So, we're now at 60 members, and I'm expecting another join form today.
Our last run we capped out at something like 45-47 members. I designed OYW with 50-55 members in mind, making conscious considerations for how much RP sides would be getting and how strong bases would need to be for them to be considered appropriate challenges for the sides I wanted to field. Luckily, I think I erred considerably on the side of caution, and with 60 members we're still working quite well. The fact that we have an abundance of Rogues this run is helping the situation.
However, I'm worried that if we get another zillion members, it will break the game. So, I've done some statistical analysis of what we have at the moment, what I would still like to see, and what is a fair distribution of players, classes and divisions, and I've decided we're going to cap membership at 72 people. I think the game can support that many, although we may need to up our full time writer base from 4 to 6, which worries me since we have issues getting it up to 4 as is.
Part of the reason I'm mentioning this now is because I've adjusted what's open on the Joining page again, and at this point things that are closed will not be opening again, unless a member is removed. So if you have a friend or something who is waiting for a division to open back up, you can tell them that it is not going to open back up, and they need to adjust their character idea.
Sorry if that upsets people, but that's how it is.
