Emil was lying on the tiny bunk in his minimal cell. He had lost everything. They took his partner, he's been separated from Laura, he's lost his freedom and even the locket.. He has nothing left, and the cell is starting to grate on his mind. Not being able to do anything else, he's reflecting on his actions.
"Damnit, what did I do to deserve this.."
He's rolling around, curling up, walking around, trying to do something to keep his sanity. But nothing works.
"I hate this place.. I need to get out of here.. I need to get out! I NEED TO GET OUT!"
Dashing towards the cell door, he tries to tackle it. When that doesn't work, he starts punching it, and punching it, and punching it some more.
"Damnit damnit damnit damnit let me out I need to get out LET ME OUT!"
He keeps punching the door until he's exhausted himself and falls to his knees, but that doesn't stop him from punching.
"Damnit.. I want to get out.. I want to get out, I hate this place..."
Almost starting to cry, he keeps banging on the door.
"Damnit, am I going to die in here? I don't want to die... I need to get out.."
Suddenly a voice rang through the intercom.
"How much are you willing to do in order to get out?"
This was a voice Emil recognized. It was Laura.
"Laura, is that you?"
She asked again.
"Just answer the question. How much are you willing to do in order to get out?"
Emil didn't answer her question.
"Laura, that is you, isn't it?"
Starting to get annoyed, she asked once again.
"Just answer the question!"
Of course, he didn't answer.
"Laura, I'm so happy.. This place is awful.."
His lack of obedience angered her, so in her anger she opened the door, slapped him and asked him again.
"Answer the question! How much are you willing to do in order to get out?!"
Her sudden action was surprising to Emil, but it was enough to beat some sense into him.
"I'll do anything! Just let me out of here!"
He noticed something. She wasn't wearing her EFSF uniform. For some odd reason, she was wearing a Zeon officer's uniform. She smirked, and gave him an ultimatum.
"Good boy. I've got a way for you to get out of here. Join the Zeon Space Assault Force, or you will have to rot in here until the end of time."

Laura had just dropped a giant bomb on Emil. Joining the SAF or staying in that awful place forever.. She knew what he would answer, of course, but she still had to make sure.
"Of course I'll join the Space Assault Force! But.. why are you dressed like that?"
His response made Laura smile.
"That's a good boy, I knew you'd choose the reasonable choice. Oh, and why I'm dressed like this.. I'll tell you in a minute, okay?"
She's searching for something in her pocket. She picked up a small thing from her pocket, a little locket.
"I told you to hold onto this, didn't I?"
As she's putting it on him, Emil's expression changed. Smiling, he responds.
"I thought I'd never see you again, but I'm happy I was wrong."
She decides to tell him a little of what she's been doing.
"I'm guessing you're a bit curious about my Zeon outfit, huh? Well, I'm really a Zeon officer, but I kinda.. ran away for a while, just to be able to see what the other side is like. And to find someone."
That last part made Emil curious, so he asks her about it.
"Well, did you find who you were looking for?"
She looks at Emil in disbelief for a little while, before responding to his question.
"You really are dense, huh? Yes, I found who I was looking for."
Coughing a little, she continues.
"And how I became a Lieutenant so quickly.. let's just say I did some favors I'm not very proud of."
She suddenly got a serious expression on her face.
"However, this SAF employment of yours.. it's not going to be all fun and games. I expect complete loyalty from you. Follow my every order, and I'll make sure you're treated well in the Space Assault Force."
She curled her hair a little before continuing.
"I don't expect any miracles from you, just do what you've been doing until now. ..Except for the opposite side, I guess."
Stretching out her hand, she asks him the most important question of his life.
"Well, do we have a deal?"
Emil smiled and shook her hand. After a while, she let go of his hand, saluted him and welcomed him into the Zeon army.
"Welcome to the Space Assault Force, Seaman Emil Myberg. I'll make sure to have your uniform done soon. As per what you will pilot.. we'll see what pops up, okay?"
She gave him a long, awkward hug before they left the cell blocks.

Standing in Laura's room, Emil was trying out the suits he has been given. She had gotten him both an uniform and a pilot suit. For some odd reason, them fit perfectly. Laura made it fit perfectly, somehow, and Emil wasn't going to ask her how. He thought it was odd wearing a Zeon uniform, but he thought it didn't look too bad. Laura was standing outside, tapping her foot on the ground out of anxiety.
"Aren't you done yet? Do you need me to help you?"
She was obviously starting to get impatient so Emil tried to speed things up a bit. After putting the suit on, he stepped outside, which caused Laura to light up, walking around him and checking him out from every side. She states her thoughts very loudly.
"You look great! Heh, I knew you'd look perfect in the Zeon uniform."
Emil didn't seem to like the attention, but Laura seemed to love giving it, so he just had to live with it. After a little while, Laura told him they had something they need to do.
"Let's go to the communications room, okay? There's someone you need to meet."
Inside the communications room Laura ordered everybody out for a while, and they complied without questioning her orders. Who is she, anyway? Emil thought. She gave him some advice once they were alone.
"Make sure you're extremely polite, you wouldn't want to make this man mad."
As soon as she said that, she flipped the monitor on. Inside the monitor was an image of a man. A giant man whose sheer presence almost could be felt through the monitor. Emil flinched, but once Laura saluted, he also put up a nervous salute. The giant man spoke to Laura.
"Ah, Commander Glensburg. I guess it's about time you showed up. How was your 'vacation'? You're lucky that woman wanted you back so badly."
Looking at Emil, he kept talking.
"I'm guessing that tiny man is the one you've been speaking of? He doesn't look like much to me."
Laura stood firm and responded to the giant man.
"Well, Dozle, I promise you this boy is a proud warrior, worthy of your respect."
Dozle smirked a little before talking once again.
"Hah, I guess we'll just have to see. Either way, I'm sending you a Rick Dom. Show me your strength out in the battlefield!"
After saluting, the screen went black again. Emil let out a sigh of relief and Laura pat him on the shoulder.
"Couldn't you have warned me about him, at least?"
Laura laughed a little and responded in a cheerful manner.
"But that wouldn't have been any fun!"

Laura and Emil spent a while having fun on Solomon, talking about all kinds of things, but then came the time to leave. Emil changed into his pilot suit, but was surprised when Laura didn't do the same. She got a serious face as he asked her about it. Nobody but Emil would've been surprised at her response.
"Well, I have a ton of paperwork I need to do.. but don't worry, I'll show up when you least expect it!"
Emil chuckled a little at Laura's remark, causing her to cheer up quite a bit.
"See, that's the face I want you to have! Call me old-fashioned, but I believe in something my mother said when I was younger.. 'No matter what sadness occurs, no matter what painful times there are, as long as you have a smile you'll be able to overcome it.'"
She smiled.
"So, keep smiling, okay?"
Emil smiled, as well. Laura sighed in relief while patting him on the head.
"Alright, now I know I can leave you alone for a while."
She picked up something out of her bag and gave it to Emil. It seems to be some sort of sealed envelope. Laura gives him some instructions.
"If anything ever happens to me, I want you to open this and do what the instructions inside say."
Laura got a serious face.
"However, if you do it for no real reason.. I'll break you."
Chuckling as she sees Emil's reaction, she talks a bit more.
"Don't worry about it. Just make sure you always keep it with you. It's VERY important."
As Emil was heading toward his Rick Dom, he felt someone catch him. It was Laura, of course. She was hugging him with all her might, seemingly trying to squeeze the sadness out of Emil. She gave him a few last orders before letting him go.
"Make sure you survive! And try your best to listen to your superiors!"
She lowered her voice a little.
"Oh, and I don't mind if you play a bit with the other girls, since I know you'll be mine in the end."
Emil agreed, of course. Laura almost cried a little while sending him off.
"Take care! I'll try to get to you as quick as possible, I promise!"
