Nadia floated in front of her secured mobile suit seemingly lost in her own thought, remaining oblivious to the work that was being conducted all around her. She was patiently waiting for someone, but while she did so, a piano and violin recording of Monti's Csárdás continued to play within her own atmosphere. Not too somber, but not too exciting it was and it suited her mental state well. A tap on the shoulder and Nadia once again begrudgingly paused the musical performance and switched on her personal communicator. She shifted her weight around to greet her guest and it came as a surprise to her when she saw the person throw up a salute.
"Seaman Alice Simek reporting as ordered, ma'am," said the girl in an impeccable military fashion. What the lack of gravity took away in deftness the precise and perfectly enunciated words made up for in plenty.
Still taken aback, Nadia replied, "No need for formalities, seaman. We're both the same rank here."
Lowering her salute, the newcomer apologized, "Sorry ma'am, it's just that your spacesuit, well, it looks different."
A small laugh escaped the test pilot's lips, but she was quick to address the issue. "I'm still bound by the rules and regulations of the Zeonic military forces, so please don't mind the suit. And please, call me Nadia."
With a nervous smile, the SAF pilot replied, "Oh, okay, thank you. But if you don't mind me asking, why did you call me out here?"
"It's not wrong in wanting to get to know one's team mate, is it?" Nadia asked in jest.
Alice shook her head from side to side and gave a punctual, "Not at all."
The Azores woman then assumed a more serious tone and shot out three questions in succession. "Alright, well, I'll get straight to the point. How much experience do you have piloting mobile suit, Alice?"
Alice immediately replied, "I've been on active duty patrolling Solomon for about three months now."
"Any sorties against the Earth Federation?" came the next question.
"None that I can recall." This time, the answer came with a moment of hesitation, though it was to be expected given Zeon's superiority in the area.
"And how many hours of GM piloting experience.?"
This question seemed to humble Nadia's teammate, and she feebly replied, "About ten hours."
Sensing Alice's discomfort, Nadia lightened up her tone and consoled her. "It's fine, Alice. You'll have plenty of time to get acclimated with the thing. In fact, why don't you suit up right now? We can do a little exercise right now."
