WTF?!!1 | ||||
Chances are, you're thinking, "Thomas, WTF?!!1 This is an RPG! Why stick a page on for some anime series I've never heard of?!" Or, if you're Ming, you're thinking, "Thomas, WTF?!!1 You're using up bandwidth! Bill Clinton sucks, all hail Ming the Merciless and Generalissimo Syaoran!" My reasons are simple: There is a disturbing lack of information on Samurai Champloo in English (although there is a suspicious amount in French...) and I want something to point to when I'm blathering about how awesome the show is. And the show is awesome. You know Cowboy Bebop? Everyone loves Cowboy Bebop, right? Cowboy Bebop's direct and head script writer are behind Samurai Champloo. Not to mention several artists and miscellaneous people. I can honestly say Samurai Champloo is the best anime to come out of Japan since Cowboy Bebop. It's now licensed and, although that means fansubs are harder to come by, it'll be released in the US soon and, considering the success of Cowboy Bebop on Cartoon Network, I wouldn't be surprised if Champloo was picked up to air on Adult Swim. As of August 15th, the first ten episodes of Champloo were available in English. And, for future reference, Champloo is a word in the Okinawan language (entirely seperate from Japanese) which means to "mix together" and is also a type of dish. |
