Oh hi!
Rosters aren't updated yet, but it would appear that (based on the event) that the 9th Combined Operation Fleet (Stilva, Excelsior, U-88) has made it to North America with no incident, as well as Dragon (with some incident, but still intact!)
Unfortunately, this leaves the West Arctic region uncontested for now, and it will become Enemy Territory this weekend. However, this means that Kale and I are going to be able to harass lone EFGF units in North America before the event and hurt their participation (although not knock them out of the thing as I originally hoped).
Anywho, I figure we should get the discussion going about how best to apply what resources we have on Monday, to do the most damage we can do to the EF before the event.
ALLIED FORCES (PRE-UPDATE) - Ando Shoji [Zaku II S] - Aldo P. Armistad [Dom S: 2x lvl5 Dom] - Dragon [Gaw: 1x Marines, 1x lvl3 Marines, 2x Magella, 2x lvl2 Magella, 2x lvl4 Magella, 1x lvl3 Zaku II K, 1x lvl4 Zaku II K, 1x lvl4 Luggun (D), 4x Dopp, 3x lvl4 Dopp] - Stilva [Gaw: 2x lvl2 Marines, 2x Magella, 4x lvl2 Magella, 4x lvl4 Dopp, 1x lvl2 Luggun (D)] - Excelsior [Recon Gaw: 4x lvl2 Dopp, 1x lvl3 Dopp] - U-88 Baekhesten [Jukon II]
ENEMY FORCES (PRE-UPDATE) - Jim Irwin [Tin Cod] - Bigby Wolfe [GM Desert Type] - Hirsch Munchek [Aqua GM: 2x lvl5 GM Diver, 1x Don Escargot] -Arden Massenfer [GM Sniper Custom: 1x GMPGT, 1x lvl4 GM G, 1x lvl2 Dish ] - Jarvis Ackart [GM Command: 1x lvl2 GM, 1x lvl2 GM CCT] - Jane Sheppard [GM S Type: 1x lvl5 Dracken E (Ela), 1x lvl3 Type 74 (D)] - Jack Verse [GMPGT]
Personally, I would like to see us split the ships and personnel up between Kale and myself and hit as many targets as possible. Special emphasis is on the officers, though, as although I'm not sure how important PC field commanders are going to be in this battle, they are the worst-defended (barring the Tin Cod) and have potentially the best chance to be captured or super #($*&ed up.
There are probably more EF targets in North America we can attack on Monday, but it's impossible to know until the update is complete. Until then, any thoughts guys?

First off, excellent idea Matthew! We got pretty mired in the West Arctic, and I think you've come up with a great alternative.
By "hurt their participation," what do you mean exactly? Will they fight at 1/2 VP with 1/2 gains in the White Base event, if damaged on Monday?
If so, I recommend splitting our forces up as thoroughly as possible to hit the maximum number of targets...
- Aldo P. Armistad w/ 2 x L5 Doms.
- Ando Shoji w/ 2 x Zaku K from Dragon (w/ 2 x support services in friendly territory!).
- Excelsior + U-88 Baekhesten (for long range missile support, yo!).
- Dragon.
- Stilva.
Depending on who makes it through after Ketara updates, we can divide and conquer.
If they're going to participate at full VP with full gains, unless we can kill or capture them, I suggest dividing into two or three strong groups and targeting officers.
- Stilva + Excelsior + U-88 Baekhesten can target Arden Massenfer. Objective: Murder.
- Dragon + Aldo Team + Ando Team can target Jarvis Ackart. Objective: Capture.
I suggest Dragon against Ackart, since it's limping, and we wouldn't want a stray sniper shot from Massenfer to down her. Ground forces should be able to corner and capture the relatively-inexperienced Ackart, without concern. Meanwhile, the Stilva + Excelsior + Baekhesten are powerful and healthy enough that they can make short work of Massenfer.
One last alternative would be to divert Dragon from the North America plans, and just have Aldo Team + Ando Team attack Ackart. Dragon could paradrop into the West Arctic, kill Nigel Ferdinand, and we'll have knocked all three of their active terrestrial officers out.
Of course, what will happen to the Dragon when we return from Christmas break will not be pretty.
I'll be gone most of the morning and afternoon, but will attempt to chime in when possible! I'll send my email just before the deadline, so it reflects our final decision. If someone could please contact Andrew, and inform him of the possibility that our fleet will be breaking up yet again, it'd be helpful.
Have a good one!

I don't think we stand a shot at taking Hirsch down, personally. =(
Kale, as far as your suggestions go they sound great.

If you guys want to do me a big heaping favor, could you not attack Jim Irwin, Arden Massenfer, Jarvis Ackart, or Hirsch Munchek today?
They are the EF PC's that should have been able to hide yesterday re: the other thread.
Bigby Wolfe, Jane Sheppard and Jack Verse are still open targets.
I won't stop you guys regardless, but I did kind of screw the event planning up, and it would be nice if you guys would give the EF a bit of a break since I was the one who screwed up.

Okay, how about this:
- Ando Shoji + Dragon goes after Jack Verse. - Aldo P. Armistad + 2 x lvl5 Dom goes after Bigby Wolfe. - 9th Combined Operation Fleet goes after Jane Sheppard.
We can switch up the first two if you prefer, but I think that should work.

Actually, Kale, would you rather go after Bigby Wolfe or Jane Sheppard?

Nevermind. Have to go to work, here's the e-mail I sent.
If you'd rather ambush Jane Sheppard instead that's fine, I was just a little weirded out about ambushing her since the fleet doesn't actually have any MS of its own.

Just now got on. I'll check the thread again later tonight, before the 10 deadline. Just wanted to say I'll go with whatever you decide, Matthew.
Sorry for the lack of responses. Been entertaining friends all day.
Sucks, about the officers. I'll note that Jojo didn't exactly let off on us when it comes to New Amsterdam and the paradrop against Dragon. Nor has the Federation exactly been merciful with all range attacking our bros in North America. But I agree with the decision to preserve Ketara's honor. We are, after all, Zeon ;).
Though I think we should have negotiated harder, to get Ando + Aldo into the event...!

Tell you what, I'll give you two event VP for the ambush.
But no promotions!

Hmm. I don't know what event VP is! It doesn't sound nearly as good as killing all the Federation officers or getting promoted, though! You have a tough sell ahead of you!
Oh...
... wait...
what...?
No choice in the matter, you say?
Damn. Well, whatever!
Now to address someone who has not disappointed me terribly! (<3)
Matthew, I think I'll email in to ambush Jane Sheppard. Type 74s are apparently not great against Doms, and Nader's just got the Draken' E backing him up. Slight VP disparity, but I think I should be okay.

lol.
I will just write it all as one big shebang since it's not really clear how being in an ambush and an event on the same day works (in fact that shouldn't be possible.) You won't get a promotion for participating in the event, but you'll get 10-12 VP like the event goers instead of 6-8 for an ambush.
Thanks for being good sports though. In the long run it is better than killing so many EF players in one day that they all gripe about it being unfair, quit the game, and then the RPG ends =P

So, do I still need to send in an email to ambush, or will I just be considered part of the event now?
