Momma Dyer polished an empty glass in front of a sparsely attended bar. Before her, a tall youth was knocking bar straight whiskey, listening to the boisterous woman's tale.

"An' dis, dis Farnham. You gonna get him for your Momma? Your Momma gonna give you BIG reward, ah?"

The man smiled, showing four distinctly fanged teeth. "Yes, Momma. Right to Griswold, right?"

"Ay, you a good boy. Get goin den! Dis one on da house."

Kagai stood up, placing a few shining coins on the table. As he left, Momma Dyer picked up the coins in confusion, thinking he left a few quarters for a good amount of drinking. In her confusion, she saw faces she couldn't recognize, hundreds of years old. Biting it, her eyes opened, and she wooped. Ancient silver!

Kagai left the bar, nonchalantly walking the night time sidewalk of this lower-end neighborhood. The children who usually decorated the streets were all caged at home - no one wanted to risk angering the local drug pusher, Tubby Farnham. Kagai continued his walk, humming a small tune to himself, then turned into the shadows, disappearing into an alley.

"Hey! Music box! Unless you're here to buy, get the hell out!" A huge, muscular man blocked Kagai's path, towering over Kagai, who normally towered over others.

"You must be Tubby."

"Think again, loser!" From behind the man's leg, a small boy in loose clothes with a shining Colt Peacemaker tucked into his belt appeared. "Who wants to know?"

"My, my. This is going to be easier than I thought. You're coming with me."

At this, the huge man threw a haymaker at Kagai, who leaned back and let it sail past his face. Then, Kagai punched forward, and the giant man only smiled, unphased. Then, with a flash of light, his eyes shot open, and Kagai pulled the Fenrir keyblade out of his stomach. Kagai then shook off the blood, and the giant fell. Tubby walked back a few steps in disbelief, then pulled out his gun and pointed it.

There was a flash of light, the sound of the gun firing, and two metal-to-metal pings. When the light cleared, Kagai was armored head to toe, a small mark noted where the bullet struck, and the smoking gun was cut in half. Tubby turned to run, but Kagai's armored gauntlet grabbed his leg and caused him to fall down face first. Then, throwing him over his shoulder, Kagai made for the blacksmith - Smitty Griswold.

The black knight walked as non-chalantly as he did on his way in, only with the clang of armor, a blood-stained sword in one hand, and a child in the other. People watched with a fearful curiosity, as with Kagai's fanciful walk, he could just as easily be going out to pick daisies as deliver a drug dealer.

One of the folks watching was Enki, who stood reading a newspaper in a beige trenchcoat and hat under the glow of an oil street lamp. It looked ridiculous over the stone lizard armor, but it was his job to look inconspicuous tonight. Clearly, an idea Kagai did not share. The knight clanged down the road to Smitty's shop, the juvenile drug dealer banging on the back of his armor with his hands all the way.

Kagai was about to enter the door, and so his Fenrir keyblade disappeared into energy and back into his body, as did his armor. He went to set the child down and enter, but instead found the kid pulling free of the shoe he was holding and escaping. Tubby landed like a cat, and started scurrying across the street, hoping to get into the safety of the alleys.

Instead, a hat fell on his face, followed by a coat. Tubby threw them off, and found a newspaper floated in front of him, blocking his view. Suddenly, Enki burst through the newspaper and punched Tubby right in the face. Enki lifted the boy high above him with two arms, who kicked the stone warrior with his shoeless foot. Recoiling in pain, the kid ceased to struggle.

"I think you dropped this," Enki commented, handing the boy back to Kagai.

"Why did you help me?" Kagai returned, with a suspicious glance.

"Just think of me as a friend," Enki responded. Kagai held his gaze for a few brief moments, then disappeared with the sound of a bell, entering Smitty Griswold's blacksmith.

Across the street, under the same street lamp, in Enki's abandoned hat and coat, a brightly colored pony was up on two legs, pretending to read the sports section.

"Rats. Too late."

Renminbi tore the newspaper in half, then disappeared into the shadows.
