So say we all

I am saddened to report that as of a few days ago, Thracs RPG has closed. I personally had a lot of fun in this RPG and am really saddened to see it go. As for the other RPGs, The Colony is currently paused while the webmaster works to make some improvements to the game. I am not sure what the current state of Tales of the Dark One except it’s missed some days … Village of Eco and SEED Factor: Shattered Memories are still running well, however. So if you haven’t joined either, be sure to check them out. Things seem to be spicing up in Village of Eco as people are getting outlawed, buildings are getting destroyed, loot is getting stolen, there’s an assassin/prostitute running about that may kill you before or after “servicing” you and … and one of the players (a gang member or warlord or something) is infatuated about making a fountain for their house.

*takes a look at the Present RPG’s page to make sure she hasn’t missed anything* Okay … umm … I need to consult with the other officers as there’s an RPG here I don’t recognize. *moments later* Alright, looks like it’s a World of Darkness forum game. It’s called Dwell in Darkness, so check it out if you’re a WoD fan, of which I know there are a few of you out there. It’s not from within our community, but that should be no reason to not check it out.

Sitewise, I’ve made a number of changes and worked on a number of things with the other officers since my last post.

There’s a new login widget for your convenience on the right that you can use instead of the make-shift login at the bottom of the page, and the site is now a bit shinier after updating its theme.

Officers and editing a page or post: When editing a post or page you can now actually see the previous revisions (i.e. changes made to the page) at the bottom of the page . Revisions can be VERY useful if you’re not very comfortable with HTML and you make a mistake. They allow you to revert back to (up to 30) previous saved versions of the page or post to undo any changes you may have made. They also list the last people to have edited that page or post. So Meridia Island officers, if you’re not comfortable with HTML, don’t be afraid of breaking something. Changes can be easily undone. That said, please don’t be reckless either.

Image gallery: There’s a new Draco’s Hangar page. Draco and I have fixed his broken images in the gallery. The Gundam Ship’s scans have also been fixed so you can actually see the pictures now without having any loading problems. It was important to Kusuriurite that the pictures be very available for people. So apart from being able to click on the pictures and download them one by one, a download link to a .zip file (54 MB) is attached. Feel free to use it for whatever means. Also, every picture in the gallery now have captions by default.

Chat stats are up to date: http://meridiaisland.com/community/stats/

If you check our Past RPGs section, you’ll see that more of the RPGs have been archived properly on Meridia. We’ve gone through nearly 30 RPGs in the past few weeks/days and have about … I think 26 more left.

There’s a new page under the RPG Workshop titled RPG Webbie Resources. It’s a collection of useful tools, guides and whatnot for creating and running an RPG. A newbie webmaster would find it more useful than a seasoned webmaster, but it should be of some use even for the latter.

If any of you use RSS, I’d like to remind you that this website does have an RSS feed (orange icon at the top left). It can be especially useful for people who disappear for long periods of time for whatever reason and may be curious as to what’s going on in the community, or even for people who’d rather not check this site that often, but would still like to be kept up to date. I personally use Google Reader as my RSS client and love having to only open up an RSS client in order to keep up with the news and my personal interests without repeatedly having to check multiple websites.

In order to remain relevant to the post’s title, here’s a memorable BSG song:
