Seattle. The city was completely vacant. For many metropolises around the world, this sight was no longer unusual. Once the capital of the North American green movement, Seattle now appeared like a hazardous version of its former self. Skyscrapers collapsed everywhere, sewage spewed onto the streets and untreated chemicals from factories slowly poured into the surrounding waterfront. Now this nightmare of place stood at the center of the war as both Zeon and Federation forces swarmed the area in search of the infamous White Base. It seemed like Manila all over again.
Beneath the poisoned water, three Feddies sat in their aquatic GMs as they prepared to surface in search of the Pegasus class ship. The pilots of the GM Divers, Mar Catalan and Gajendra Pondicherry, waited for the squad leader to brief them. But first Gajendra needed to know one thing.
“So…do we have a name yet?” he asked.
“Gaj,” Mar interrupted, “now is not the time.”
Gajendra insisted, “We’ve been together for a while now and gone through a bunch of shit, man. Nothing can get past us now and Zeon needs to know it.”
Moderately interested, she asked, “…so?”
“Well, we need something badass like The Hammerheads or...Got it, Red Barracudas!
She was quick to burst his bubble, “I think the Zeeks already took that name.”
Frustrated, he asked Hirsch, “Fuck. What do you think, Tuna? I mean, Private.”
Not hearing a response, Mar changed the subject, “Señor Munchek, our oxygen tanks are filled and the navigational equipment seems to be working properly. What next?”
Hirsch heard Mar, but did not respond immediately, occupied instead by a map of Seattle’s metropolitan area.
She repeated, “Señor?”
Finally, Hirsch responded, “This polluted water is gonna make it difficult for us to see anything.”
“Where exactly are we going?”
“Sending coordinates now. All I was told was that we could find White Base in Seattle, but everyone failed to notify me that this city is scattered on a bunch of islands.”
“Has the Snail identified anything?” she inquired.
Hirsch was actually happy that he couldn't find White Base,“It’s been flying around all morning, but no luck. That ship is hidden well and I doubt it plans to come out any time soon. However, the island that I’ve identified with a cross seems like our best bet. It’s the biggest and full of dense woods. We’re only five kilometers away.”
Gajendra laughed, “Let’s saddle up and hunt a white horse with wings! Hope it tastes like - how do you people say it - chicken?”

White Base.
“Mr. Bright, you might want to look at this.”
The captain got up from his seat and took a look outside into the forest from the ship deck, “What is it?”
“Someone is sending us a light signal out-…There it goes again! It could be the enemy, they’ve found us!”
Bright ordered the radar technician to calm down, "If it were the enemy they would’ve already relayed our position and attacked us. Nonetheless, they could be Zeon operatives in disguise. We should take all precautions, send out a marine platoon to investigate.”
“Yes, Captain Bright!”
The marines moved quickly, yet silently to the enemy position. When they reached it, the marines immediately contacted the crew back on White Base.
“Captain, we found nothing but oxygen tanks and scuba gear. No enemy in sight!” the marine reported.
They then heard a voice in the air, “Are you speaking to your captain?”
“Whose there!? Show yourself, Zeon scum!”
“Zeon Scum? Us!? No, them.”
Suddenly two bodies wearing Zeon uniforms fell from the tree tops above with their throats slit followed by three badges.
Hirsch tapped the squad leader from behind and spoke into his headpiece so that Bright could hear him, “Private First Class Hirsch Munchek for the Earth Federal Ground Forces reporting. Next to me are Privates Mar Catalan and Gajendra Pondicherry, and together we are The Krakens, the Federation’s aquatic assault team. We are here to rescue you.”
Gajendra grinned, "That's a pretty bad ass name."
