I wonder where this guy went to?
Where could he have gone?
Hey, whats that smell?
Unlike the normal response when asked this question the response was returned by silence and sniffing. A beautiful fragrance filled the air of the coastal base of Manila. One aroma that the soldiers aren't familiar with smelling their location. The powerful scent was impossible to ignore. A few soldiers left from their posts and the barracks just to go to the Mess Hall.
Gathering together the soldiers walked in to find an unfamiliar cook in the back. He wore a red shirt and a light smile of satisfaction as he taste tested his prepared meal. The noise from everyone else otherwise disturbed his peace somewhat.
"You guys just gonna drool or are you gonna have a seat?"
None would dare refuse the offer as plates and bowls spread and the men ate a gourmet meal. Word quickly spread out about the new chef in the Mess Hall. It took only a matter of minutes before the higher ups heard and went to investigate.
There were many things to get done around the base and it would seem there were few soldiers at their post.
"What the hell is this?"
All the soldiers in Mess Hall immediately stood at attention as second in command made his way through. The man went into the kitchen and found the man in red. He also went to attention as the man set him at ease.
"We've been looking for you all day, Till and this is where you have been?"
The man walks out of the kitchen with the notion to Till to follow him as they enter into the audience of the well fed soldiers.
"This is not a new chef! He is the missing pilot everyone seemed to forget to search for." The man looked over a the man in red as he faced everyone else.
"I'm Corporal Ernest Till, I've just been deployed and sent to Earth not to long ago. I cook when I'm nervous" Ernest stepped back to the man as he began to continued to head out from the Mess.
"Oh and since Corporal Till treated you to a meal. Tend to this mess and then get back to your fucking posts!"
The soldiers saluted and cleaned their mess as they got off their cloud nine in food.
From that time Ernest Till would be refered to as "Chef" by his peers from time to time.
