3 Days from Earth, L3, 401(K), Zeon Expeditionary Force Ship Dock, Lucifer’s Fury, Tivvay-class Mobile Suit hangar deck
Despite the sound of heavy machinery and clatter of equipment, there is a depressing silence choking the soldiers of the Zeon Expeditionary Force. Mechanics mindlessly lumber over their tasks. Messengers move around like automatons. Deck officers shuffle their paperwork awkwardly. MS pilots, normally jovial and bursting with ego, are quiet and thoughtful as they mill around the hangar deck.
Even the mobile suits seem to rest at an uneasy angle of depression in their cages.
This was the scene that 2nd Lieutenant Wu Jinyuan sees as he emerges from the corridor. Next to him is Captain Jeanne Schwert, a tired expression on her face as usual. She walks up to Jinyuan, who had stopped at the railing overlooking the hangar bay.
“Here you go,” she says with her voice dripping with sarcasm,” your glorious fighters of the Zeon Expeditionary Force.”
Jinyuan looks at her with an eyebrow raised,” see? I knew you’ll see things my way.”
The 2nd Lieutenant turns and walks down the stairs to the main deck. “What are you doing?” asks Schwert.
He waves back at her without turning,” Doing what I do best of course.”
“This isn’t a cocktail party with fat politicians you know!” warns Schwert.
“Same game, different words!” retorts Jinyuan as he walks off.

Holding onto one of the transport handles with one hand and her helmet with the other, Nadia watched as the sight of the Lucifer Fury's hangar bay became bigger and bigger up ahead. The hot shower had definitely raised her spirits and the chance to clean out and disinfect her space suit was another perk that made her time spent on board the Zeon warship quite enjoyable. She laughed to herself realizing that she took these simple things for granted back on Side 3 and even Solomon, but out here she realized nothing was certain.
Seeing the numerous different mobile suits shackled to the hangar bay was again a sight to behold and she could even recognize a couple of them. After pausing a moment to take in the entire scene, Nadia stepped off and excused herself as she moved past a female ranking officer near the top of the flight of stairs. She slowly launched herself off the railing and drifted weightlessly toward the floor of the bay and subsequently caught sight of the ship's commander, or at least the backside of whom she suspected was the lieutenant.
Crossing paths with him, Nadia threw up a salute and called out his name, hopelessly anglicizing the man's name, "Commander Jinyuan?"
She took his return of the salute as a signal and continued, "Hello commander, I'm not sure if you remember me, but I flagged your ship so I could come aboard for repairs. I, um, feel like a vagrant doing this, but unfortunately I must take off due to an ongoing assignment. However, I would like to personally thank you for allowing me to use your facilities on board this ship."
Nadia gave a wee smile, taking notice to the man's rather sharp widow's peak and refined facial features, but otherwise tried to maintain a structured and formal atmosphere as was the case with superior officers. It was always good to play it safe.

Richard sighed as he entered the Fury's hangar. He'd been assigned a Musai, only to have it reduced to the Komusai he had placed his new Rick Dom in, the previous damaged one having been lost when the Erinyes's primary hangar went up. He was still getting used to the new one, something that annoyed him. Mobile suits weren't cheap to replace, and Rick Doms were still rare amongst the SAF and space-bound MAF forces.
"But I'm alive and healthy, and that's all I can really ask for at this stage. We haven't been dealt a mortal wound, we've just had our noses bloodied a bit. It's happened before, and it will again. Now to find my MAF counterpart..."
Spotting the Erinyes's previous captain, he made his way over to where she was standing, and from the looks of it, she was annoyed over something, presumably something that Jinyuan had done or said, as even having spent a short period of time with the fleet, Richard had learned that the two rarely got along.
"Captain Schwert? Ensign Richard Banks of the SAF. Thanks for letting my subordinates and myself use this ship while the Erinyes is in...well, rough shape."
He gave a weary smile as he spoke. He hadn't gotten too much sleep after the previous engagement with the Federation, and it showed, though he made attempts to hide just how exhausted he was feeling.

Siobhan didn't like these orders, nor did she think there was a particularly worse time to have recieved them. Florian had been mere hours away. No doubt he was heartbroken at those orders, but Shiv was worried about him. They hadn't been able to see much of eachother since the initial dispatch from Granada, and She'd only been able to see him in combat once or twice. She was worried about his stress levels, had said as much to Ritzky back at the institute. He said he'd take care of it.
'Well, if he does go buggy, there won't be a better place for him to do it, I guess'
BUt still, that left the bespeckled woman alone with the fleet - And while she was well enough aquainted with military protocol and going-ons, this would have been the fist time she'd actually been on a battleship. It was alternately exciting and terrifying, and she thought she made quite the site, always looking around in barely concealed awe like a civilian. Of course, she'd stayed out of the way as best she could during repairs and the like, and the remaining Flannagan staff had made sure she was always close to a safe way off the ship should need arise.
There was no danger of that happening at the moment, however. The feds never traveled this far out into space, so Siobhan felt relatively safe exploring the ship. The Hangar bay was her current destination, and, upon arrival, she smiled a bit at what seemed her good luck. Both commanding officers of the fleet were present, as well as a younger woman who, if he hadn't been fibbing, Florian had made aquaintance with not long ago.
Quietly, the blond settled next to the group, reflexively pushing her glasses up to their proper place on her nose, and greeted the collection of people with a casual wave.
"Lieutenant, Ensign. Good to find you all well."

Wu Jinyuan paused as he heard a different female voice call out for him. The sound of new female company compelled him to turn around giving his best confident smile.
A woman taller than him floats over to him. The first thing Jinyuan recognizes is the civilian uniform of the Zeonic Company. As the woman spoke, Jinyuan’s mind reviews all of the transactions and relations he had with that company.
“Nadia Adelaide isn’t it?” he asks extending his hand as he recalls part of the test pilot list he saw many weeks ago,” anyone from the Zeonic Company is welcome in my fleet. I have many friends who worked the development of the original Zaku line.”
Which is a partially true. Having a prototype from one of the primary weapons manufacturers of Zeon under his control is always a good thing. It means the bribes and investments he pulled before this war of independence have been worthwhile. It also doesn’t hurt that the pilot of the Zaku I MPSET is a fairly decent looking woman.
Back up on the walkway overlooking the hangar bay, Jeanne Schwert frowns. For some reason, seeing Jinyuan talking to another woman had made her upset. Probably of the remote possibility that the civilian-turned-officer might start an illicit relationship with the enlisted soldiers. At the very least, Schwert has to keep the jerk out of trouble
The captain of the Lucifer’s Family began to walk down to the hangar floor when a voice caught her attention.
“Ah, Ensign Banks,” greets Schwert with more relief than she would admit. It is good to speak to a proper professional officer, even if it’s for a little while. “You shouldn’t trouble yourself too much, the Erinyes fought hard. At the very least, you manage to get the crew out in the Komusai.”
She resumes walking down to the hangar floor. “You’ll have to excuse me Ensign, but I need to keep up with the Lieutenant.”
The captain closed in on the last few feet to her charge. Great, now he’s giving her that LOOK. Damage control seems to be my real purpose in this-…. Oh great, ANOTHER woman? thought Schwert.
Before her eyes, yet another woman approaches Wu Jinyuan. The 2nd Lieutenant is more than happy to greet the blond, glasses wearing, green eyed woman in the growing group.
Jinyuan caught a glance of Schwert’s frown as he smiled at the blond woman. “Greetings to you too, ma’am… and you are?”
