Fellas,
I'm growing very concerned about the state of recent events. The mistakes made with Manila have revealed the cracks in our organization and we need to fix them ASAP if we want to have a chance against the Zeeks on Earth. Cohesion is the only thing separating the Feds from the Zeeks right now.
A few notes up for discussion...
-Movement: Please read the rules, it takes +1 day if you are moving in and out of a base. That means that if we want to form a fleet, we got to have all PCs and ships in the same location, i.e. East Asia, and not Southeast Asia HQ.
-Ship Purchases: You can only buy ships on a base and friendly territory. In the case of Manila, officer Jarvis Ackart (Kyle) will need to travel to either the Indian or Pacific Ocean before we can get that Himalaya because East Asia is contested territory. That being said, if an officer orders you on a Monday to travel to a contested territory and buy a Himalaya for a siege on a Wednesday, don't travel to the contested territory and then buy the Himalaya. Use your logic and think steps ahead. Post your ideas in the boards or message him in chat or e-mail and correct him. If you don't have time, just send in the correction you think is more logically sound.
-Jojo: You have been doing a great job relating strategy brought up in the officer forums, sending out orders on a daily basis (and calculating the budget for restocking fleets), and modifying attack plans based on everyone's input. My only suggestion is that if such modifications are made, you make those changes on the original post so that it can be our reference point.
-Kyle: We need to hear more from you. Even if you don't consider yourself a great strategist and don't have that much free time, we need more you to coordinate better with the other officers. If we split up our forces into two fleets, it is your responsibility to ensure that ship movements are happening in a timely fashions and that we have enough cargo space to house our participating PCs.
-Drewsie: Like Kyle, we need to hear more from you. I will reiterate what I have already expressed to you via messages. The other EFGF players and I are very reluctant to just hand over RP to an officer who doesn't lay out financial details of what he needs and for what purpose. Check out Jojo's first week posts about buying the Medeas, Hillocks and Himalaya for excellent examples on how to do that. If you have a plan, lay it out at least a week beforehand in order to get suggestions. Set a timeline, so that we are not left in the dark. Keep things organized.
-Inactives: We have some players who are obviously not sending in actions or doing so on an infrequent basis. E-MAIL THEM. I did this during the first week and it helped get some players moving or on the message board to find out what was going on. E-MAIL. E-MAIL. E-MAIL.
-Chat: As mentioned in other threads, we should think about setting up a group chat to discuss strategy at least once or twice a week. Tuesday night seems like a good time since it gives us time to readjust our strategy midweek. Sunday could be more relaxed in the sense that we could just toss up ideas and see what everyone thinks. Obviously we will post a transcript of the chat to get credit or something.
