Hello, gentlemen!
I am pleased to announce that after much sacrifice, our two primary EFGF-based threats have been (at least momentarrily) neutralized as of tonight's update.
The 42nd Brigade
Tonight's attack by Andrew and Draco was the nail in the coffin for these scrappy folks, as one PC was destroyed and another sent MIA, with 7 days of injury. Only two PCs remain in North Africa, and both are going to be unable to counterattack going into the weekend AFAIK. For the moment, RF-1 is safe.
The 87th Naval blah blah blah
The siege on Manila was finally broken by the back-to-back efforts of Kale and Chris, forcing a disbanding of the enemy fleet and allowing us to capture a PC Infantry unit.
Going into the weekend, we have a few key issues I think we need to address:
1) How much, if any, RP we would like to invest in buying additional defenses for RF-1 and Manila, or if side RP can take care of all of it?
2) What we can do (if anything) with the PC captured at Manila?
3) How should we position ourselves in preparation for the missions that are probably coming next week?
Edit - I made a poll (as per the rules) about what to do with Tael Thorn. Also, I would like to point out that I discovered tonight (not knowing this before) that any Side RP used between now and Odessa is Side RP we won't have for Odessa (I forget who said that, but it does kind of make sense)
It would appear that my ship and Dan's ship are going to be out of commission for a few days at least, so do you guys still interested into dividing into groups to focus on different areas of the world / theaters of war, or would you like to send a majority of our forces to conduct operations against White Base (the missions, I'm assuming) next week? If it's the latter, we could have people start moving there via West Arctic and (in some cases) be ready to rock as early as Tuesday.
Personally I think it'd be neat if we all started moving to North America via West Arctic, but as an example of a "Madden'ism" we could "zig when they think you're gonna zag" and drop off some people in West Arctic to conduct punitive raids against Augusta in preparation of capturing Christina MacKenzie. > : D
j/k about the last part (mostly). But I do think we face an interesting situation in terms of how many people we want to invest into the Side missions.
