G’evening/morning all. I wanted to go ahead and start an official thread to discuss and prepare our actions in the terrestrial war for this coming week. The officers have hobbled together a working plan out of pipe cleaners and anal lube. If you all could please comment or confirm or flame the idea, as always, it’d be awfully appreciated.
Europe
We have Dragon and Stilva and Excelsior stationed at Europe on Monday. Stilva is OK, Dragon is lightly damaged, and Excelsior is damaged.
The Baneblade Squadron is also in Europe on Monday. It is heading towards Belfast, and would be a real… well… bane if it were allowed to setup shop at the fortress.
Nigel Ferdinand and his Chicken Little are in the West Arctic. Chicken Little is heavily damaged. However, Nigel has plenty of RP at his disposal, and could be planning to paradrop into Europe and finish off Excelsior.
So Stilva, Dragon and Excelsior will be forming a fleet Monday. We’ll have Matthew and Andrew make purchases to refill their aircraft hangars, and that very day, we’ll have them target the Baneblade Squadron. The strategy is to do a high bombing run with artillery support, and then finish the A-1 tanks off with a combination of Gaw MPC fire and (possibly) PC support by way of Marko Dresner and…
Duncan Keystone is also in Europe, en route to Central Asia. Miscommunication made me think he was in Central Asia already, but this is not the case. So we could, potentially, ask him to join in on the attack as well.
Same goes for Noelle Everett and her Dom, if MyTitan and Zero do not mind separating her from the group for a few days.
Following the attack, the fleet will move back to Malta and bunker down/repair for the rest of the week.
In terms of PCs at Malta, I believe Ando and Ferusha are staying put on the base for the time being. Marko Dresner is with the Dragon right now, and I believe Ender wrote in the other thread that he’ll be attacking with the fleet. In my opinion, Yuji Takeshi should definitely get over to Lhasa, so we can try and get the Apsalus II up and running.
East Asia
Like always, East Asia is more complicated. Manila remains under siege. The Federation is severely damaged, and cannot launch any viable attacks into the region on Monday since so many of its PCs are repairing.
Tuesday is an entirely different story. Jack Verse moved into the Pacific Ocean (Federation territory) on Thursday, rather than join the siege. This puts him in a position to purchase a Himalaya (or any combination of nasty ships) with his 1900+ credits on Monday. He could move it into East Asia that same update, and join the fleet on Tuesday. Also, the Federation could send him enough RP to buy a hellacious amount of fighter craft for a Himalaya on Monday. So Tuesday, we could be facing an entirely new Federation presence in the region – one we cannot defeat.
So…
Dissatisfying as this is to say, it may be time to cut our losses at Manila. We cannot contend with the level of PC and RP commitment the Federation has in the area. A strategic pullback to Europe seems to be in our best interests.
Monday, the officers have voted to launch a sally forth. The goal of this is twofold: 1) to try and destroy one of more of the Federation ships while they’re repairing; 2) to get Persephone and Ritter out of Manila. To that purpose, we’re asking that they each hire 1 x support services, and request to slip out as the attack progresses.
Also on Monday, the Africa Korps can move into East Asia. Tuesday, they’ll attack the Black Hawk. The mission is basically to do as much damage as they possibly can, and then get the heck on outta dodge. If we still have any people left in Manila, this will be the final sortie. Not to be too nihilistic, but I wonder if it’d be worthwhile to use 1 or 2 x artillery support to completely level what’s left of Manila as the last of our people run away? We’ve obviously got the targeting coordinates…
From Manila, I suggest a retreat into Central Asia or North Africa. We can sit tight there, and observe what’s going on in East Asia. If they’re not quite organized, perhaps a few more strikes into the region will be possible. If they are, I think we should try and retreat to Malta and advance our plans for Belfast by a week (hitting it early during Week 8, if all works out – latest, Week 9).
And that’s about it, for now. I’ll map out a simple day-by-day itinerary below, for if we choose to go with this plan. As always, please offer feedback and comments.
Monday
Europe –
- Dragon and Stilva and Excelsior form a fleet. Markos Steiner purchases 1 x flight support and 1 x artillery support @ 200 RP. The fleet attacks the Baneblade Squadron.
- Duncan Keystone cancels movement to Central Asia. Attacks the Baneblade Squadron. Noelle Everett might also attack.
- Yuji Takeshi either participates in the battle (by virtue of being on the Dragon), or leaves immediately for Lhasa.
- Ando Shoji and Ferusha Glavadeen hold tight at Malta.
East Asia –
- Ernest Till, Marko Dresner, and Ota Naomi move to East Asia.
- Morrigan makes emergency repairs in East Asia. Xavier Brennan moves to Morrigan and goes on Overwatch. Aldo P. Armistad goes on Overwatch on the Morrigan.
- Alain Grace leaves East Asia for California Base.
- Alain Grace purchases 5 x Dopp for the Excelsior @ 100 RP.
- Persephone Dawn and Ritter Novosad each purchase 1 x support service (2 total) and try to escape Manila. They will be backed up by a sally forth on the part of the base’s defenses. They, and anyone else in the region should head for the Central Asia or North Africa border.
Purchases –
- Alain Grace purchases 5 x Dopp for Excelsior @ 100 RP. 19 RP left.
- Markos Steiner purchases 1 x flight support, 1 x artillery support @ 200 RP. 0 RP left.
- Ando Shoji purchases 3 x Dodai YS (Dragon) @ 75 RP, 3 x Dopp @ 60 RP (Stilva). 230 RP left.
- Persephone Dawn purchases 1 x support service @ 100 RP. 102 RP left.
- Ritter Novosad purchases 1 x support service @ 100 RP. 133 RP left.
RP Transfers –
- Ernest Till, Marko Dresner, Ota Naomi and Noelle Everett (and Rhett Paruta?) will transfer RP amongst themselves as Zero outlines. Think the goal is to buy some spiffy Doms.
- Ando Shoji – Keeps 230 RP
-----Alain Grace – Transfers 19 RP to Ando Shoji
-----Duncan Keystone – Transfers 275 RP to Ando Shoji
-----Aldo P. Armistad – Transfers 329 RP to Ando Shoji
-----Ferusha Glavadeen – Transfers 200 RP to Ando Shoji
-----Persephone Dawn – Transfers 102 RP to Ando Shoji
-----Ritter Novosad – Transfers 133 RP to Ando Shoji
-----Xavier Brennan – Transfers 425 RP to Ando Shoji
-----Yuji Takeshi – Transfers 100 RP to Ando Shoji
- Ando Shoji – Total = 1813 RP
Tuesday
Europe –
- Gaw Fleet moves to Malta for repairs and fortification.
- Duncan Keystone moves to Malta for repairs and fortification.
- Ando Shoji and Ferusha Glavadeen spar or duel.
East Asia –
- The Africa Korps launches an attack on the Black Hawk. Manila does a sally forth to assist, and try to break through the siege. If possible, we’ll request that anyone who can tries to make it to the Morrigan before it takes off. Maybe some can board, while others can defend.
- Morrigan takes off and heads for Central Asia border. Aldo P. Armistad and Xavier Brennan will continue Overwatch aboard the ship.
Purchases –
- Ando Shoji purchases a mixture of Malta repairs and ships w/ MS to prepare for Belfast. Shopping list should include 200 RP to repair barracks, airfield and port at Malta. 700 RP to buy a Jukon (without captain, since this will become Xavier Brennan’s). The remaining 913 RP can be used to reinforce Excelsior, Stilva and Dragon with MS and tanks and aircraft after their battle with the Baneblade Squadron. Let’s not spend extra money on Dopp or Magella pilots if we have money left over. MS are probably a priority at this point.
Wednesday
Europe and East Asia—
- We observe. dun, dun, duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun! o_O
PS. Had to do several quick edits to this, to account for sudden realizations or changes in strategy. So if numbers seem a little out of place, that’s why ^_^*.
