'Ello! Seeing as how this is my first ever action in a OYW RPG, and I'm still getting used to its mechanics, and am not 100% sure about working within the confines of its technology... well... I'm a little uncertain about my startegy for today. I was hoping you all could give it a glance over, and offer any feedback/fill in any gaps in logic before I submit it later tonight. I'd really appreciate it.
I should note, however, that this is based on the assumption that the "fleet members" Scarth noted to me in a PM earlier are ships. If they aren't, it will change the strategy quite a bit. (Namely, make it a lot simpler... But including others is fun ^_^!)
'ere goes...

'ere goes...
Prior to mission start, Aldo will have taken advantage of Zeon’s control of the satellite grid to communicate with Manila via Beijing. Lasers are pretty secure, so there shouldn’t be much issue with our strategy getting intercepted. But since their COMM tower is damaged, the communiqué will have to be a series of concise strings:
P0) To Manila: Send report of enemy numbers. Beijing will confirm.
Once that information is received, confirmed, and passed along to our allies (Scarth), Beijing will respond with orders…
P1) Manila attacks with full force at 14:00 hours. Confirm.
P2) Air troops to provide anti-air and anti-AA fire support against besieging fleet, as well as distract from Aldo Team’s Dom. Confirm.
P3) Aquatic troops to target Himalaya’s engines/propeller. Focus on disabling Himalaya weapons afterwards. Confirm.
P4) Targets will be Himalaya + 2 Hillock + Medea + any non-YELLOW ships (ooc: incase fleet’s received reinforcements). Confirm.
P5) Important: Ignore any ship with YELLOW flare and 3 x Dom. Confirm.
P6) On arrival 1 Hillock will quickly be painted w/ GREEN flare by allied (YELLOW) ships. Confirm.
P7) In case of GREEN Hillock, only target the ship’s weapons. Do not engage units attacking GREEN Hillock. Confirm.
P8) Continue attacking until victory. Goal to capture Himalaya + GREEN Hillock, destroy 1 Hillock + Medea + any ship not YELLOW. Confirm.
P9) If GREEN Hillock captured, YELLOW + PURPLE Flare. If GREEN Hillock capture impossible, RED + PURPLE flare. Destroy. Confirm.
P10) If Himalaya captured, YELLOW + BLUE flare. If Himalaya capture impossible, RED + BLUE Flare. Destroy. Confirm.
P11) If defeat imminent, retreat to Manila. Retreat on ORANGE flare. End communication. Confirm.
Basically, I figure if we keep the content of each string short we can send them back for hours on end until we get it right. Actual coordination in the battle will be visual based (flares). Minovsky conditions aren’t as bad on Earth as in space, but why take chances?
Manila will begin the attack and launch their Dopps & Luggun & Dodai YS w/ L4 Zaku II S and 2 x L3 Zaku II J in the air, and Goggs and Z’Gok in the water. Scarth will already be situated among the EF fleet. At 14:00, his ships will launch several green flares at the nearest Hillock, mark their own positions with yellow flares, and proceed to attempt a capture operation. Neither Hillock has Marines aboard, so I’m hoping his limited firepower + Manila’s air support will allow him to take the ship. If it proves impossible, he should send up a Red + Purple flare and pull back. This will signal to us that we are free to engage and destroy the green Hillock.
If he does manage to seize the Hillock, he can turn its guns on the Himalaya. If the Hillock survives, and he wants it, I see no reason why he shouldn’t be allowed to keep it. Or, at least, be reimbursed by Zeon with RP. Not sure how all that works though, so if it’s not my decision to make, please disregard…
At the same time, I’ll arrive a minute and a half after fire commences. My objective is to quickly approach the non-green Hillock and blast it with my beam bazooka. Doms will not engage planes directly; if ships manage to notice our surprise approach, we will strafe and use speed to attempt to avoid fire. Hopefully the Dopps and Dodai will do us proud… If I hit the Hillock, my two Dom escorts will unload with giant bazookas and try to finish it off. If I miss, they’ll still fire on it, and I’ll disengage, recharge bazooka, and come around for another pass. Keep attacking until the sucker is drowned.
Once the Hillock is taken care of, we’ll turn our attention to the Himalaya. My objective is to jet up to its flight deck with the two Doms and attempt to capture it. Hopefully by now the air forces will have managed to whittle away a lot of their turrets, and the Dodai YS + MS from Manila will have engaged any operational enemy MS. Again, we’re trying to capture the Himalaya – preferably by destroying its bridge. If that proves impossible, I or any surviving member of my team or any surviving member of Manila’s MS team will send up a red + blue flare to signal it should be destroyed.
We’ll continue to hammer away at the fleet until it’s either captured, destroyed, or it’s obvious we cannot succeed. If our defeat is imminent, I or one of my surviving team members will send up an orange flare. We’ll attempt to retreat into the Manila base, and help fortify its position for the imminent offensive.
If we win, and it’s possible, I’d like to capture as many Federation soldiers (and PCs) as I can and throw them in Manila’s cell blocks. ‘Cause interrogation/execution roleplaying is fun ^_^.
