The cold darkness of the outer space enveloped the GM-E and the RX-78-1 as they landed on the Floppy Lion. Simmons tilted the head of the GM-E back to note that Myberg is landing nearby, with Cato Goloni's own machine in tow. He couldn't taunt his superior officer now, with the spread of minovsky particles, but Marc comforted himself with the fact that there will be opportunities in debriefing.
Meanwhile...the GM turned its head to the opposite direction, now looking at the RX-78-1. Simmons stared at Issa's machine in a mix of disgust and fascination. He wondered if the new head configuration had any other purpose other than to scare the enemy shitless, but that was the least of his concern. He knew it was against regulations, but Simmons briefly glanced over Issa Kobayashi's shoulder as he read the operations manual of the prototype. And he noted that some sort of a system was located in the Gundam's crotch. The black and white machine stood idle, but the GM-E pilot was aware of the thick and stout package that the Gundam was carrying compared to his own GM's.
Deciding to satisfy his own curiosity, Simmons' GM turned 90 degrees to face the Gundam and casually grabs the Gundam's crotch with the GM's free hand. He transmitted a message through the electrifying physical contact, the GM seemingly winking in morse code.
"Hey. Mind if I check out the unknown system in there later, or is that a top level classification?"

Two faint thrashes could be heard just outside the cockpit of Cato's GM. The two mechanics that were sent out to check the damage done to the mobile suit stared at each other in confusion as two more thrashes could be heard inside the cockpit.
"Ensign Goloni? Is everything alright?" The mechanic asked with a hint of hesitation knowing of the officer's temper. The cockpit door finally opened and out came Cato drifting past the two mechanics. The officer wiggled his fingers on his right hand. His frustration had reached a all time high and he had decided to take two weeks of anger out on his mobile suits cockpit, only now that his knuckles were swelling up did he start to relise it was a bad ideal.
In front of Cato stood the mighty RX-78-1 Gundam that made a huge impact in the fight against the Zeon ship that attacked them. Cato floated to the side of the suit and took notice at some of the damage on the Gundam. Cato looked over the entire figure of the mobile suit in astonishment on what little damage the Zeon inflicted on it.
"Impressive" Cato thought to himself. The cockpit of the Gundam finally opened and the pilot came outside of the black suit. The pilot glanced in Cato's direction. The officer saluted the Gundam's pilot as a form of respect. Just as Cato drifted past the Gundam, Marc Simmons emerged from his damaged GM e. "You did well Simmons." Both men exchanged salutes.
"Maybe the space natzees will do me a favor and shoot you one of these days." The thought brought a smile across Cato's face as he looked back at his suit. The battered GM stood on a magnetic clamp with a stubbed from where the was cut off. He knew he would have to learn from his mistakes if he wanted to match Zeon pilots in mobile suit combat.
Just as Cato was about to turn and leave he took notice at he nearly spotless GM e of Emil Myberg. Cato was so angered by his performance against the Zeon pilot that he didn't notice the mint condition of Emil's mobile weapon.
"That sum bitch however is a god damn disgrace." Cato said loud enough so that even Emil would hear him.

Issa came to when he heard the distinctive thud of tethering lines being fired onto the surface of his Gandamu. Return was often accomplished with autopilot, the Gundam had some very VERY advanced avionics...
...Thank god for that.
It was certainly a thing... He thought, throwing his feet up on the forward HUD console and pulling his notebook out, throwing in reactor notes.
Most assuredly, I am alive today because of this weapons capability for defense, and because of it's weapons ability to reach out and touch the enemy.
A small crackling sound came over his headset and the distinctive pressure took over the cockpit, he knew he was in the hangar and time to shut down. Completing his checklists he removed his helmet and slapped shut his notebook.
"Issa? Issa, Sir? Are you ready to depart?" the ICS call came over his headset, it was the crewchiefs. They called him sir, a sign of respect. Most if not all of them were Sgt's and above his rank. Issa climbed from the cockpit of his mobile-suit, and floated out after exchanging a sharp salute back with Ensign Goloni. His superior officer, and flight commander.
"Sir. Thank you for the support out there." I think we did immesurably well considering the circumstances." He paused biting his thumb, "We can thank the keen eyes on the bridge for that."
Issa floated past, catching his chief; "Perfect chief, she'll need some paint and a patch or two on the back plates, but she's on stock." Issa called out, the chief threw a thumbs up, not even looking. He was already plugged in with a computer pouring over data while his crew was already at work reloading, rearming and running post-flight checks.

"That sum bitch however is a god damn disgrace."
Emil sighed.
"My goodness, that guy.. he doesn't have any modesty, does he?"
"Maybe you should've left him out there in space!"
The loud voice surprised Emil a bit. He looked around, but he didn't see anyone nearby.
"Not like you would ever do something like that though, 'Mr. I don't wanna kill anyone'. You damn wimp."
This time the voice was even louder, and there was still noone close enough to do such a thing, and the comms system in his Mobile Suit was not on..
He decided to ask one of the mechanics working on the Gundam if he'd heard a loud voice, but he hadn't heard anything. Emil was pretty curious about this voice, but it had become quiet.
With nothing else to do, he thought he could introduce himself to one of the pilots he hadn't met yet, and tried knocking on the cockpit of the wierd GM that had joined them in the battle against the Zeon fleet.
"Hey, anyone in there?"

Rachel listened to the inane chatter for a few seconds, then turned the gain on her radio down. This was her first battle in such a large scale battle that wasn't a simulation. Closing her eyes, she pictured the battle in her mind again. That's not it, that's not it! She slammed her hand against the console's edge, wincing as several drops of blood began floating away.
It was at that moment that a knock came from the hatch, which jerked Rachel's mind away from dancing lights and back to her cockpit. She quickly keyed open the hatch, and removed her heavy helmet, making sure not to tangle the dozens of wires. Undoing her harness, she pushed herself to drift out the hatch, careful not to get blood on her pressure suit.
Catching hold of the light scaffolding that folded around the docked suit, she faced the man who disturbed her brooding. Having lived in microgravity for the majority of the past few years, the fact that she was upside down in relation to him and the suit didn't bother her at all. Smiling him, she gestured at the suit.
"The armor needs to be removed and checked for flaws, though most sections should be fine. The left remote shoulder unit's Z-up verniers seem to have a fuel line blockage, they were unresponsive in that direction. Other than that, you guys have done a great job keeping her in shape." Saying that, she turned to leave, but canceled her inertia and turned back.
"Hey, you're pretty young. Did you just get out of the tech academy?"

Emil was surprised to see a young girl get out of the GM and was just standing there, watching at her for a while.
But then he figured that being on the good side on somebody on this ship actually might be a good idea, so showing some respect to her might get her to watch his back in battle. Emil salutes his superior officer,
"No ma'am, I'm Seaman Recruit Emil Myberg, and I pilot that thing over there"
Emil points towards his GM E, which still doesn't have a single scratch on it.
"Great work out there, Miss..."

Meanwhile, Simmons was pestering the technicians working on the RX-78-1, performing routine tests and maintenance. The aggressive body language made by the pilot meant that he wasn't getting his way.
"Come on, man! I told you, just explain to them that I'm an expert on mobile suits. There is no justice in denying me access to the suit just because I don't have the proper clearance levels! I can make this thing's power gain go five times higher!"
The other man, clearly exasperated, turned around and began to ignore Simmons while heading towards his superior with contents of his report.
"..No, don't do this to me! No, come on! I have a right to see that mobile suit! It's clearly the predecessor to the GMs! You can't DO this to me!"

Embarassed, Rachel returned the salute with her non-bleeding hand, though her other hand was quickly clotting. "Seaman Arronax", she said, rolling her eyes at the centuries old term, "Seaman Rachel Arronax. I'm on...indefinite loan to the fleet from EFSF Mobile Weapons Research and Development." Biting her lip, she looked away for a moment, as if remembering something unpleasant.
"As for my performance...I'll have to look at the data, but I felt I was far under my target efficiency. But it could just be nerves. Still, thank you for the compliment."
Glancing at Emil's GM, she pondered for a second. "Wait, why are you praising me? You didn't get hit at all that I can see!"

"Eh.. I'm just lucky, I guess. Besides, that mobile suit of yours looks quite a bit more complicated to pilot than mine. Anyway, pleased to meet you, miss Arronax."
Emil was reaching out his hand as to try to give his superior officer a handshake, but while he was doing so he noticed she seemed to be bleeding from one of her hands, and he grabbed it in order to get a closer view.
"Ah, this won't do! Unless we're all in top shape around here, we won't be able to survive. Come on, let's go get you checked up at the infirmary, alright?"
