Toriko HUNTS Baron Tiger
Toriko Smiled as he cornered his prize. The large beast looked delicious, and angry.

The beast lunged for Toriko’s throat sailing past him claws forward, Toriko had not enough calories to weather the attack and dodged the beast catching hold of it’s tail. Quickly the beast turned, teeth filling Toriko’s field of vision. Teeth clenched his skull as the tiger attempted to end this fight but, the flesh it had gotten hold was torn from Toriko’s face as he threw the creature. The tiger landed on its side with a thud and Toriko held his blood covered face.

As the tiger rose to it’s feet, Toriko glared at the beast showing his intentions, the Tiger once again leaped at his opponent, only to be snared by the first of Troiko's deadly techniques, the fork. The tiger barely had time to lament its fate before the knife came down, breaking the beasts spine.

The Doctor AMBUSHES Tael Avaria
In a park outside Central Command, the Order's self-proclaimed capital city of all Thracs, a slender man with a red bowtie sat on a park bench, spinning a small cylindrical object between his fingers. A short distance from the bench sat a table with two chair, a chess board setup on top and ready for a match. The man's eyes occasionally drifted from his fingers up to the table, each time warranting the same disappointed sigh.

Tael Avaria, a newcomer to Thracs struggling to manage all the political power the Order had handed him so suddenly, with no valid reason whatsoever, wandered from one of Central Command's numerous skyscrapers, his head buried in a book. All this work was beginning to take its toll on Tael, already he was beginning to forget all of his appointments. Tael would soon learn what numerous species across space and time had learned long ago, it is not wise to anger The Doctor.

The Doctor spotted Tael walking away from the park. The Doctor tilted his head, examined the area, and quickly gulped down the remainder of his tea. Shoving both hands in his pockets, The Doctor quickly scurried after Tael, avoiding the gaze of the numerous guards that monitored Tael's every step.

"Um... pardon me. I think you dropped something." The Doctor mumbled from behind Tael, tossing a chess pawn infront of Tael's feet. Tael stopped and looked down, spotting the item. The Doctor stretched his leg back, then kicked forward, striking Tael full force in the testicles. Tael froze in place. The world faded from view as his body slowly tipped forward and hit the ground, the impact triggering his armor to unfold.

"Checkmate." The Doctor giggled.

Outcome: The Doctor wins
The Doctor: 5EXP, Healthy
Tael Avaria: 5EXP, Crippled

BATTLES 05/30/2011
So, Zepp, what happened mate?

I posted battle results so the update can happen. If the 2 battles aren't written by tonight, I'll do them.

New Rpg Concepts
REPAIR v TRAVEL
Current: Travel heals 1 tier of damage and moves PC to new location. Repair heals all tiers of damage.
Future: Travel heals all tiers of damage and moves PC to new location. Repair heals all tiers of damage (for those not wanting to move).

AMBUSH/RECON v TRAVEL/REPAIR
Current: Ambush nets 5EXP and interrupts target's action, but requires the target to be in the same location as the ambusher.
Future: Ambush nets 5EXP and interrupts target's action. Ambusher not required to be in same location as target, as Ambush will move the ambusher's location to the same as the Target's, but without the healing benefit of a standard Travel action.

HUNTING
Current: Hunting provides 5EXP and Equipment (generated by Scarth, based off beast slain).
Future: Ambush nets 5EXP and Shards. Shards can be used to purchase NPC henchmen.

HENCHMEN
Current: None, though technically can be created via Training/Crafting.
Future: Cannot be made via Training/Crafting. COs will be able to create up to 5 Henchmen models per faction. Shards obtained from Hunting or NPC Missions can be exchanged for Henchmen. Henchmen Attributes cannot increase like PCs, Henchmen Status reflects their PC's, and Henchmen are unlikely to die except during Invasions, Raids, or high-risk Hunting/NPC-missions due to their high cost.

NPC MISSIONS
Current: None.
Future: NPC missions will be unique from Hunting. Missions will have unique requirements, as well as rewards (most commonly Shards, though some may yield Equipment, Techniques, or Henchmen).

HUNTING & NPC-MISSION SUCCESS RATE
Current: No model. In general successful unless filled with total stupidity.
Future: Missions and Beasts will be listed with difficulty tiers. The higher the tier, the more difficult the Mission/Beast or more help needed to complete it.

My disdain
scarththegrim apologizes

BATTLES 05/30/2011
2 Battles. 1st = Hunt. 2nd = duel (pending 2nd party's email)

1) Hunt
Toriko
vs
Baron Tiger
Quote:

Species: Big Cat
Location: Faust Continent

Description:
The Baron Tiger has bright pink colored eyes and two large fangs.
It's skin color is in orange and yellow color.
It has a lean body, with a large structure and a long tail, and can grow up to 3 meters tall and 4 meters long.
They can be found in groups up to 6 or 7, usually only when offspring are around, but it is not uncommon to find one out by itself hunting.
It has animal-like intelligence since it is only a beast.

Toriko 'invented' this species, which is technically fo-pa, but I'll allow it. No details from Toriko on battle strategy. BW's decision how this goes down.

- - - - -

2) Ambush
The Doctor
vs
Tael Avaria

No details. The Doctor is ambushing Tael.

My apologies
I blame the rap music.

Error Thread
Ah. Have to love when WEBS doesn't publish the last update.

FIXED

CO,Staff, battlewriters: Where to apply?
Hmm. This sounds like a job for the chatroom!

ALSO: Since we now have more than 1 Faust member, any of you people want the CO job? I previously forced Caleb to be it, but if he doesn't still want it, any of you could be it.

Storyline Vs Natural-flow
Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of introducing external, NPC antagonists to a RPG. I really prefer the players to instigate all the drama, and with this RPG having 5 factions that should be easy enough to produce (a certain player already mused rebelling against his/her/its CO).

If you all disagree, and want a common OP enemy, some NPC generated sidequests, or any other ideas, post and share your brilliance. No idea is too dumb to share, though some may be too intelligent to comprehend.

Forum/chat link
Missed this thread.

WEBS doesn't seem to let me add a link to the sidebar, so I've placed it on the main page and rules page. Hopefully that covers it for all.

Grannnn Kaiisseerrrr
Characters are 5meters, not 15 meters.

And, as stated many times, equipment WILL be balanced. First, remember the Attribute of "Wisdom", as it defines the general effectiveness of techniques/equipment. Second, Radune built the Gran Kaiser in 1 day, the same timeframe it took to build a Nambu Pistol or Extended Spear.

In other words, until Radune invests some time into actually 'arming' his giant robot (as, per his description, this is just the robot itself), or cranking up his Attributes, expect the Gran Kaiser to wet its pants at the mention of "It's a Gundam!".

Techniques/Equipment have really no limitation, to be honest. Just the more 'overpowered' you make them, the more they'll be nerfed to remain in-balance with the rest of the game.

Albeit, I'd appreciate noone try and craft a "Galactus-sized Henchmen". That'll make Anastasia, Kusu, and my job all the more difficult to try and make sense. Keep your giant robots and henchmen within some sort of sensible limitations (>^_^)>.

BATTLES 05/25/2011
Late battle. Blame me for being nice to Zepp and Strikey.

A)
HIKARU STRIKER & SAIGO
Vs
2x Tragnix, or Conquering Sower
Quote:

This creature is roughly the same size as a human.
They live in the forest.
A typical group, or hive, consists of 1-6 creatures.
The Tragnix looks like an emaciated deer with 3 horns.
They're a type of Folk, an intelligent, non-human species which reproduces naturally. The first members of any Folk might have been created either by magical means or have evolved naturally.
They have human-like intelligence.

Abilities
--Dive : The creature dives on to its enemies. This can cause extra damage to anyone who fails to get out of the way.
--Spread Disease: The creature's touch can cause disease.
--Paralysis: The creature's attack involves a particular kind of poison which may cause paralysis, until the poison is removed or a natural or magical antidote can be applied.

HIKARU STRIKER
Quote:

I will be hunting the native creatures of those in the isle of the Brotherhood . I will be using my lightsaber.

SAIGO
Quote:

Give the pistol a test drive in the Brotherhood jungle. Cap some local fauna. Preferably something tasty. I don't know, a deer.

BattleWriter Notes:
1)This was intended to be 2 seperate actions, but since both were late and in the same location, they've been joined.
2)Make Zepp start the hunt, since he actually indicated what he was looking for. Your call on whether Strikey joins before or after the action starts.
3)Tragnix are like Deer. More likely to run and hide than fight, which is further demonstrated by their only method of defense being to stun or paralyze their foe long enough to flee.
4)Tragnix cannot speak, despite their high intelligence.

BATTLES 05/25/2011
1 Battle today. A Hunt.

NAHUATL NEGENDRA, SUTEKH, EKNARA
VS
Rhabeopax, or Hag's Ruin
Quote:

This creature is large (at least thrice the size of a human).
They live in the jungle.
They will typically be found alone, or in a group (or congregation) of two or three.
The Rhabeopax looks like an iguana.
They have only animal-like intelligence.
They're a type of Monster, an unintelligent creature. The first members of any Monster species were created by magic ('magic' might include the vanished technology of the Ancients), but they now reproduce naturally.

Abilities
--Stealthy: The creature is extra-good at moving silently and staying hidden.
--Greater True Sight: The creature is totally immune to magical attacks based on illusions or fear.
--Stamina: The creature tires far less quickly than a normal creature would.

Main Strategy
Quote:

The plan is to have all three combine their strengths to use some sort of tracking spells to lure and trap the dragon.
Once the dragon is trapped, Sutekh will work to keep the dragon under some type of control by using magic. Nahuatl and Eknara will then start to attack it.
Nahuatl and Eknara will first tear of the wings to prevent the dragon from flying away. Next we'll go for the kill by aiming at the head and throat.
Once dragon is (hopefully) dead, we gather materials and call it a nice day :)

Eknara's notes:
Quote:

Eknara will be making great use of her new butterfly sword. She will help the group in initially cornering and trapping the dragon by using air and water (ice) spells.
Once dragon is trapped and Sutekh is keeping it under control, Eknara will attack with her butterfly sword by using magic (to help overcome hardness of dragon's scale/skin) to harm and kill the dragon.
She will make sure to keep away from the dragon's fire-breathing mouth and the dragon's claws as much as possible.
A good way for her to help in getting the wings off would be to jump on the dragon's back and attack from there (dragon won't be able to reach Eknara on it's back, hopefully).
Eknara plans to use the dead dragon's scale/skin in order to make her armour.

Nahuatl's notes:
Quote:

Aiming to obtain the heart from the dragon upon success to assist in crafting a magically-infused piece of equipment.

-Additional Strategy:
Nahuatl will use his serpent's call (a naga growl or whatever you wanna describe it as) to challenge and lure out the dragon. To assist in removal of wings, Nahuatl will weave the elements of air and water together for a more effective cut.

Surtekh's notes:
Quote:

Strategy: First off I am following her general strategy for the dragon hunt. The following is just how I will go about it and stuff. I will use my magic missiles, that was a joke. More seriously after we have found and engaged the dragon via the plan. Once we have it is my job to try to lock the dragon down. So throw out some water and lightning magic at it to hurt it, and use earth and air magic to try to keep it pinned on the ground, make sure I use my book of Sutekh to help my attacks. I guess more specifically, do water related things at its face, NO FIRE BREATHING. Use lightning where ever to help hurt it. Try to avoid electrocuting the dragon and my allies at the same time. For Air just try to make it where it can't take off cause its super gusty and the air is pressing down on it. As for Earth I guess have the ground sink in on him grabbing its arms and or legs?? Maybe other sensitive areas? Look if the dragon takes a rock to the crotch I will not cry. >_> don't you judge me Scarth.

For the spoils, I dunno if we can request what parts we want. but I am gonna try to use my winnings to help me craft my giant axe/cleaver. So claws, spines, teeth. You know something that would help in that regard. Your bearded kirby pic on the main page is making me paranoid btw.

For the Writer:
1) Considering none of the party has any 'tracking' techniques, let's just try to ignore that aspect of their strategy to avoid embarrassing them, and just say they tracked it the old-fashioned way.
2) Considering none of the party has any 'attack' spells like all of their strategies indicate, yeah, they can't really cast what they don't have. We can let it slide this time and give them a basic non-elemental spell (ala Magic Missile from DnD) since 2/3 have magic tuning equipment, but that's a this-time-only courtesy.
3) The Rhabeopax is little more than a large (albeit fast), bipedal iguana. It contains no unique abilities other than just strength and speed.

BATTLES 05/23/2011
2 Battles.

A)
BOVRIL DUELS RANDO

Quote:

BOVRIL Strategy: Go for his eyes.

Quote:

RANDO Strategy: Thanks to lack of info on the lizardman I have no clue how strong or how powerful he is. Regardless I want to shock and awe his ass by rushing in at the start of the duel and try to smash his ass. I want to do this in hit and run style attacks. I need to keep him off guard and unbalanced so I can have a better chance at defeating him. I basically want him thinking more then fighting.

BW's choice on victory.

B)
TAEL AVARIA Recons Brotherhood. Details below.
Quote:

i suppose I am in order territory and would like to recon the bridge at the southern tip.

I want to survey:
1.)how easily it might be destroyed
2.)what loads it can bear
3.) how easy order or brotherhood members can cross without the bridge
4.)how defend able the bank is with or without the bridge
5.) How large of a brotherhood presence is around and guarding the bridge.

See me for details on recon.

CO,Staff, battlewriters: Where to apply?
I hereby appoint Isaiah as CO of Faust until someone else joins his faction at least.

I have faith in you Caleb!

CO,Staff, battlewriters: Where to apply?
Lies. I've asked you if you wanted to be it a few times already Mr. Blackmage. (>^_^)>

Blackmage vs Rob Rocket! RobRocket, you should get on chat tonight (BM's usually on during the night) and the two of you discuss who wants to take it.

CO,Staff, battlewriters: Where to apply?
Of note: Anyone else wanting to be a CO should state so. Otherwise, the positions will go to Strikey and Kusu, since they're the only ones that asked for them.

Also: We still need at least 1 CO applicant for 'Ead 'Unters & Khaotics (technically Faust too, but noone joined as them yet).

CO,Staff, battlewriters: Where to apply?
Yay! I won't have to do all the writing!

CO,Staff, battlewriters: Where to apply?
Excellent.
