helped him rise to his feet, this was the second time he had been thrown to the ground in his visit. “Juvenile Baron Tiger, native to continent of Faust, first known presence on this continent. Syncing with main terminal….shift shows that a large portion of Faust has shifted and native creatures are attacking Order citizens. Recommend proceeding to nearest shelter with all possible speed.” “Chu” Thor said spitting on the ground. “Thor has used a colorful metaphor to describe my last assessment.” Data said turning to Saigo. “Please arm yourself and follow me.” Data remarked as the nearby knight handed Saigo his Arisaka. All around the group large creatures pounced and attacked other people who had either delayed or were too slow in making it to the shelters, the more fortunate among them were heavily cyberized and could better defend themselves, and some had armed themselves with powerful rifles. It was clear however that the tide of battle was in Order’s favor; even the weakest of those exposed huddled together picking off the unorganized creatures as they pounced on random prey. As they neared the shelter a Thunderous reptilian roar deafened Saigo’s ears, the large tyrannosaur stalked out from behind a building and eyed the group hungrily. Quickly, Saigo took to one knee and fired a shot from his rifle. The shot embedded itself into the thick skin of the creature but failed to go deep enough to wound it as the creature’s jaws rushed towards the group, Thor once more jumped between them, his electricity enough to deter the creature for a few moments while it tried to grasp what was going on. The two knights flung themselves at the creature’s legs cutting chunks of meat from its flesh, the enraged lizard simply kicked them from their feet, landing hard on the dirt. Drunk with rage, the creature once more reached out towards Saigo who had switched out his newly acquired sub-machine gun in an attempt to bring down the beast, however, he was interrupted by a hail of energy machine gun fire from a squadron of Hecatonchires that had been ordered to assist the group. The cyborgs spayed the creature as it futily snapped at them with its massive jaws. Saigo’s knights had recovered and resumed doing what they could to the creature’s legs, with one final slash to the back of its ankle; the tyrannosaur fell heavily to earth. Still alive but drained of its strength it breathed angrily at Saigo as he approached with his Dirk, intending to cut the creature’s throat. As he neared it however, he was tackled, by the Pikachu and pushed out of the way of a rain of golden arrows. “I am Artemis goddess of the hunt; Stop this slaughter and leave the creature be!” Artemis said from a nearby rooftop; an arrow ready to fire upon the Japanese officer. “In concordance with Order law, article 3 section a-4, any creature or being that is deemed a threat to Order or its interest’s forfeits right to life and fair trial.” Data said speaking up to the young woman. “Your law means nothing to a god. “ Artemis said firing the arrow at the monkey who quickly dodged out of the way. “Acknowledged, all Faustian beings are hereby classified as enemy combatants, Order personnel are to engage with appropriate force to ensure the integrity of its borders and safety of its citizens.” Data said as Thor stepped forward. “Fire at will.” At the order from Data, Thor rushed toward Artemis, with impressive speed. Saigo sprayed her position with machine gun fire as the lithe woman ran across the wrecked buildings with the weight of a leaf firing as she went. As she circled around, keeping distance from the small yellow rodent, whom a life in Faust had taught her was likely, more dangerous than its size belied, until a flight equipped Cyborg stood in her way Rifle poised to fire. Quickly the huntress jumped over the stream of machine gun fire and with a slight hop from the gun itself flipped over the being, leaving her short sword buried in its shoulder. Saigo reloaded the gun and continued to fire at Artemis as Thor doggedly pursued her, firing from her bow when the situation allowed. Dodging bullets, flying cyborgs and even at times, the creatures she was trying to defend was no easy task and soon Thor had caught up to her and quickly bit into her ankle and held on tightly. The added weight and the injury cause both her and the Pikachu to tumble from the building into a pile of rubble. The injured pair both rose almost instantly and stared each other down, electricity sparking from the rodent’s cheeks staring down the notched arrow of Artemis’ bow. Saigo and his knights were quickly around the corner with weapons brandished at her in focused appreciation of her skill; on the other side, shortly landed a trio of Hecatonchires. He injured leg throbbed, reminding her of the wound that robbed her of her speed, she was forced to surrender. “You’ll pay for this injustice.” Artemis swore. “This disrespect will not go unpunished.” Saigo shouldered his weapon and nodded to the captive in silent acknowledgment to her wounded pride. “Prisoner secured, move to secure location.” Data said, dancing, before turning to Saigo. “Save game?” “What?” Saigo said confused. “Eee eeee!” |
