"You never did tell me why we're here." came the terse sounding voice over the com. Prompting Rose to sigh and pinch the bridge of her nose with her right hand. "How many times are you going to say that?" Rose asked. Rose only had to wait a mere second until Rhin responded. "Clearly untill you tell me." Rose could just imagine her fellow pilots face slightly pinched in annoyance right now.
Rose felt both annoyed and amused by this woman's antics. "So I'll tell you again. We here because we were requested to be here by an officer of the SS. Perhaps in TAF they go around freely spouting their operations. But we in the SS try to take things a bit more seriously. We will find out the details when we get there." Rose said for the fourth time by her count. I suppose it will be another ten minutes or so til she starts again mused Rose.
Seconds pass before the com comes to life again. "So tell me, do SS use travel in such few numbers like this?" Rhin asked. Rose raised an eyebrow and thought for a moment before answering. "It depends on the situation. We're trained to be flexible and adaptable. This set up of two ms and dodai's was the best fit for the expected situations we may face." Rose replied coolly. A bit of laughter came through the com. "Ah so you SS types are super soldiers or something then? Your training must have been pretty rough." said Rhin.
"It had it's moments." Rose said making it clear that line of talking would go no further. This action seemed to deflect Rhin's attention elsewhere for a while, giving Rose a moment to check their position. Hmmm so far so good. It would seem we were able to make it through the enemies patrols. thought Rose. Bringing up a map on her suits screen, she could clearly see her suit and Rhins currently flying on the dodais. "Lets see, we're supposed to meet here so we have about an hour flight time left." mumbled Rose as she double checked the flight time and trajectory. As soon as she confirmed the course was right she allowed herself a brief moment to relax and collect herself. I always did hate down times during ops she thought amusingly.
Unsurprisingly it was at this moment Rhin chimed in again. "So this SS officer that called us out here. You ever met him?" asked Rhin. Rose waited a moment before answering. "Not face to face, though he's apparently had some success against the federation. He even took part in Lord Garma's operation against the Federations new warship." responded Rose. Rose gave a shake of her head as she heard an approving noise from Rhin. "I take it you approve?" she asked.
"Of course, it does sound impressive. But lets just hope he lives up to the hype for our sake." commented Rhin. This Rose thought This I agree with "So, not to be to invasive but I must say you seem much more friendlier than before." said Rhin. Rose just arched an eyebrow at that.
Rose walked briskly through the corridors of the Lhasa base. She'd just arrived on Earth and had met with the base commander as a sign of respect. But the the commanders nature had left her with a bad taste in her mouth. "Still, at least I got what I wanted." she thought to herself as she eyed the transfer orders in her hand. Glancing up briefly she took a right turn down and hallway. She could tell she was near the barracks already just by the sounds.
Upon entering the barracks proper Rose took a further right hand turn leading to the female quarters of a Sargent. Arriving at the room number on the orders Rose knocked twice. Seconds later the door opened to reveal a dark haired woman in a white tank top and combat pants. It took Rhin but a moment to notice the SS insignia on Rose's uniform and she immiditly snapped and quick salute. "Ma'am." Rhin said. Rose merely eyed her before returning the salute and handing her the orders.
Glancing over them quickly Rhin's face became a mask of confusion. "But I was scheudled to return to activie duty with my patrol tomorrow." Rhin said. 'Not anymore, we leave in thirty minutes. I expect you in the hangar in fifteen." replied Rose, and with that she walked away.
Fifteen minutes later Rose was in the hangar next to her gouf custom preparing to board. When she noticed Rhin approching her. "This will be your suit." Rose said motioning towards the gouf next to hers. "It should serve as a good replacement considering you lost your Zaku on a patrol." commented Rose. Rhin looked appricitively at the gouf before turning back to Rose. "If I may ask, why have I been transferred to your command?" asked Rhin. Rose regarded her coolly before fastening her helmet. "You have an above average performence record so far, and you are either skilled enough or lucky enough to survive your suit being shot down. Either one are skills I could use at my disposle. You may not like it but from now on you will be working for the SS chain of command, not the TAF." Rose said rather bluntly and climbed into her suit. Rhin clenched her teeth lightly before turning to her own suit.
"I suppose I am." conceded Rose. This admission seemed to please Rhin as no further conversation was fourth coming. Seeing this Rose gave a small smile. It would seem uncle Sardo had a point. Making the tools under you think you care about them will only make them fight harder for you. It should be interesting to see how this goes. Still, I think I'd like to keep this tool around a bit longer. Rose mused again as a slightly evil grin formed on her lips.
