Sound disables itself if the system is kept idle for two-three hours and can only be re-enabled on restart.
wine randomly does not work.
Closing wine bluescreens the system about 25% of the time.
wine randomly will freeze when starting a program, but continues to use the video card at an accelerating rate until the system overheats
Commercial DVDs do not work at all whatsoever
Fingerprint reader does not work
Integrated webcam does not work
Integrated microphone does not work
Microphone jack does not work
Cannot play a number of new games in wine, including but not limited to: Darkfall, Left4Dead, Medieval: Total War, or Dragon Age: Origins
Cannot find NES or Sega Genesis emulators with GUI support. I don't like programs that are only accessible via command line.
Cannot sync iPod touch without using virtualbox and seriously modifying it
Virtualbox is buggy, sometimes will not open at all
USB microphones do not work
Wireless card randomly stops working and requires restart
Needed to do a ridiculous roundabout fix for my Atheros wifi card.
Keyboard will randomly fail entirely and requires restart
Numpad on keyboard randomly will not work on boot and requires restart

Keyboard will randomly lock up for a second or two and then type one letter 10-20 times.
Pidgin: Yahoo Messenger does not work
Pidgin: file transfers do not work in MSN
Pidgin: Cannot see display pictures in MSN, MSN people cannot see my display picture
Pidgin: Randomly crashes when in a multi-person MSN chatroom

Set up a dual boot either way! Who knows when your system will start hating you.
And yeah... I probably would have given up on Linux or at least Ubuntu with that many problems. I say almost because I'm pretty stubborn when it comes to tinkering and fixing things. I usually don't give up unless I really have to. And because I'm not always sane. A sane person wouldn't get so obsessed about fixing things.
