Scott arrived at the Jaburo base by way of a cargo ship sending supplies to the base. As he stepped out of the ship he looked up at the sky. He gazed into it for a while until he heard a voice calling his name, rank first, last name later.
"Sergeant Archer!"
Scott looked at the man. He noticed the Lt rank insignia on the uniform and shot up a salute. "Sergeant Scott Archer reporting for duty." He said in his usual calm solider toned voice. "Come with me Sergeant. The Admiral wants to have a few words with you." The Lieutenant said to Scott in the same commanding tone. Scott threw his dufflebag in the back of the jeep and then he, himself, sat in the back seat of the jeep as the Lieutenant drove the jeep off the airstrip and into the base.
Two hours later...
The jeep carrying Scott was getting closer to the underground command building. Scott looked around a bit while still being driven to the base. As they arrive, the jeep comes to a complete stop. Scott got out of the jeep and some MPs took his bag. "Don't worry, they are putting it into your temp quarters for you. The Admiral wants to see you right away." Scott shot a salute at the Lieutenant once again and followed the directions that was given to him by one of the MPs toward the Admirals office.
30 min later...
Scott approaches the door to the Admirals office. Scott takes a deep breath before knocking on the door. In the office the EF Admiral was finishing up preparing a file as he heard the knock on his door. He puts all the documents into the file folder, placed it on his desk and in a officer commending voice said, "Enter!" Scott exhaled as he opened the door. He walked up to the Admirals desk and stood up straight and saluted before speaking. "Sergeant Scott Archer reporting for duty, sir!" The Admiral looked at Scott, measuring him up before speaking. "At ease Sergeant. Have a seat." Scott lowered his arm and sat down in one of the two chairs in front of the desk.
The Admiral reached into one of his desk drawers and pulls out Scott's file. "Well now Sergeant lets have a look see at your service record shall we?" Scott looked at the Admiral as he read his service record. "Well this is quite impressive Sergeant. You have so far completed all your missions with minimal casualties. Yet it states in her you deviated from the mission to help your fellow soldiers. Explain." Scott took a breath before answering, "Sir. It is to my understanding that a solider needs his comrades in order to complete his missions. No matter how good one solider is, that single solider can not complete a mission solo." The admiral nods, "This is very true Sergeant. Did you happen to hear about what happened in North America by any chance?" The admiral asks Scott. Scott looking confused as to the nature of the question responded, "Sir?" The admiral lowered his head some before replying back, "You see sergeant we lost some good people defending the White Base and its Civilian crew. We lost some test pilots in that battle that had some prototype suits. This is the reason why you had been reassigned here." The Admiral slid over to Scott the file he was preparing for him. "Sergeant, read this file, it is the mans place you are taking. His name is Private First Class Jack Verse and he was in the Gundam Mass Produced Ground Type, GMPGT for short. I want you to read this file then come back to me. Then I'll introduce you to your new mobile weapon and give you your orders from there. Dismissed!"
Scott stood up with the file in hand, saluted and walked to his quarters, He has some reading to do.
