This week we're going to be holding contests to kick off joining. The rules and prizes are detailed below. Each contest will have a 1st prize winner and a runner up. No member will win more than one prize. I will be the sole judge for all contests. Enjoy!
Contest #1 - RPing contest.
This contest will go to the best RPing in the RP board. Judging will be based not only on the quality of posts but also on the size of posts, and number of seperate threads made. More is not necessarily better. Oldtype contestants who try to act like newtypes for purpose of winning the prize will have their posts deleted.
1st prize - +1 NT rating.
2nd prize - 100 RP
Contest #2 - Profile contest.
This contest will go to the best profile on the profiles board. Judging will be based not only on the quality of the profile history itself, but also on length, and how informative it is. Profiles exist for writers to get a good and quick background of a character, and should be tailored to a writers needs, one of which is a concise, well formatted, easy to read post.
1st prize - A specialization relevant to the character.
2nd prize - 100 RP
Contest #3 - Planning contest.
This contest will go to the single individual who does the most to help organize and assist his side in planning on the passworded forums this week. Posts do not have to be in character. Judging will be based not only on how ingenious the persons plans are, but also on how much they are willing to attempt to make people organized and working together, and how successful they are in this endeavor.
1st prize - A 1 rank promotion.
2nd prize - 100 RP
Contest #4 - Character contest.
This contest will go to the individual that, in my opinion, has the most interesting and unique character. We've gone through four runs of OYW, and I've seen a lot of different characters, but every time somebody manages to surprise me with something I haven't seen before. This contest should encourage people to play character ideas that they haven't tried before.
1st prize - An additional optional armament for your mobile weapon.
2nd prize - 100 RP
Contest #5 - Battle writer contest.
In order to give people battles to read over the week, and improve the quality of our battle writing staff, anyone who tries out as a battle writer on any of the tryout threads will be put towards this contest. The most well written battle will receive an RP prize. I will be counting not only quality of the writing, but also whether or not the battle formatting and length is correct.
1st prize - 250 RP
2nd prize - 50 RP
Contest #6 - Big News contest.
This contest will go to whoever posts the funniest picture in Big News over the course of the week. Remember, no text!
1st prize - 250 RP
2nd prize - 50 RP
All contest winners will be announced Saturday the 24th.
The trivia will be on Saturday (24th) night in the IRC channel, at an hour yet to be decided. It will be split up into four sections. 1 on OYW era storylines that were animated, one on OYW era technology, one on OYW era storylines that were comics or video games, and one on the RPG itself. The people to get the most answers correct out of all four categories will be the winners, and tie-breaker questions may be required. There will be a first place, second place and third place winner, and each winner will receive a prize dictated by the prize ships thread. A fourth place winner will receive 100 RP.
All trivia players who participate but do not win prizes will receive 50 RP.
Contest #7 - Coordination Contest
The first side to have legitimate profiles up for 100% of its members will receive 250 side RP. Additionally, the first side to have 100% of its members apply for side board access will receive 250 side RP.
Please respond to this thread with any questions, as well as what time you can make it for the trivia. If enough people can't show we can change it to Friday or Sunday.
