Just to show people that games can get much more complicated then this, these are a couple of the things I'm doing right now.

#1 - Trafalgar!

We're doing a Battle of Trafalgar game on ACTS (link on links page) with 61 players, each player plays one ship. It's done based off of the Close Action rules, and we do one turn a week. The rules are about 60 pages long I think, and the captains are only allowed to communicate with each other with one flag signal per turn, with a set playbook of signals. You do not see the signals till a turn after they are sent in as well.

#2 - Field of Glory!

Tabletop historical wargaming, also very complicated. We have a group that gets together every other Saturday for sum games, I am doing this tomorrow. On Halloween I know right. Games last about 4 hours each, and it's pretty fun. It's also crazy complicated, the rulebook is 170 pages long. It's not really the same thing as Games Workshop games, which are tailored for young people and people who don't really want to be competitive, as well as tailored to selling figures (lol). FoG is very organized and we do tournaments and state/regional championships, and there's an international championship every year (Aleksei went to the team tournament with us in Lisbon! Woo!)

This is the army I'm bringing tomorrow:

CLASSICAL INDIAN - 300 BC
+2 Initiative, Agricultural/Woodlands/Tropical

1x Mauryan Inspired Commander
2x Mauryan Troop Commander
1x Republican Allied Troop Commander

1 - 6x Forest Tribesmen - Unprotected Average Undrilled Bow LightFoot
2 - 6x Archers - Unprotected Average Drilled Bow Swordsmen MediumFoot
3 - 6x Archers - Unprotected Average Drilled Bow Swordsmen MediumFoot
4 - 6x Archers - Unprotected Average Drilled Bow Swordsmen MediumFoot
5 - 6x Archers - Unprotected Average Drilled Bow Swordsmen MediumFoot
6 - 6x Allied Archers - Unprotected Average Undrilled Bow Swordsmen MediumFoot
7 - 6x Allied Archers - Unprotected Average Undrilled Bow Swordsmen MediumFoot
8 - 5x Cavalry - Protected Average Drilled LightSpear Cavalry
9 - 8x Javelinmen - Protected Average Drilled LightSpear Swordsman MediumFoot
10 - 4x Clubmen - Protected Average Undrilled HeavyWeapon MediumFoot
11 - 2x Elephants - Average Undrilled Elephants
12 - 4x Heavy Chariots - Superior Drilled Bow HeavyChariot
13 - 4x Heavy Chariots - Superior Drilled Bow HeavyChariot

So when you guys whine about OYW being complicated, rest assured that I could make it much worse.

Ah man! I love that game! Especially when they introduced sea monsters and subs and...wait. I'm thinking of WizKids' Pirates CCG game.

No offense but your Classical Indian setup seems like it'd be pretty easy to outmaneuver.

I'm just saying. You only have one Cavalry unit, sure the archers help but it all depends on terain then I guess.

Yeah except that army is so large it can deploy from table edge to table edge and has no flanks.
