Cato sat quietly inside of Bosque Ohm's quarters while twiddling his thumbs, trying to to think of something to say to the captain. In stark contrast to Cato, Bosque Ohm was in a good mood as he flipped through a series of intelligence reports while humming. His ungrateful attitude toward the 1st Independent Disco Fleet's sacrifice made his blood boil. Random thoughts crossed his mind about how to deal with Ohm. Maybe he could could quickly pull his M9 from his holster and shoot Ohm dead, but no, he knew he would never be able to get away with killing a superior officer. Even if the officer was a dick.
"You paid quite the price to break this fleet out of it's prison on the front lines." Bosque looked up from his Intel reports and smiled. It was as if he knew which buttons to push on Cato. Cato gnashed his teeth together.
"You could have helped us." Cato's good eye locked with both of Bosque's. Both men stared each other for a few moments. The tension seemed to mount as both men's resentment for the other became more evident.
"I was taking my time." Bosque smirked. Cato narrowed his eye and continued to stare at Ohm. "War can be so complicated, we had engine trouble with one of our ships and we were unable to assist you in the attack on Bomer.
"You left us to fight Bomer on our own you spineless..." Ohm slammed his fist on the table.
"I'm not one of your subordinates Goloni!" Ohm shouted as veins begin to bulge from his neck in anger. The anger and spitefulness both men held for each other only added to the situation. When Cato participated in the attack on the Bomer fleet, he did it more in hopes it would under mind Ohm and push him further into Jamitov's inner circle, but his plan had backfired on him. Not only did he still have to contend with Ohm as competition for resources he now had lost a fleet in the process.
"Truth hurts huh?" Cato retorted. Bosque made a low growling sound as he and Cato continued to stare at each other.
"I'm not the one that entered a fight with wounded ships now am I?" Bosque quickly replied with equally venom laced words. This meeting with Ohm was quickly turning nasty and soon Cato thought it would turn in to a shootout. Still the thought of killing Ohm with his service pistol lingered in his mind. Cato leaned back in his chair with his eye still locked on Ohm. Wanting to diffuse the situation, Cato quickly changed the subject.
"I understand you have a mobile suit for me?" Cato asked as his eye stared at a file that had a detail inventory of the Ohm fleet. Bosque looked down at the same file that Cato was now staring at. Cato could sense hesitation come over Ohm. He knew after this argument that the captain would be hesitant about giving Cato a new mobile suit. "Jamitov seen to it this mobile suit found its way over here after we springed your ass from Bomer. Now carry out his orders and give me the damn suit." Cato hissed. Bosque looked up from the file and stared at the face of Cato Goloni.
"Your only getting this suit from Admiral Heiman because your his new favorite pet." Cato smiled as both men got up from their seats and saluted each other. Moments later Cato floated down a corridor leading to the hanger bay of the Magellan class ship called the Titan. His mind raced as he thought about what to do about Jinyuan's fleet once it is rebuilt. Jinyuan is more of a businessman, but Cato felt Jinyuan was plotting something big. He just couldn't put his finger on what exactly he was plotting. To make matters worse the production cost on Rick Dom mobile suits had gone down.
"Hopefully this new suit will help me out." The door slid open as Cato entered the small hanger bay. A red and white GM Command laid on its back ready to be released in to the vacuum of space. "Some how I get the feeling things are about to get ugly in space now that Nazee bastard smells blood in the water." Cato cringed at the thought of the fleet remnant being attacked by Jinyuan, but their was nothing he could do. With the Ohm fleet now blockading the front lines maybe it would be a deterrent to Jinyuan and buy them some time.
Cato climbed inside of the cockpit of the GM Command. The mobile suit's cockpit was noticeably different from the standard GM. It would take some time to get use to it, but it would be well worth the effort to be able to compete with those Rick Doms that the Zeeks were going to be fielding in large numbers.
"This thing will serve me well when Jinyuan returns for payback." Cato opened a field manual about the GM Command and begin to study it.
