Um... we may have a problem... any enemy units moving on or off the compound MUST engage and defeat the Sieging fleet in order to do so. I'm still at 4 days repairs

Hmm. Since the sally forth would be distracting the siege, wouldn't it work somewhat like if you were trying to move into enemy territory while you were repairing? At worst, you would be blocked by the "patrols?" It'd seem kind of absolute if there were simply no way of getting out of a base that is under siege, regardless of what is thrown at the enemy to distract them.
We're also hoping that the sally forth will be aimed primarily at the Gywidon and Golden Platypus. If we can break those down (Gwydion being disabled, Golden Platypus heavily damaged) it cracks the fleet and ends the siege temporarily.
