A series of debris from mobile suits and ships littered the 2 days from Earth frontlines. The remains of a Colombus class carrier drifted in the distance. It's white hull was now a charred black from where fires had broken out across it after suffering fatal wounds in battle against the Bomer Fleet. A Zaku II floated up to the side of the Colombus. Down the side of the ship in bold letters the name of the ship could be seen.
MONITOR. The Zaku II's monoeye swiveled to its side as it scan the area for any Federation patrols nearby. The search and rescue team made it in to the area where the remains of the warships from both the Bomer and Disco fleets floated aimlessly through space. Around the Monitor, the smashed and bullet riddled corpses of the saberfish that belonged to the Colombus floated close by.
"A moment in war frozen forever by time." The Zaku II pilot said as he could imagine the Monitor's captain ordering the vessel to go and try and save the saberfish pilots that were in jeopardy of losing their lives only to lose his ship and the rest of the crew. In a way it was a reminder to the pilot of how someone would lay their life down in order to save another or how much that captain valued the lives of the saberfish pilots more than his own. However, this was war. People needed to die.
"What do you have?" Another Zaku II floated up beside the first one. A group of Zaku II's soon passed by as the other two investigated the Monitor. A slab of metal was pealed off to the side with little ease by the Zaku II to clear a path for both mobile suits.
"See if their is anything worth salvaging in this feddie ship." The lead Zaku II motioned for the other to follow as it drifted inside of the trashed Colombus. As both Zakus made their way around inside the hanger bay, the grizzly site of burnt and maimed corpses could be seen. Some burnt to a crisp as if someone had pulled them out of a oven in a Nazi deathcamp. Meanwhile other bodies drifted surrounded in a pool of their own blood. The lead Zaku II pilot looked away. The site of blood in zero gravity always seemed to bother him. "This is always the messy part of the job." He sighed as the other Zaku II maneuvered in the other side of the hanger.
"Nothing but saberfi....Hey come check this out!" The other Zaku II pilot shouted as he nudged the mangled aircraft out of his way with the barrel of his machinegun. In the far end of the hanger a red and white GM Command floated in pristine condition. In comparison to the other weapons on board it was unscratched.
"Not even a knick on it! Wonder if the feddies are using some kind of new armor on the commando models?" The Zaku II came closer. The lead Zaku II looked on as it cautiously approached. Something didn't seem quite right about this GM Command. It was unscaved and not even the sign of metal warping from the fire that had broken out on the Monitor. Yet here it floated with all of its weapons intact. It was as if...
"IT'S A TRAP!" The lead Zaku II pilot yelled. The supporting Zaku II turned back and stared at its leader and then swiveled its eye back around only to see the barrel of the GM Command's beam gun pointed at its cockpit. The faded blue visor fluttered to life and illuminated the wrecked hanger bay with a bright blue glow.
"You should show more respect for the dead, dick!" Cato growled as the GM Command fired a beam blast. A bright pink flash could be seen from the outside of the Montior. The rest of the Zaku II's stopped what they were doing. All of their monoeye sensors were trained on the mangled Colombus class.
"That's not good." One Zaku II pilot said as the rest of his comrades looked on in total silence. Many were nervous and afriad. Had the Ohm Fleet intercepted them? None of the Zaku pilots knew.
The lead Zaku II drifted backwards away from his dead comrade. The GM Command smashed the dead Zaku out of its way with its shield. Smoke rushed out from the cockpit as it drifted off to the side with the rest of the wreckage inside of the Monitor. The lead Zaku ignited its engines and jetted toward a crack in the wall of the Monitor. The Zeon mobile suit raised its machinegun and fired a burst of ammo around the crack and turned into a gaping hole. The Zaku smashed through the hole and escaped out in to space.
"The Commander!" One of the Zaku II pilots shouted over the comm link. As the team of Zaku II moved to try and help out their commanding officer a volley of machinegun tracers streaked past them.
"Contact! Twelve o'clock high!" One of the Zakus raised its machinegun and fired at the fast approaching group of GMs. A machinegun burst from one of the GMs clipped the attacking Zaku II in the chest. Shortly after the mobile suit exploded in to a fireball. Its pilot screamed out in agony as he was burned alive. With the explosion the rest of the Zakus quickly spreaded out and took cover while returning fire on the attacking Federation GMs.
"I told those idiots I was gonna need E type Zakus for this operation!" The lead Zaku pilot shouted in frustration as his Zaku opened fire on a GM. A quick two round burst shredded the cockpit and killed the pilot. The GM drifted lifelessly by the opposing Zaku.
"Were not through yet you nazee bastard!" Cato's voice blared through the comm. A loud crash was heard. The lead Zaku II turned quickly to see the GM Command from inside the Colombus had smashed its way out and was now charging towards the Zaku at full speed.
