The pack ran quickly up the hill following where the flash was. They smiled evilly baring their long canines. The moon above Thracs shined down on them reflecting off of their green skin as they plowed through bushes and vines that stood in their way. A new arrival had come and entered Thracs. It was just another poor soul for them to extort and torment for technology or even its pride.

They carried their rifles and equipment carefully. They weren't the smartest raiders around but they were willing to use other creatures technology to their own benefit. Some clung to simple bolt-action rifles while others carried assault rifles that used caseless ammunition. A small group preferred the old ways of fighting and boldly ran to the front of the war party caring various melee weapons. The leader of the group hissed as drool fell from around the chin of his scarred mug. He carried his m134 in his hands. It was a heavy piece of equipment. but he loved the devastating rate of fire it pushed out. He used it in many raids with great effect with no one able to stand up to its punishing volume of lead poisoning. Ammunition could be hard to come by at times, but Thracs always seem to provide you with the weapons and supplies you need when you most desire it. Now was the perfect time to acquire new weapons and ammunition off of the new entry into Thracs.

They pressed on till they reached the plateau of the where the portal was opened. Trees had been pushed over when the gateway opened. It was a common thing to see when new residents entered Thracs in this manner. Smoke smoldered from the ground as the Orcs approached calmly. The grass and ground moss had been burnt to a fine black crisp circle where the target had been brought into the new and strange world of Thracs.

The mixed pack of misfits consisting of mostly Orcs and other odd medieval like creatures begin to spread out and cackle like a pack of ravenous hyenas. They had done this before. It was the usual shakedown they were preparing to do. They hoped their target had a nice batch of tech on him, or else this shakedown would be for nothing. The least they could do would be to sell their quarry off into slavery for quick money.

"East pickings." An Orc stepped forward and smiled as the smoke cleared revealing a lone figure crouched down still reeling from the trip. He tossed his CAR-15 over his shoulder and smiled with delight as he neared the target. Heavy breathing could be heard. The Orc hesitated at first but eventually ignored the unusal loud breathing. "Get up off-worlder!" The Orc demanded. The smoke soon settled revealing the light brown figure. He shook his head slightly stunned but he had his bearings.

The stranger looked around while on the ground. His green eyes almost glowing in the dark and piercing through the smoke. He rose to his feet slowly. He could hear every bone crack with joy as he stood towering over the pitiful Orc that had barked orders at him. The Orc looked on in shock at the towering mass. His height was indeed much taller then most of the Orcs in the pack or even larger then the other non-Orcs, but it was the hulking size of the new visitor that was so shocking. He shook his head still shaking loose the cob webs.

His vision stopped being blurred and his eyes fixed themselves on the CAR-15 in the Orc's hands. His hand fell to his side and it soon balled up into a fist as he gritted his teeth.

"Off-worlder you say?" Rando said with a low growl.
