Zeon Expeditionary Force, Three Days from Earth "Thirty-six straight hours on patrol. Still no sight of the SosRo. I have extended my search further away from the ZEF fleet's sensor range but no luck." Another twelve hours and nothing still. Every time time Laredo recorded his progress on his Zaku's cockpit personal log it brings down his spirits even more. The only saving grace of being by himself this long was the simple fact that he was away from Wu Jinyuan's aura of arrogance for the time being. Ever since the arrival of the Gwazine-class Monarch Jinyuan walks around as if he single handedly already won the war. All these training exercises with the Gwazine were all excuse for him to show off his new toy. The EF new prototype suits didn't have a chance against the sheer firepower of the Monarch. On the bright side he was able to obtain plenty of combat footage which will aid in future conflicts but for now the only concern was the Sos Ro or at least finding it. Today would prove that all the waiting wasn't in vain. "Incoming transmission? No one knows I'm out here. This is Unterscharfuhrer Veil, state your purpose." "Sir this is Chief Petty Officer Rahn, I run a patrol unit out of the Solomon Defense Fleet. We found something that may interest you. Sending you the coordinates as we speak." "Is it the Sos Ro?" "We think so, like a I said you should come ASAP sir. We uh don't know what to make of this." "Very well." Veil was relieved. All this time out here and finally a solid lead. "Hmm, still have have enough fuel for the trip. " Another transmission was coming through. This one was from the bridge of the Monarch. The ZEF would have to survive the next couple of hours on their own. Veil could care less about the what that ship wanted, he'd been playing the role of compliant soldier for far too long now. He was sent here for a reason and he was going to do his job.

Open Space, Three Days from Earth The sight wasn't what Laredo was expecting when he arrived. All this time looking for the SosRo, the weeks in space, the numerous exercises and battles he wanted no part in. It all came to this, he was looking at the SosRo...or parts of it. "What the hell?" "Keep your distance! We still haven't completely swept the sector. The Zaku mine layer is doing its rounds but we can't be too sure." Rahn's Rick Dom raised its left hand and signaled the SS to halt in his tracks. "Tell me what happened...now!" Laredo demanded from the Zeon patrol. "After we sent for you, one of my guys detected numerous heat signatures coming from the SosRo. Smithe went in for a closer look, once he got about 30 meters, our sensors flared up and before we could warn him it was too late. The ship was rigged to blow if anyone got close. Poor bastard, never had a chance to get away." "You're telling me it was booby trapped?" "Aye, sir. May I ask what you needed with this vessel Unterscharfuhrer?" "I was looking for someone." replied Veil, "I apologize but I don't think you'll be finding anyone in this mess." Rahn was sincere in his apology feeling partly responsible for Veil's the wasted trip. "If you like we can escort you back the ZEF? It's the least we can do." "I'll be fine. Hmm transmission?" A broadcast opens, the SS agent does everything he can but his suit's sophisticated sensors come up with nothing. "You too? I can't seem to get a fix on it. Sehopi, anything?" "No sir. Nothing just too much interference." The transmission begins. The video is black, only a slight buzzing is heard in the background. The voice that came on shortly after was modulated to sound deep and unrecognizable. "Attention silly Schutzstaffel. Don't tell a lie. Every crime begins with a lie. You do know that right? What is your lie you ask? You'll know soon enough. You thought we didn't know about Thomas Gane? Thomas was a valuable asset to us only to be murdered by your guard dog, Jun Ghettid. You been looking for us I assume and at this point you seem to be at a loss. So let us help you. This transmission is being broadcast from a modified distress beacon in Sector 127-Bt. The remains of the original SosRo were obtained through legally from a scrap metal company in Neo Hong Kong. If you continue down this road you won't like what you find. Consider this you're one and only warning Schutzstaffel. We are M21."
